I've spent an hour spinning through the search and have several different answers to this one! Which wire do i connect the signal wire to my AFR gauge too from the Lambda. Before and after the multi plug would be nice to know if possible cheers guys? im thinking the red and white wire, engine side of the plug looks like a winner. basicaly just cuz its red so it must send something  :?:

Don't take this as me patronising you, but are you sure the battery is flat, or are you just going by the fact its very slow to start or does'nt start? Only reason i ask is just in case your reading that to mean the battery is flat it may just be the cable to the start coroded up. Mine did that, you'll see lots of green where it bolts on to the starter. If it is dont do what i did and brake the bolt out of the starter trying to undo the nut, its set in plastic (nice one VW) Ignoring the above, we had a whole batch of bad Bosch batteries recently. Very rare though i have to say.

whens the best time of year to sell your car?
NickVR6 replied to g60greeny's topic in General Car Chat
there is'nt a good time to sell a corrado, but if you have to id say spring/early summer. don't do it ! -
Amazing car, and i have to say its one that looks even better in the flesh than it does in the picks. One of the tidiest C's i've ever seen, just lovely!

good on you cazza, awsome looking motor indeed :-)

i did think the plstic was for a reason, swings and roundabouts i guess! thats why i added that it had lasted 140k! problem is because ive been upgrading everything, fitting oil coolers etc etc trying to drop the temps, i think its now too cool! I did 400 miles today visiting the mad haywire and the water sat just under 80 on the gauge and the oil never got over 80 lol. When i bought the thing the oil was on 118 and water around 100 all the time!! I know mine will run cooler with fi though, as Vince maps them on the safe side, so more fuel = cooler temps. Car seemed very happy all day they, very consistant and pulled like hell with some nice cool air today. oh and yes, engine out because my block was so rusty round the crack pipe it needed to be properly machined back to a nice smooth surface, and you cant get in there. Its my 3rd crack pipe so just wanted it sorted once and for all, as they should last 10+yrs without leaking. Its one of those things, you can fanny around all day playing contorsionist and brake other bits or take a step back and think f-it, wouldnt it be easier if it was right in front of you! Easy to say that though when you have access to all the gear ;-)

GUTTED dude, does'nt sound like your sulking though, straight into repair and make better mode ;-)

from my understanding nos actually acts as a coolant in the combustion process, but due to normally bumping up the power primarily it will put more strain on everything too. ive got an intercooler recently which fits perfectly and the surface area is almost exactly the same as the plastic trim just above the splitter (easier on a golf!) ive been guaranteed a boost drop of less than 1psi and it was under a 1er! im also plumming in the mist as we speak. Going to wait on the intercooler and smaller pulley until the engine gets rebuilt and i can afford a short runner though :-( your lucky running the vortec on a golf 3, they do a toothed belt kit dont they? so once youve made up your mind on the above you can go mad with pulley sizes!!

Rad swap on VR6 so what else to do.. Oil cooler, thermostat?
NickVR6 replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in Engine Bay
i think the stock fans are fine unless you want more space for different IN Manis or running proper FI. Just make sure they are working on all 3 speeds, more often than not they ar;nt! Nice car btw, you got a very good buy there!! -
Rad swap on VR6 so what else to do.. Oil cooler, thermostat?
NickVR6 replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in Engine Bay
Defo do the blue sender that sits in the rad. I think the oil cooler is a good one to do and i did while mine was standard still. Having owned golf and vento vr6s in the past they sat at 90 on the oil on the motorway. Really had to thrash them to death to hit 100 on the mfa, where as my corrado sat at 110-118 just cruzing! The mocal knocked it down to 96-100 instead :-) Just ask Vince the ratio of 2.9 rebuilds he does vs 2.8s in golfs etc and look at how many more 2.8s there are about and its a no brainer. There are more factors involved but this is one of them imo, others will prob argue that though. I would say though mate, the oil cooler can be done any time without touching the rad, so no real saving there. -
Well after 3 weeks off the road and missing the RR day my cooling problems are now explained   Anyone removed one worse than this!! ?? I've replaced it with a euro car parts one with a metal impeller, the rest appears identicle though, oh and it was less than £20 rather than £65 from the stealer! I will say though, the original pump has done nearly 140k and the bearings were fine!! Pump literally fell out which was cool, but it turns out the new crack pipe was leaking a lot of coolant as we couldnt get it to seal properly due to rust on the block, so we took the engine out. IT WAS THE ONLY WAY to machine the block surface back to get a good seal  All done though and coolant has dropped 15deg 8) and after an hour long run in period (between 4000 and 6000rpm  ) im in love with my car once more.

mines been doing exactly that for about a yr. sticks when cold basicaly. master cylinder is not a huge amount in the scheme of things, but its a ripper dealer price (as usual). £70 rings a bell. im going to leave mine until it gives up completely. I have changed the fluid too :-(

bargain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CITY!! Nice to meet up last night Dave, give me a buz if you get stuck with the brakes ;-)

they will look great, and flat on is never the most flatering wheel angle on the C imo. Gonna be cool, quality brand with some heritage too ;-)

mmmm torque monster and one of the best sounds on the planet = DO IT!

Stel, were you running yours late on the sunday!?? If so i have a feeling its yours i have video clips of! The one i saw looked black though but i cant be sure. It revd VERY quickly but seemed to have a big pause between 1st and 2nd. Is it You!?
-
lol, you can put that in with broad beans n sweetcorn too. Good news indeed, cant wait!
-
Nice work Ross!! Undecided on that. I allways prefered mk2's with a single light grill and no spots as it makes them look wider, and the fogless bumper is a similar thing to my thinking. Tricky one, i reckon it could look quite cool

tyres cloud the issue and they are michies so worth some money. A proper powder coat refurbs going to cost you at least £30 per wheel and you wont pay much less than £70-100 for these wheels in shabby state. I think £230 would be a much better figure though. But......... they are not as described though, and if they are not good enough for you its a no brainer because then youll have to pay on top of all this to have them done again!! I would look very closely at that pitting on the rear and make sure thats not some alloy repair work there from a previous crack or something. Im sure its not but from the pick it looks similar to one i had that had been and is portentailly dangerous! Dont want to put a further downer on your mood but wouldnt want to see you coming unstuck on the move!

still negociating Jim, have to tread careful as the wifes just swapped her vento for a passat tdi so i can keep my corrado :-o

like the tacho, but they dont do those for uk rhd do they??
-
its all between 4and6k mate, and it doesnt drop off in 5th, still pulling like a train at 140. you need to get your foot into the carpet to get the best out of the charger for sure, but when you do its quite a suprise i still find! hopefully you can give mine some proper abuse before xmas :-)
-
what did you think of Karl's then Jim? sorry mine was sick!
