  1. I didnt think she would but a rather eventful drive back from NR with 2 VR's showed me otherwise - they start getting the better of her at 135... but up til then she can stay with them.... tis fun.... :)
  2. Nevermind the bloomin’ interior – if you end up with mine you’ll be keeping up with VR’s for valver money… now that’s good value….! :)
  3. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... highlight= been done already.....
  4. Well, that’s a load of tosh…! How many valvers have you driven? if they were so crap how come we all havn’t upgraded to a VR long ago…? You obviously didnt read my post properly. Heres a quote! Emphasis on the bracketed comment! Yeah, I saw, I can read… but why you would even think that I have no idea, how many valver owners come on here and complain about how they are to drive….
  5. Well, that’s a load of tosh…! How many valvers have you driven? if they were so crap how come we all havn’t upgraded to a VR long ago…? There is a certain ‘exclusivity’ that some people seem to have about the VR, people seem to automatically want one cos it’s the fastest with the biggest engine, and that’s fair enough, they are fantastic cars, but that doesn’t mean they suit everyone! 5k is a lot of money for a 12 year old car if your not an enthusiast or 100% if you want one, I’d say get a valver (1.8 is slightly quicker but the 2.0 is torquier and slightly younger so may have less miles on it etc), you’ll get a good one for 2k, and then see how it goes… you can always upgrade in the future…. I love driving Boyfs VR but I wouldn’t have ever traded my valver for one….. My old 2ltr got 30mpg when ragged and 38mpg when not – you’ll struggle to get that from a VR…..
  6. Like to see ya try :) i will.. honest....!!!!! silver, or black or something... not red again, but only cos i have now ran out of 'red' names for them... so, 16v any plans to sell yours....!!!?
  7. whatever drugs your taking at the mo Dom, can you bring them with you tomorrow night when your coming over...?! :)
  8. big chunk of metal or living breathing creature.... hmmmmm... :) at the end of the day there are good corrados out there - horses like the one I have found are rare.... !!! plus Boyf's vr6 is there when i want it.... i'll be back... am even thinking about buying a different colour next time...!
  9. fcuking hilarious....! i had a corsa sxi for a while - complete piece of schit tbh.... 25mpg and was beaten by old ladies in nissan bluebirds on a regular basis... my only pleasure in it was kerbing the alloys to hell by using them to find where the kerb was while parking - gave it back and bought a cherokee.... :)
  10. ...mmm.... better give her a wash before then i suppose.... just wait til you drive her.... ;) absolutely - just hadnt told him that yet....!!! :)
  11. eh... someone mention my name...? or more correctly, my car...? looking forward to Jim coming to see her - ideally i want her to go to an enthusiast home where all the time and effort thats obviously gone into her before will be appreciated and where she will continue to be looked after properly, so yes, I have fingers crossed for Sunday.... whatever happens at the weekend Jim, its nice to see your heading back to the fold, whether in my car or not - welcome back!!! :)
  12. nooooooooooo! tis better to buy it all seperate... the old Turbo technics kits that Stealth fitted are a bit out of date and tend to still be expensive... where abouts are you? I know of a couple of good VW places that i spoke to when i looked into it who could give you advice and prices... i'll try and Pm the info and list of bits you need to you - if I can find it....! :)
  13. yup - turbo the 2ltr....... you can do it for less than 2k if you dont mind finding all the bits 2nd hand..... you'll easily achieve 250bhp... :)

welcome!!! 1. not sure on the airbag thing but I'm sure someone will know....! 2. yup!!!! 3. again yup!!! storms are std vr6 but only in a dark shade of blue that i cant remember the name of and cant be bothered looking up (mystic - thanks Steve!!) with (black leather) or classic green (cream leather) with colour coded grille and solitude wheels.... oh, and the storm badges!!! only 250 were made in each colour..... 4. depends on the offset and how low your car is dropped if at all.... although you will compromise ride quality and handling on 17's.... 5. milage is nothing...! if its been well looked after (mine is on 164k and runs better than ever) then dont be put off by milage - although on a high milage vr you might want to check the chains have been done - although dont worry too much about it though, there are cars on spaceship milage that are still on original chains - strong things theses VW engines.... Good luck in the hunt mate...! if i were you, and could afford it, i'd take a look at this one..... she is a beauty... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41769 :)

wheels look good mate but the new ones will look a million times better..! cant wait to see the pics of them, you lucky git!!!! :)
  17. Very true! I just take offence when people slag off the 16v for not being quick enough – its an old, heavy car, what do they expect!!!? In its day, 12-13 years (or more) ago it was a quick car and would have taken a lot of its rivals off the lights no probs, now a 1.8 or 2 ltr engine is nothing when so many cars have engines that size in their base models!! With the Corrado it’s a whole package IMHO, the car may not be the quickest anymore but that is made up for in sooooo many other ways… unfortunately so many people who look into buying a rado only look at the figures on paper and have no idea yet about everything else they are buying into!!!! I dread the day mine is sold and driven away…. :( Best idea – drive one…!
  18. depends what you do to it and how you drive it...! my 2 ltr will see off a golf mk3 VR6, and it only has the KR cam mod, and from experience of having a standard 2ltr previously if you catch it at 4,000rpm you will see off quite a few other similar spec-ed cars on the road easily... you do need to learn how to drive them to get the best out of them.... the 1.8 allegedly is slightly faster 0-60, but the 2ltr is torquier and will eventually see the 1.8 off.... i would ignore the top speed figures too... i got a GPS confirmed 144 from mine when hitting the redline in 5th, on a private road of course!!! :)
  19. Hiya... their aint a huge amount of difference between them, the 2ltr is torquier, younger and is usually with the late body/interior which most people prefer.... I believe the 2ltr is easier to tune, whack in the KR cam for more power, although a 1.8 owner will prob come tell me thats wrong... and now for the shameless plug - Its poss out of your budget by my 2ltr is for sale - have a look at this.... :) http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41191
  20. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... hlight=cam have a look at this.... and do a search for KR cam on here. its been discussed a million times!!! I have a standard 2ltr with the KR cam fitted and a Jetex air filter and I get 158bhp, never got round to doing the cat bypass though, dunno if its worth it now with the MOT regulations that are in force.... HTH
  21. yup - you are mad...! welcome to the club....! I had to put my first valver back together and I was gutted to sell her as we had put a lot of effort in but the call of my everything-works-perfectly current valver was too much, now I find its a bit boring to have one that needs nothing done to it! She has no 'personality' if you know what I mean.... :) Once I sort out selling mine and buying my horse I will be picking up another cheap valver to lavish with all my time and money.... joy.... :D
  22. Espace home made convertible in a car wash..... bloody classic...... :)
  23. welcome aboard mate..! nice polo..... :)
  24. oooooh... i'd have that.... nice!!!
