    vr6 tuning

VRTrickster, forget buying a chip with a map on it, you may as well spread butter on the ECU, it's just not the right way to do it! The TB heater pipes do help in the winter i'm sure but not needed in the summer and the supercharger warms it up on my car anyway as would a turbo you mentioned is in the planning. The isoplates are a gimmic i'm sure and the difference is smaller than my penis! It depends upon what you call silly money TBH, it's not expensive to tune the VR compared to many other cars as it has plenty of power to start with. The cam choice is very mild if you are after power surely! Why 264's? you can get a far better profile and do a few things to get it working together so whom told you this was the best for power? It all depends on what you want to do i guess but i want to see someone get some 310degree cams and run 12:1 C/R with throttle bodies and a few other things and get the thing to show it's teeth Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr................ Chris

    Gauges

I have an Apexi boost gauge but the thing is that it shows in Bar and goes to 1.5bar so you are giessing as to what the psi is and it doesn't go round very far so not as much use as it might be. What would be a good gauge, or should i say, what's your fav gauge you've seem? Chris

    vr6 tuning

It really doesn't make a world of difference, sod the OBDII and get a DTA P8Pro and you can adjust everything and it even has fuzzy logig biases interpolation for injector timing as well as shovel leads of stuff and you can tweak it yourself as much as you like or no and let it learn it's self constantly. There are always more ways to skin a cat Chris

    vr6 tuning

Buy a charger! Fit nitrous! But apart from that, why not go for a higher duration cam and raise the compression? The tracts in the head don't give a great deal of scope for removing metal, smooth it out and get rid of roughness and casting marks, mostly you should try and port-match the manifolds and head ports, this matching will mean more to flow than slight tract polishing but you need to make sure the gaskets aren't in the way of the ports either, if so you need to cut the offending area back. Stop the hot water going to the trottle body and get a open slat front grille and use Optimax and once you've got the bits done, go to stealth for a remap. Chris
  9. It's not the end of the world and not hard to fix, just time consuming, there is a little plate on the engine that comes off with 2 10mm bolts IIRC and the bearing is in there, if what i'm thinking of is right, there's nothing that you need to change the engine for apart from cracking the block of something similarly destructive. The drive shaft loks like a lead pencil and it all just slides together, take it to bits and have a look or i will next time i'm in H8RRA's garage as there's a few engines lying around so i'll post up what i find more accuratelly as i've never had an issue in this area so i'll inverstigate if i can. Post up what Vince tells you though. Chris
  10. Tom-nipotent we should call you o' omnipotent one! Chris

  12. I can supply clutch kits, especially if you want a special one. Has anyone got an old clutch kit they have removed lying around to model a paddle clutch from? Chris
  13. That Ebay VR6 'Race Engine' guy replied to a message i sent to him. "not sure of exactly what clearence volume, but was all measured by my engine builder and he has taken 1.5mm of the block and pocketed 1.5mm out of piston crown,so clearence is same as standard engine, which allows you to use anything up to approx 285 degree duration with 11mm of lift." Chris
  14. The is an ultimate car, one of my close friends has a mate who bought one of these but it was the one pictured which is the Koenigsegg CCR which is still rediculously mega but the current Koenigsegg CXX is an evolution on the theme and is outstanding, this would be my choice over a Porsche or Ferrari easily! Chris
  15. I remember phoning H8RRA from the driving seat of a new 911 Carrera and doing 150-160mph down the Coast road to Whitley Bay. The dumper truck pedals felt odd to start with and the pedals aren't directly in front of you as the Corrado ones are so it feels a bit odd being offset. Lovely cars though and so solidly built. Chris

    speed sensor

I'm always interested in faults like this and more so the outcome and cure so please post in here if/when you fix it. Mine works fine but fore armed is fore warned as they say. Chris
  18. The thing is double-6s, half of the revenue that you have spent on the 24v is recoverable from the VR6 engine you have, I don't think you'll break it as i drive mine like it's stolen when i'm having a bit of fun, like when H8RRA and I were racing down the motorway near us at over 150mph, the ba***rd was pulling away from me and there was nothing i could do grrrrr. very frustrating! Chris
  19. Sounds buggered to me, the rear axles are pretty much non adjustable. Chris
  20. All i can see is that it needs a tiny pulley banging on, then see what the gearbox makes of it! Chris
  21. THe hubs might be new but i'm sure that the yoke isn't I think he's yoking if that's new Corrado 90 - 94 TC212 and the price is good, i'm buying into this as it's a chore otherwise, i've set mine too far out and actuatty have a bit of positive camber which is very poor for handling i can tell you, but as it's such a chore then you need the tracking setting at a cost, i've just left it fo now. Chris
  22. Yip i have had one fittet for a couple of years and i would say that it does everything that it says on the box and i don't think you can go past one, Five star rating. Chris
  23. H8RRA has a brand new rear engine VF-engineering mount for floggage! Note Not the gearbox one! Chris
