running modernlines 9x16 all round on mine! you wont have as much a problem with a 16v as its not as wide track as the vr up front, i have some minor scrub but its running low on 205/40 tyres. need to get my arches rolled as its pretty bad if i have passengers in the back, look in my thread for pics mate :)

you have too many engines, ill either have your 2.8 and get chubba to install it with 2.9 throttle and mani or get on with the charging and let me have your new obd2 abv seriously tho id love to supercharge mine eventually but cant do that untill i put in a newer/fresher engine otherwise id be wasting money, but at the mo shes seems to be running well and manged to keep up with yours even tho shes on 149k! think few meets are a must this year, did you hear back from that guy about the polishing for circa £80? id def like to give mine a look over. and id love a new shiny mani but not sure i can afford it yet and would just me something else to clean in the engine bay!
-
Look forward to the next drive out then mate, yours will be sounding as nice as mine soon then when you get your bmc ;) i wont be able to keep up! Think the tidy meet is this sunday if your game, should be mid afternoon, 3ish? cold see if few others are about?
-
Sorry mate have only just seen your post, I'm busy 2m (manchester derby and rugby) but apart from cleaning the car I'm free Sunday if that's not too late? if so send me your mob no and I can take some pics in the morning of what you need and mms them across. If not can head over Sunday. Yeah Chubba did a great job! Manifold looks good and gives a deeper note. And he sorted a knocking I had that I couldn't locate, was the cat against the heat shield :) so super chuffed

How's it getting on mate, looking awesome in the pics. Super smooth and clean, the wheels should set it off :) well have to make the nexttidy meet or have a mini rado meet here in Bournemouth

Bought a few bits for the car over Xmas and thought I'd do an update. Not massively Into music in the car, i love my tunes but also love the VR soundtrack having the window down, so i wanted to keep it all standard using the factory locations and keeping it minimal. i bought some jbl gto 6x4 rears, inphase 5.25 components up front and an alpine iPod headunit. Inphase speakers seemed to have good reviews on the net and they were pretty cheap so i thought id give them a go ,plus i liked the look of the yellow woofers 8) Fitting the 6x4s required quite a bit of trimming from the original mounts but after some hack sawing they fit pretty snug and give a much more refined sound in the back now. its far from thumping bass, just tight and punchy. drilled out the old tweeter and used the factory mounts in the dash, pretty pleased how well they went together and i like the subtle glimpse of yellow through the grills, gives a nice contrast to the black leather interior treated the engine bay to a 6 branch too, was in two minds whether to leave it as is, or wrap it but as nice as it looks and it was a shame to cover it up i bught some wrap and covered it up to keep heat down and keep the exhaust gasses flowing faster. The wrap was such a #### to fit, i wanted to try and get it as perfect fit as possible but the fact i was wearing a short sleeve t-shirt and no gloves didn't help! the fibreglass made my arms itch and from soaking the wrap to fit it well and let it dry and tighten, my hands and fingers were black and took days of scrubbing to clean up! all sorted now tho and got Ramsy's mechanic he's used for his storm to fit the manifold, top notch bloke and sorted out a slight knocking too i had from the cat on the heat shield i think? just out of interest have others who have fitted a 6 branch wrapped it and used the oem heat shield? he didn't put it on but i thought as its all wrapped up it would be sufficient? was only a short drive home so didn't really give it any to test it out but im off to bath over the weekend so will ave plenty of miles to give her a test drive. up next is a big clean and save for a black vinyl roof i think and get the rear end sprayed 8)

Looks great mate, remember this car back when peanut had it and have pics of it on my pc with the wide rims, looked awesome then and still does :)

205/40 nankangs on my 9" schmidts. Had no problems with grip but I don't go flying round corners had loads of trouble trying to find a decent brand in this size and wanted toyos but in the end settled for nankangs as they're soft and give a smooth stretch :)

Looking good so far mate, think shell be ready for the tidy meet in feb? cheers for the help with the battery last week, fitted new stereo today and just the passenger components to fit 2m. Manifold is all wrapped and dropping it off to Chubba on weds to collect thurs hopefully? mentioned to him about the weaping bead gasket and he said he'll look?

oh mate, so sorry to hear about this, hate reading about these things happening as you just know the police wont find them and these mindless vandals will get away with it, and your insurance will go up and you'll suffer the consequences. hope it can be sorted without too much hassle! -
If the car is local to you then you could just take a look if you like it? Can't hurt, the guys getting a hard time because he can't spell and it may well be the case he's a bit of a dosser but giving the benefit of the doubt the car generally looks in good condition, nothing too crazy bar the 10" rears! The interior would benefit from a good scrub, I wouldn't pay more than 3k and then leather would finish it off. Pictures can be deceptive but everything has potential ;) just because it might have cheaper suspension and wider wheels won't necessarily make it dangerous, I run a low car with wide wheels as it's my preference, driving safely will obviously help, driving a tricycle can be dangerous In the wrong hands ;) As said tho there's been some very nice cars advertised on here lately, just depends on your budget and future plans. If you viewed this at least you could be sure the guys a bit of a geezer and talking crap? You never know He may love his cars and it's well looked after? Hope you find one soon :)

Iirc a VR is about 35 on the new scale, storms about 37 I think. Can check at work on our vehicle listings if anyone wants to know. Scale is from 1-50. one of the girls at work the other month asked me what a shelby cobra Was and I explained and asked why, and she said oh, some guy wants to add one onto his Insurance worth over 80k, needless to say the system didn't like that! Cobra is a grp 50btw :)

Id just bite the bullet mate and get some quotes, herts, brentacre, Adrian flux. Plenty to choose from. I work in insurance so just be honest with them and always say you have a lower figure elsewhere to see if they can match it? Iirc I think a valveris about grp 15/16 and VR 18, and a storm 19. Good luck :)

Mate they look awesome! more so because of the green i think. not sure how theyd work on other colours but definate thumbs up from me!! 8)

Good stuff mate, love to see it when it's finished. mine should be the only only twilight violet VR running 9x16 modernlines in Bournemouth, well probably one of very few in the uk? Where was I? I had heard good things about both those paintshops but again reputations vary? I think Darren @ g werks used or knows the guy who runs CCW in Poole, atleast I think he did when I took my g60 to g werks. If your guys good value may have to give him a call in few months to paint my rear ;)
-
im sure you know more than me rams but have you tried kustom kolors in xchurch or creative colour workshop in poole? le me know what you find, need some paint in the coming months and not sure where would be best/cost effective?
-
looking at that retrimmers website i can see where your coming from, the black leather and red carpet looks great in the ferrari retrim pics! but they are red on the exterior so im not 100% it would go with mystic blue? i do love red leather seats tho and black carpet so it could well work! get some red sugar paper and line the floors as a test 8)

Whereabouts in Rotherham is that? It's on monks close in kimberworth at my dads house
-
Lol, I'm only 25 but I try to look after the car like my unborn child 8) and driving it in this weather is killing me, if I had some old banger I wouldn't be bothered but everytime I hit high snow my splitter is getting hammered and trying to pull the car up on an invisible curb I know will have damaged the wheels, just pains me to care so much about the car that I'm not enjoying it like I would be an old run about! Wish it was back home under cover but have to pop to Sheffield hospital and also move the last bits from my grandads house and get him some food shopping as buses aren't running and he gave his new passat to my mum! Gotta love family tho! Just hope m1 clears up for me to get back down south where there's not even a drop of snow a about!
-
Not crashed in the snow and I'm hoping that it stays that way but my grandad is moving house and my gran has been taken I'll in hospital in Sheffield so I've come up from Bournemouth to Rotherham and it's a complete White out up here, not enjoying the snow at all as the cars taking a hammering being so low and on stretched tyres. dreading the amount of scratches that the snow/ice/grit will be doing to the car :( I wouldn't drive if it wasn't needed but wishing I had little metro or something now :) How the car looked this morning!
