met one of those in tailand, they had a moped lol G60 for low down torque and more chuckable. VR6 for top end, sound track and more refined Both have completely diferent characters, you need to drive both really or at least get someone from here to take you out in both. Where you based?

i didnt realise until changing the injectors on mine it had 3 bolts missing of the inlet, but that didnt seem to cause any problems for me, no excuse for it happening in the first place though. Sounds like your getting lots of false readings from vagcom tbh. ill check with the guys at the garage i work tom and see what they think, they are pretty darn good with obscure what could have been disturbed problems!
-
what about V6's with superchargers though
-
Why did you swap to the Quaife box from the Gem mate?
-
mine were very harsh to start with. someone told me to set them hard and drive for 2 weeks then adjust them softer again. They are now as soft as poss on the back and half a turn front and i think they are great tbh. Not so good on 17s but on the 16s with a big drop they are no harsher than the OE setup imo you got new top mounts? if its clonking it may be those, or perhaps one is not seated correctly.

I run 30 front and 29 back with 205/40/17s on 8x17s. Mainly because im a bit of an old man when it comes to ride comfort. id take them up maybe 2psi for the track but then they got hot and increase anyway. But for the road 30/29 works for me :-)

either of the above, depending on budget!

Just spotted these during my usual wheel horing on German ebay, hav'nt seen them before?? http://cgi.ebay.de/Clear-front-indicato ... dZViewItem

It needs to be variable like the schrick though doesnt it?? You could mimick the initial inlet length and get a dollop more low down torque but if it wasnt variable the top end would be pants, and vice versa? That hows i thought it worked anyway and thats how modern 24v (inherantly un torquey motors like 16vs) get there torque spread, by continuously variable inlet lengths? Mind you, a lot of these short runner manis for FI VR6s are surposed to give no torque without FI due to being very short inlet length, but Kev found no problem with his, or very little drop, so you may be able to create a more torque overall set-up if thats what your after?

Nice one! Yep at least he came clean, gutted to see it but looks like it will get sorted. Try and save the message whatever format it was in, just in case the £££s scare him!

Cant answer your question, but ive liked the way your going about your mods from the start. Looks the dogs and i cant wait to see your RR results. You deserve some healthy numbers after doing so much yourself too. Fingers crossed!

Interesting, Colbornes?? Would they be the VAG dealer shown on all my service history by any chance. I thought they nolonger existed? If they do im happy because they could stamp my log book from 30 to 100ks worth of servicing, which would be nice!! Sorry to hijack your post Phil!! -

Skoda, 170bhp what more do you need to know! ORRRRRRRRR what about a bm 330D?? I went in a chipped one last weekend and i think the torque dislodged some of my internal organs! -
Cant say fairer than that, at its obviously working! That golf you showed me at the RR day was awsome, couldnt beleive how low the engine sat :-o
-
where do you find all these awsome parts mate!! cant wait to see your C back in action
-
I can see Kev's car running that sort of power in a yr or so :-O

i really dont like that centre consule, its that horrid cheap britle cack plastic thats caused me some serious swearing and money! Thanks to MisVW i have a replacement centre consule and i will be leaving it well alone!
-
right, ive given up with cutting centre consules to peices!! Stereos going in the glove box, got a really nice angled 3 gauge din plate from venum to go in the original stereo hole. Got some nice digital gauges from ebay (thegaugeplace). 3 coloured sweep round the edge and blue led digital readout in the centre. i have sat here egr, air fuel and boost all matching :-) Aquamist gauge is going in the air vent. All look much more subtle than they sound, will post picks tommorrow when i fire them up.

That sucks! the polish has helped a fair bit though, im suprised any of that came out! Will the dog owner pay for it then or not??

The openning scene in american history x looks mighty apealing right now i bet. take out eh rasist element and thats what i call payback. saw lads on the roof of my 312,000 mile jetta i used to go looking for corrados out of my window one morning at 3 am. phoned the police and they came out the following day at 1pm. still, i guess they wer'nt speeding hey. really feel for you Grimmy. you must pass salisbury/andover on your way to and fro, have to pop in and say hi.
-
I'd say $300 or up to £150 if someone really wants it max. I can understand that as it is a nice wheel, i dont like any of the new momos etc.
-
your car is mad, even the rubber gaitor in the door openning looks brand new! gauge looks superb mate, great work. as mines now off the road again )bangs head against nearest wall) i will be trying again to sort the gauge out so could really do with one of these now Ive spent days p,,ing around with the stupid centre dash trying to fitt a 3 gauge pod and im never going to be happy with that method, so these are the answer!

I always thought the Porsche Cayman was a bit plain..
