My boss picked up his new cayman a few days ago and i went to have a squizz thismorning. He had ordered optional 18s, lowered suspension, carbon, half leather etc. They look iffy in pictures, but boy did it look awsome in the flesh and sound sweet too. Got to say, I absolutely loved it!

You should have 2 wiring blocks in the corrado, one with 8 speaker wires going into it, and also another one that has all the power cables/earth/dimmer etc etc going into it. These should both plug into the block that comes off your stereo, which may have one big block that they both plug into or two separate ones that they both push into. Confussed by your use of the word harness but asume we are both thinking of the same thing. You sure it hasnt just slipped down the back somewhere?

theres a lady i see most mornings driving the most stupidly mint original G60 ive ever seen. She has grinned and waved a couple of times. I peered into the car one day and its got less than 20k on the clock! I get the impression she's probably had it from new too. Must have a chat next time is see her, but im normally late for work :-( oh and yeah, loads of girlies with Cs Scarlet, Nikki, Wendy, Judeth, girl i sold my last set of wheels too, my mum now has a 10v UR Quattro if that counts !

My Mrs saying we need to sell the vento and my C and buy a deisal estate. However, we are now selling the vento and buying a very cheap old passat instead. I am under the thumb, but everyone has their limits. ;-)

Bit too fusy, too much going on for my eyes! I think taking into account all factors the 16" speeds are the best wheels ive ever had, but the oetts are on at the momment and i like the way they fill ther arches, just wish they were half the weight because the car handles like CR.P!! I have to sell a set though so i'll have to decide soon :x

I have trauled through all the post on the search but im still getting nowhere trying to fit the audi gauge panel. If anyone can help with any of the following id be very grateful! How do you get the centre consule out? Do you use both the cut down audi plastic cover which i have managed so far, and the metal plate or just the front plastic? In the centre consule theres a screw in the way top left, loathed to hack all that out because surely that holds the centre consule in? How do you secure any of it to the car! You have to remove the side brackets on the audi metal bit because theyd never bend in far enough without ruining it, so cant use those because ive cut em off. BTW i have the vag lower gauges too, but im sure this should all still fit?? Keen to get it finished as half the wiring is out of the car trying to sort all the aquamist and these darn gauges and i want to make it to stealth! Ive got venoms nice three gauge holder but that definately wont go in so im back to audi set up or use the venom one up top and relocate the stereo, which is looking more temting by the second!! might just throw it in the glove box bth Anyone been through all this and made it work! :oops: :( i know im being a nonse

MK1 you'd have to pay show money for one as they are the onyl decent ones left MK2 i had a hell of a job finding a minter 2yrs ago, must have looked at 30 plus ranging from £700 to £3800!! The best by far was an 8v 1 owner on steels with the original cassete FH on 69k. He looked in parkers and put it up for the VG condition price of 1400. Kept 9 months and sold it for 3450 with a set of rims on. They are there but you have to see them as they are listed and be very lucky! 6mnths into having my C i would have swapped back in a flash!despite the £££s i made. Had 16vs before and never warmed to them like the 8v. They are effective, but i didnt like the characteristics 1.8 8v or 2.0 8v are one of the best engines ever made bar none imo. Mk3s too heavy for it to be proper fun, but its still a good all rounder. Buy an 8v corrado mate, and i hope your not thinking of leaving Cs altogether, the forum would be far to PC without you ;-)

im not sure stealth rollers over read, every car ive seen thats been roaded there and then somewhere else has allways read lower to stealth, never much in it though. You stick a 100k 1.8 8v mk2 gti on anyones rollers and they are allways in the mid 120s standard. must admit i am totally flumuxt by how the transmition losses/ambients calcs work though on any of them. VR1s do seem to pull well at the top dont they, and i think they are better than the V9 if you want to start running pucker boost? Is that why the American guys see more power than us on most UT clips ive seen, because they all seem to run the V1s?

As you have said trigg, you have to treat a corrado as a hobby. I think we've all been through periods of doubt and want shot, but if someone gave me £15k tommorrow and said spend it all on a fun car i would be stumped. The only thing thats stirs my soul (within reason) is the last of the aircooled 911's. My father bought his mk4 1.8t gti with 300mls, its a 99 car and now has 37,000mls on. Despite him being as mechanically sympathetic as anyone ive ever seen drive his bills have added up to over 4k since the warranty ran out (not at vw prices either!). Newer car doesnt mean more reliable. You know your car, you know its faults, it still gets you to work. Its because we all get attached to them that makes us get so upset when every little thing is not perfect. If it were a focus 1.6 you wouldnt give a monkeys if something small didnt work id bet. Your car is one of my fav's and a credit to you i think. Personally id be very sorry to see you get rid of it. Im struggling to keep mine financially at the mo, but im determined its staying. (i dont think youd find a better one if you sell and want to get another one down the line) stick it on a 5k a yr low mile policy and buy yourself an old deisal passat saloon to rag to work and back for a few hundred quid!

The finsh quality on new speedlines is far better than on comps NO QUESTION. Not dissing your wheels Trigg ive allways liked them, and my speedlines are refurb finish, but out of the box theres no comparison between Speedline and Compos

Karl you git! I want your torque. Sweet figures and I have to say after a couple of months of driving i cant fault my mafless map one jot, smooth isnt it! Be nice to catch up at the RR day, apps for not being in touch recently, flocking work and babies = zilch free time at the mo :-(

Yep, i used them for years and they are very helpful. Mark is a Dubber too and has had a raddo vr6 and an S3. Only down side is they could'nt insure me at all when i put the charger on, so im flux capacitored now, and had no problems. JT, stick with it son, sounds like if you get to speak to the man you will probably get a consession. I know its the principle more than the 120, but its worth him knowing.
