ok well in the scheme of things i think EIP are hard to beat and have some tempting swag and after speaking to them on the phone, they are more than happy to talk and know what they are actually talking about! Pistons 3.1L NORMALLY ASPIRATED Piston Set (83mm) For use with 95.6mm crank! £462 Rods 3.1L 12V VW VR6 4340 Chromemoly Rods x6 £692 Head Gasket Each EIP 12V VR6 3 Layer metal head-gasket is manufactured from multiple layers of steel to make certain that the appropriate head to block seal is created, even under the challenging conditions of forced induction applications. We reduce compression a little more than 1 full point so it is just below 9:1. This is ideal because it still offers good efficiency and throttle response with the ability to safely run beyond 17psi boost on a stock enginewith the right turbo system. You can run beyond 35psi with this gasket with a built bottom end. £115 Camshafts Schrick Strip / Race Camshaft Set: For upper-end performance. > 276° Intake & 276° Exhaust Camshafts • 11.5mm Lift (Intake / Exhaust) • Overlap Intake: 112° • Overlap Exhaust: 112° These should make a huge difference with an over bore and long throw crank and with 11.5mm live, gives the charger lots of valve opening to fill the cylinders with that valuable air. The duration is somewhat less than someof the other street cams at 112° of overlap where the street cams are generally 115° overlap. £508 Fuelling Extruded aluminum fuel rail for getting unrestricted fuel flow to the injectors! £7per foot Head Bolts HIGH TENSILE STRENGTH HEAD BOLT SET £104 That'll keep you going for now Anyone forun cheaper or better? I know that on some of these items carriage or/and duty may need to be paid Chris

Tuning the VR6! This could be the definitive thread for getting the best from the VR6 engine after some deliberation :!: If you know something special or more over, somewhere special where sell the juicy parts at reasonable prices then that's all the better but post your brain waves here. Cooling I think this kit looks excellent and for the price it would be a shame to let your engine get hot under the collar! £147 Crankshaft Since the cylinder sides are not expandable to every optional size, it is essential to install a appropriate crankshaft for further cubic capacity. £POA Conrods Special stock conrod, high-strength, super strong for extreme power increased highly tuned and revving engines. Of course items made to specification are possible. £1,914 Some of this stuff looks well prices, other things don't but there are plenty or companies around so the thread should yeild something good! EIP and plenty others do larger bore pistons which come with rings too! http://www.rp-motorsport.de/en/engine-t ... engine.htm http://www.rp-motorsport.de/en/engine-t ... istons.htm [rainbow]£920 for 6 inc rings![/rainbow] Chris

WOW i read all that without getting bored, good info! Thanks Chris

Funny words Dinkus. Chris

Stop being a mad fruit FFS and leave it alone will you, if it's a track car then F**k it, leave it unless you like sounding like Lee! Chris
-
easiest is a pillar mount with 2 or 3 in there as the important gauges are no use at all down in the center console! Depends what you want to put in there, can i ask? Chris
-
Don't like the non VR6 models Crap rear breakes, they rool away down hills when you leave them Door handles Chris

it get's confusing but i want a late ECU like a CP one which runs OBDI software, this sounds the simplest route however i run a dizzy so need to suss out what i need to change, Wires likes making lists up so maybe he will for this when it's sussed. H8RRA has a cam end cover and a few spares he got given over time so could be a thing to try but might also need a cam change or will i? Chris
-
Now that would be the conversion i'd be interested in, i know little about it ATM but there's got to be easier way to do it than the epicness of stepper motor throttle bodies etc etc. I live and learn. Chris

IV Golf R32 - Interesting info on sales numbers
Chris VR6nos replied to K-rado's topic in General Car Chat
But this is a Corrado forum -
obvious really  Mine has outer edge wear on the tyres and the tracking is toe out! Chris
-
don't know but the higher the offset thte more you may need to use spacers to reduce the problems of fouling the strut Chris
-
Can the OBDI system be changed to support the cheaper and seemingly better Film maf in place of the Hotwire maf? In theory it should be possible as the late CP ecu uses the OBD2 MAF, but is still OBD1. I'm just wondering if VW recalibrated the CP ECU to run a film MAF as it's voltage outputs differ from the wire MAFs. i'd like to go P8Pro and dump the maf all together but that as lots of other things, are a long way off at the moment for me! Atn: G60 Corrado owners (don't know about the others)
Chris VR6nos replied to Tempest's topic in Engine Bay
who cares, the steering wheel was on the wrong site anyway! Seriously, is there any news or proof of the same happening to the VR fuel pipes, i know the issue with the exhaust isn't present but i have had issues with the crap clips and leaking fuel from the joint where the pipes join the fuel rail? Chris -
Sounds a bit rich up at 2%, poss drop it to 1.5 and prob get more power too as the burn will be more efficient! and less or no black smoke either. Chris
-
wow, pleased you crashed in your Corrado mate!!!!! A lesser car and you may not have been so well off for sure, my mate lost his leg in a shltty car and i'm sure he'd have kept it if crashed in a better car like a VW. Christ

Quite unintentionally...I've made my Corrado.....
Chris VR6nos replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
And i thought your car was brown, no hang on, i'm getting mixed up with A20 LEE's car! Chris -
We shall see what turns out, you looked at this a year ago paul, maybe longer even! I don't like the fit of that one and it's too thin and flimsy, needs a much better grade steel like T312 or T308 and thicker to fit better. Chris

Curious engine part 2 - RW1, ChrisHill, KevHaywire - thanks!
Chris VR6nos replied to Aus's topic in Engine Bay
Vag com? Chris -
Breather housing, which bit do you mean? I've seen a couple of production covers but in my opinion they were very flimsy and not up to the job! It's hard to get across the integrity and quality of the material but anything can be available, the only thing is the price, i would appreciate some kind of feelback on the price for frame of reference. Chris
