  1. Cheers Dinky toy will let you know in the thread.
  2. A bigger intercooler will give some pressure drop but should feel more responsive when it usually gets hot and heat soaked on the old 1, you should still feel it been more consistent power and probably slightly quicker on the bum.
  3. Im sure alot of us would, i would bid @ 7k i think, just dont have 7k burning 1 very big hole in the trou @ the mo. Agree for the money i would want leather Recaro etc. Its all in the detail.
  4. I think so yes, better throttle response, more free revving, dont believe the old Gean Turismo "you lose speed up hills"
  5. Kind of boring really the corrado then, not surprised he doesnt use it.
  6. Not my cuppa but surely if they are custom made then they could be made sided /directional if you know what i mean. Fair play
  7. If worse comes to worse and i have to remove my engine, what specialist tools may i need, so far i know i need an engine crane but how about driveshafts etc. Just waiting for my Irwin bolt grips to turn up mid week hopefully that may avoid the situation.
  8. Yep come to that conclusion now, basically i can get 5 out of 6 studs out that hold the inlet mani on, 3rd from left in the pic is unaccessable due to the design of the exhaust mani, the turbo bolts on right there, so its an engine out jobby. As it stands this is the last chance for this engine, i really really do love its character with bags and bags of low to mid grunt and mid to high power, but it needs a rethink, so whilst its out its geting rebuilt/upgraded again. It def needs a cross flow head, im going to stick with the 8v though, forged rods to up the boost slightly ( i am determind to get it running 2 bar) ARP studs/bolts etc, new custom inlet mani and a rethink on the pipework/intercooler most likely. Can a mod do the honours of moving this thread into my members gallery please.
  9. Has anybody got a picture of the corrado recaro seat plug for the heated seats please? Or can you describe it? Ideally a picture though, i cant get to mine as its on axle stands in my garage so not enough room to work with.
  10. Yea spotted a problem, its called a G60 engine The downpipe gasket is def blowing but im not sure if the exhaust manifold to head or manifold to turbo is foobared too, just had a look now its in the daylight and on the underneath of the inlet mani there is black soot which i think looks like something has been blowing onto it.
  11. Just noticed your picture supercharged and oh FFS
  12. I can get a 14mm socket on which is the size and it grips fairly well till you put pressure on so i doubt i can get a 13mm or equivilant in imperial, too tight to try and knock something on too. Riley, where is this 13mm nut thats connected to the inlet and exhaust as i suspect i no longer have that.
  13. Think i might just whip the engine out and put in a 20vt
  14. Also looking at my brake lines yesterday, what constitutes a corroded to excess brake pipe, as yes there is corrosion but to me they look ok, nothing a very quick scrub down wouldnt sort out, im sure they were changed approk 3-4 years ago so surely they cant have corroded to excess in that time with approk 20k on them.
  15. I take it the inlet mani has a different gasket to the exhaust gasket then too, as in its 2 gaskets and not 1 for the lot?
  16. Cheers Dan i def need 1 of those kits, anybody know where i can get a set locally kind of thing as i need them asap really. Basically i am trying to sort out the blowing gasket i have and i have traced it out to the gasket thats between the turbo exhaust housing to downpipe, but who ever thought it was a good idea to mount a turbo behind the engine under the inlet manifold is an idiot lol. I have got 4 out of 5 bolts removed but the last 1 i cant see but could get a socket on with an extension bar, it was turning but very slowly and 1/8th of a turn each time but was very very tight, kept going and all felt good, slipped a couple of times and thats enough for it to be rounded off enough so it cant grip anymore, how does those socket grips grip on a rounded head then? So all this above means i need to get the inlet mani off to see what im working on, is it only those allen key bolts that hold it on as thats all i can see, do i need to put a new gasket on the things i take off, suppose i may as well do whilst im in there.
  17. Can the inlet manifold come off the engine without taking the injectors and rail off on a G60? Anybody know how to remove a very tight nut thats rounded off?
  18. Going to start sorting my car out and i need to replace the front copper brake lines. I will be ok actually making the lines themselves but how do i go about removing the old ones etc, basically is it inevitable i need to make a mess with brake fluid, do i need to top up and bleed the brakes after, if so can i just top up again or is it a full fluid change, which has been done already 2-3 years ok with no more than 10k on them. Also what size pipe doi need? Any tips greatly appreciated. Simon
  19. Also im sure big bens seats were fixed backs
  20. 80k means its just going to start breaking lol
  21. Thats the biggest turbo i have ever sen man and coloured red too, suits the paintwork nicely. My 285 cam was not lumpy at all with a stage 4, 68mm, big valve head, just carried on pulling on and on upto the limiter.
  22. New M3 coupe in white ftw they look so friggin hard.
