They sound quite interesting mate, Ill have to have a look at them! Can you not compensate the understeer with a front ARB with loosening the front shocks up a bit?

How much difference do you think swapping my 264 cams for the 263s? Mine was putting out 229bhp on the Stealth rollers in obd1 form with a remap and the spec in my sig. I then had it on the Surrey RR after the conversion and it was making 219bhp without a map or fuel additives, but maybe Tesco 99ron. Ive also thought about heat insulating the underside of my inlet manifold, what was the stuff you used? Ive already got an ally flyweel, and I must say it does rev a lot easier, but I wouldnt think you would see much increase in the way of power, if any? Im probably going to get a wrapped six branch on at some point with a 2.5" exhaust. I was going to get a high flow cat as well as I dont know if I can be bothered to keep removing it every year. Does a de cat make much difference? Im not too sure if Im going to get it remapped as I would really like to Rotrex it with a shrick and FMIC! Bit of a difference in price though!

VR revs fluctuate when hot with idicators on? HELP PLEASE!
VRTrickster replied to VRTrickster's topic in Engine Bay
Right I decided to check out the battery terminals last week and gave them a really intensive clean! I scrub them all with bicarbonate of soda and water, but then I got ocd and left them to soak in coca cola all night and day. All the terminals are now spotless and look new. The ground strap to the chassis was very corroded with lots of green and very dry. I gave them a good greasing and hoped for the best, and no surprises it hasn't affected the problem what so ever! Im starting to think it may be something the alarm fitter as done as it was after the install this has come around but Im not entirely sure. Does anyone else have any advice, it would be greatly appreciated? Cheers -

VR revs fluctuate when hot with idicators on? HELP PLEASE!

Still trying to sort this problem out myself before handing it over to a auto electrician and parting with some cash that I havnt really got! Can anyone shed any light on this? I swapped the fuse box over, as I had a spare and still the problem persists! I checked all the indicator connections and they seem fine. It also seems to affect it when the car is in reverse, especially with the indicators on! The engine revs bounce up and down, I really need to sort this! Can anyone help please? -
Cheers, I find the search feature not as good as it used to be, but that could just be me :? Im going to be going fixed very soon so that will come in very handy :D

VR revs fluctuate when hot with idicators on? HELP PLEASE!
VRTrickster replied to VRTrickster's topic in Engine Bay
Well I checked the indicator relay today and it seem a bit loose. I removed it, and one of the spades was discoloured, so I cleaned it up and took the car for a spin to get it all warmed up. Unfortunately it hasnt solved it, and it still bounces the revs slighty up and down when you switch the indicators on! This only seems to happen when the car is very hot, with the fans cutting in? Could it be the relay? Has anyone got any other ideas :? -
Im sure Ive seen someone on the forum who had produced some one piece 6mm spacing plates for the caliper carriers for doing the 312mm brake conversion? If anyone knows if he was selling them or not? I have tried searching :?
-
No that seems resonable, I think Bigpants baby has lowered the price of his kits since I brought mine.
-
If you read the thread from the start it will state everything you need. :)

Is anyone on forum selling some 6mm spacer plates for the 312 conversion?

Cheers, yeah no worries! Im also thinking of going down the rotrex route, hope all goes well mate!

VR revs fluctuate when hot with idicators on? HELP PLEASE!

Could it possibly be the switch itself? -
Right, for some reason this only happens when the car is fairly hot. I put on the indicators to turn obviously, then the revs blip and fluctuate slightly up and down! I thought this was happening when the lights were on also, but thats not the case as it happens without them on when warm. Any ideas of what could be causing this?

Nice car, the dash lights look a lot like a dated vw with all that green.
-
Ive just been looking through his old posts, WOW, thats one hell of a car! As soon as I found a pic of the back with the boot down though, I thought......nah, dont like that! But as long as he's happy, thats all that matters, and its different!
-
Yeah, that one looks like its in the original bumper, which Im probably going to go for, as it looks better lower down I think.
-
The car is sherry pearl, and the point was to keep the panel black, doesnt mean it has to be, and fit some black smoked lights. I do actually agree with your comments, but I feel as though it would work well with the colour, and be the kind of look Im looking for. And it also comes down to the fact that if I like it, and it looks right to me, stuff everybody else! I may not like it, I dont know, but Im going to go for it and see!
-
Right my rados been recently rear ended and awaiting repair! The lady has said that she would rather pay then going through her insurance, which I dont mind, as long as it gets put right! Ive always wanted to get the number plate on the bumper and fit a flat panel in its place by Mattig. This still retains the boot lock so there is always a way to get in if something goes wrong. Mattig also do a rear fibre glass bumper with a recess, but Im un sure of the quality? Ive spoken to Geoff Skinner in Hastings, who painted the Golf + feature MK1 this month. He said he could graft a recess into the original rado bumper and also carry out the debadging. Im just asking if anyone on here has a recess in their rear bumper, and maybe get some picks up for me, or give me any comments?

I didnt pre-tension mine, is that gonna make much difference, anyone?!

Cheers, Ill give it a go tomorrow, as its a bit dark out there now, straight out after work tomorrow I think! Mirror.... sounds like it could be a bit fiddly?
