    Hot and cold

now the winter is setting in i have started to use my heater and it's acting a little odd. It blows out warm air super quick, i mean it's heating up in a couple of mins but after about 10-15 mins of it on full heat the air just turns cold no matter what setting the heater dial is on. oh, and the passenger carpet isn't wet. any ideas?
  4. need to... sort coolant leak ou fix heated seats replace the suspension, inc. bushes, mounts, shocks and springs get rid of the squeeks get black VW badges and a late style grille respray the car (well, the roof adn boot need it the most) get a girlfriend to try and curb my spending and i think that's it......

    6 speed

don't stealth do a 6 speed conversion that fits in the original housing?
  6. fitted new fuel filter and exhaust rubber mount so i now have no rattly exhaust and fixed a fuel leak i didn't know about :D oh and had to wash it again after the git next door had a fire and covered my car with ash!!
  7. i think the condition of the car helps the image too, most boy racer types don't look after their cars compared to someone who likes the car for it's merits and maintains a nice car be it a nova, escort or bmw. but most people around me think i'm a boy racer because my car makes a bit more noise than a new car and my age, but stuff 'em i'm just enjoying my hobby :)
  8. come on now kev, you know they would never believe that, G60's are infallable and will never be beaten

    Morning!

hello :D good luck with you corrado venture
  10. audi quattro s1 group b rally car, ugly but fast as *insert swear word here* and acceleration has always been more of a buzz than top speed to me
  11. check your secondary functions on the mfa, if the rev counter is working on the lcd display for the mfa then i would think it's your actual clocks as they both read from the same source, if the mfa reading doesn't work either then i don't know hth
  12. after looking at some of my cars history, my crank pully might still have a wobble, so i could do with this knowledge too
  13. That is hilarious, what a great website
  14. right, got a call from jabba today and all is fixed and on it's way back to the garage to be fitted to my car and all under the warrenty. so i'm impressed to be honest. just have to see how well this one works
  15. blue sensor dude, black sends the water temp to the dash gauge, and blue sends it to the ecu
  16. as long as my charger has been bedded in i'm game for some santa pod action, miss my civic a bit and would love to see some crx's
  17. woah there guys, no neeeeeeeeeed. this is just a friendly debate about a race, and for you crx guys there are a few posts on here for the crx, no matter how wrong the info may be, so be pleased we aren't ignorant to other cars, and to all: don't forget this is all in text and tone of voice isn't readable, so take it all in good faith and help people learn some stuff nicely :D (excuse me while i clean my halo lol)
  18. sounds like he has a big account with spoon
  19. best looking: lambo murcielago worst: citreon 2CV (might be what you are thinking of dazzy)
  20. i had a '92 Civic VTi for 3 years and loved it, but i've had a turbo and VTEC so the supercharger was next :D and the thing I love about jap cars is their efficiency, small engines with lots of power and reliability to boot. this is where i think VTEC fails in europe, people are used to cars breaking if you keep them in high revs, but in the 3 years I had the civic it never went wrong and I abused that car, holding 7K rpm around corners and changing just as the power dipped at just over 8K rpm. And there aren't many car companies that can get more than 100bhp per liter out of a N/A engine.
  21. i'd say, to win the race you have to get him off the line, for a decent start for him a 5500rpm launch is needed or he will bog down and your torque will get you away better, it's then just a case of not letting him pass, if it's time trials then i'm sorry to say but if it's a 160bhp VTi then he will win although it will be close. The honda engine is race derived with it's peak torque and HP at high rpm's, where as the G60 has a very good flat power curve, great for domestic driving but there aren't many race cars with those characteristics. just my humble opinion of course :) edited to say: alex, to confuse you more if it is an import JDM VTi, then it has a 1.5 engine with only the inlet cam having the Vtec, the JDM Si-R has the same engine at the VTi but with 170bhp due to better fuel there and a higher CR. And with the cam thing on the civic sport or the ESi engines then i think it's the inlet cam that has Vtec and the exhaust cam is standard.
  22. sorry dude, we seemed to be writing at the same time so that post didn't exist  i'm not going to swear on this, but i believe the glass backed crx had a B16A1 running on an older style ecu (obd1 i think) making 150bhp, the 2 seater had the B16A2 on the obd2 ecu and had 160bhp. I'm guessing you know how vtec works so i'll not be going into too much detail, but if you have a 16V head, then you need 4 lobes per cylinder for the inlet and exhaust valves. so the third lobe is the aggressive lobe that sits between the 2 normal lobes making 3 lobes. for there to be 2 lobes, one normal, one aggressive, then it won't be a 16V head. again, i'm not saying this is set in stone (my disclaimer ;))
  23. alex, i mean no offence so pleased don't take any :) but it depends on the crx, if it's the old wedge shape then it will have a B16A1 engine with 150bhp DOHC VTEC, if it's the late smooth shape then it will have the B16A2 engine which is 160bhp. Carrot is correct in that there was no B16c5, i think you are thinking of the intergra type r (DC2) which had the B18C engine, the civic was the B16B (EK9). All 16v vtec engines had tripple lobe cams, the difference was whether both inlet and exhaust cams were vtec(150/160bhp), or just the inlet cam(130bhp). The Vtec zones on the crx would be from 5500rpm to 8250rpm and when driven properly are very quick despite the lack of torque, but one stray gear change will ruin a good run as there is always a power dip just before the cam crossover. good luck with the race
