  1. Nice one, mine just packed up last week. Ill have a read through this later. :)
  2. Nice work. Just read the whole thread, now going to read the build thread. Keep up the good work, its a very cool motor! :)
  3. I haven't had chance to properly torque them up. I've just done them up with a spline bit and a 10mm spanner from under the bonnet as hard as I can. What is classed as excessive? I'll have a look later and try to get a rough measurement of it. The gearbox has probably done 156k now, so is a bit tired maybe?
  4. After my cv bolts have undone themselves on the nsf a few times after my front end overhaul. I replaced the after market ones with some genuine vw items. These lasted a lot longer before loosening also. I still have a clonk on that side when dropping of kerbs etc. Everything has been replaced, suspension and steering wise. I seem to have in and out play on that drive flange. That's got me thinking that this could be my noise, and also causing the bolts to loosen? How much play should there be in the cv drive flanges? Cheers.
  5. Just seen this post. The work you've carried out is very good! I'll hopefully be doing the same when I win the lottery, lol. Did you get to the bottom of the noise? Are you fitting any form of air cooler, or leaving it to the meth? Hope alls good?
  6. I know what you mean about the damn seagulls! Ive just got back from cleaning some off mine. I also live in a flat and only get to wash it once a week or fortnight. Ive just been soaking them with a wet paper towel leaving it on the stubborn for a few minutes, then sponging it off with just water. I wouldnt think this would scratch that much? I really need to give the paint some tlc. Clay bar, paint cleaner, polish then two coats of tech wax should do the trick.
  7. Nice work indeed. the car looks great and lots of fun. I noticed in your photos that you have your centre caps on the rear of the Team Dynamics 1.2s. I cant seem to get mine on because of the bearing cap. Just out of interest, what's the ET of your wheels, cheers.
  8. Sorry to mess you about, but can I leave I leave it for a while as money is a bit tight. Really got to stop buying stuff on impulse. I'll definitely have one off you at a later date if that's cool, cheers.
  9. Sorry forgot who's thread it was.
  10. Looks like it's coming along well mate. Keep us updated, I'm going to be following this one. :)
  11. If you dont mind me asking, how much did the gearbox rebuild and diff fit cost? Did you supply the diff? Cheers.
  12. Cheers, that would be good to get the two rebuilt instead of fitting one new one for the same price.
  13. Hi, I could really do with contacting this guy paul too, as Ive just broken one of my adjusters on a strut! Please could you let me know as soon as you can, that would be great?
  14. Today Ive just snapped the top off my damper in the vice because the bearing nut was so tight! :mad2: Thats now rendered my car unusable till I get a replacement strut. Can I get a replacement insert for my front Koni top adjustable struts? And does anyone know where I could order one from?
  15. Spotted a nice blue c at crooked billet roundabout in Staines, it had German font plates and Porsche rims. I was behind you in my girlfriend's 3 cylinder Corsa that's running on 2! Mine's off the road at the minute at my Dad's in Egham.
  16. Got the mounts last week. The mounts themselves look pretty good quality but one of the after market bearings was cracked. I was always going to get VW ones anyway so Im not to bothered. Ill be fitting these the weekend, so hopefully all goes well and Ill report back.
  17. Ive just brought a set of the ebay ones today. Ill let you know how I get on with them. Ill be fitting them in the next couple of weeks or so.
  18. Will these just be the the VR ones?
  19. Cool, Ill have to get a set. Ive seen them on ebay for £15, pretty good price!
  20. Have you got them on Lupo arms, TT arms, or other? look like Lupo to me... Mine are on tt arms mate and fit[/quote:26iwmx5l] Would these be the same arms I would have got with my TT set I got of ebay?
  21. The Golf R is 4WD, just to keep it the flagship car I think. I personally think the new Scirocco is too big and bulbous. The bonnet isnt long enough and its also a bit tall. Thats just my opinion, its still a great looking car!
  22. Is there any chance of seeing it up against a similar rotrexed VR? This was going to be the route I was going for. Now after seeing this it may of changed my mind towards going turbo!
