called jabba today, gonna send it back there for warrenty work. the bloke sounded very nice and helpful. The certificate that came with the rebuild is marked to have everything except the main shaft replaced. the bedding in period was followed religiously, not over 4k rpm for 500 miles but i have hit the limiter twice since (not too bad in 4 months and 4k miles though) will have to get the charger removed and sent to jabba
-
wow! thanks for the quick replies, only done about 10 miles. looks like i'll be calling jabba tomorrow then.....bloody cars, need a cheaper hobby

driving home last night and i started to smell burning oil, and low and behold when i looked in my mirror there was a nice blue haze behind me. There is oil in the boost pipes and throttle body so am i correct in thinking it's the charger? it's only 4 months old from a jabba rebuild :(

As far as in know, it's not a legal requirement to have a cat after '92/93, but the emission laws became alot stricter then so cats are normally needed to pass the test. If you pass without a cat there is no problem in not having one but it's unlikely you will pass.

JK from jamiroquai lives about 5 miles from me and i've seen him about. on foot and in his enzo. robin gibb from the bee gees lives near by and so does rowan atkinson so car spotting is good here, just want to see jk and mr bean race the enzo and the mclaren :D jeremy irons is also close by, the bucks, oxfordshire border is good for the rich peeps

 missed that post, then i'm flummoxed too

i still had an indicated 163bhp and 152lbft when my timing was out so it ran okish, just felt like i was driving into a head wind which i would have thought is how a low comp engine would run with out compressed induction (don't quote me on this though), and i'm thinking the jumpiness from a standstill is the thing flooding.
-
as a warning, the timing procedure on these cars is odd, make sure the garage know what they are doing and have the right tools for the job
-
i had a similar prob where my car drove like a bag of poo, ended up being the timing being retarded, just getting the timing right gained almost 30bhp and over 30lb/ft now drives sooooo much better. get the timing checked is my advice
-
yeah, it'll rev easier so you can get into the power band quicker, but it wil become more difficult to get up steep hills
-
they are lovely (please add sarcasm where appropriate)

the corrado has made it into the top 5 future classics list on msn! 2 articles in 24 hours, not bad at all http://cars.msn.co.uk/carnews/top5classicsaug05/ storm only though :(

red valver down park street in Thame i see when I sometimes pick a mate up to go to work. G60Renshaw i see the red C in bierton everytime I drive through, not seen a blue one there though
-
sorry to hear that dude :( if you can get the car recovered to your home do, you can the strip it of all you want, as soon as it enters a yard the insurance company own it and you won't be able to get the good stuff back so easily. my fingers are crossed for you, good luck
-
try these guys, my car had a warranty when i bought it and was both over 100K miles and 10 years and they were happy to extend it after it had run out from the garage i got the car from auto protect 0870 766 6156
-
seizing or sticking brakes maybe?
-
can i ask why it's measured in a percentage, how does the amount of power lost throught the transmission change depending on the power of the engine. wouldn't it just drain a certain amount say 40bhp regardless of what power you are running

Stealth Racing..Customer Service second to none!
MattWilde replied to StormVR6's topic in Suppliers Forum
can't agree with you more, customer service is far more important than a lot of big companies realise, and after i took my car to stealth i was more than happy with the service and will definately go back -
i had a few probs with my clocks when i got my car, twitcy needles, tachometer was 500rpm out and mpg was up the spout. a new set of clock sorted it all out
-
cheers for the info darren
-
and do G60's take well to stand alone management like motec?
-
handling, torque and forced induction, i like b-road bashing so high top speed is pointless to me
-
well, if you are there you never know i might just say hello this time
