  1. Let us know if you achieve a noticeable difference in road noise ? Thinking of doing this sort of thing soon , but the mats seem rather expensive if you want to do quite a lot of areas!
  2. Cant remember what they are like behind , but would it not be possible to cover the inside of the door cards? I know it may be quite fiddly but it was just a thought. Is the stuff you used for the doors like Dynamat, or thinner?
  3. Hi I was looking at this one the other day, But its from USA! http://www.bildon.com/catalog/DetailsLi ... 01HC&Nav=6
  4. I was just wondering if it was just for sound purposes ,or do you still need a plastic membraine ?
  5. I think the rad on ebay might be copper as its painted all black? Ordered one from ECP for £132 delivered. Im going to replace the thermostat with a Neuspeed lower temp item. Also replacing the fan switch with a lower temp cut in. I will be using 2 bottles of G12 + water mix. It'll be interesting to see how the temps are afterwards? http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/vw%20golfmk3/engine.html

    Radiator

This is exactly what happened to mine, little water jet spraying through the grill! Just ordered a replacement rad from ECP for £132.00 delivered. Im going to be replacing the thermostat with a lower temp Neuspeed one. Also a lower temp fan switch witha G12 refill . http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/vw%20golfmk3/engine.html Im also fitted one of those Newsouth perfomance inlet gaskets with my ported mani!
  7. I know its not very exciting but any pictures of the door skins, and how much are they? cheers!
  8. So there is only one adjustment cable at the gearbox right? The 13mm nut pivot adjusting thingermajig! Ill have a look at these alignment holes you talk of ,and another look in the manual. Cheers! :)
  9. Cheers Ill look into that ! Does anyone have the address ?
  10. The clutch isn't heavy at all, but I didn't realise that they last that well! Perhaps I should fork out for a box VT and have a full set ! Do you know if the gear lever adjustment from inside the car affects the change as described in the Bentley manual?
  11. Is this three miles from Brighton ? WHERE ! WHERE ?
  12. I have replaced the gearbox one with a aftermarket solid rubber mount ,but not uprated at all really. The clutch feels fine but not sure of the history of when it was changed etc. The cars done 124,000 mls now so I'm assuming its been changed in the past?
  13. I recommend the Vibratechnics all day long and have replaced my front and back with fast road items. The gear change has improved a lot as kev explained! The only thing is I still feel that the gear change could be a bit better. I find it a little knotchy from first to second or third to second say! I have been playing around with the cable adjustment at the gearbox end a few times now but seems to be happy were it was. This knotchyness does tend to appear more when decelerating and pulling away,so I thought this has something to do with that heavy lump moving around even with the uprated mounts. My question is could this have anything to do with the gearstick alignment inside the car as the stick isn't exactly central ? Anyone cheers?
  14. Phoned up VW today and the rads are £179.20 inc  This is a bit to much for me as Ive still got tappets and things to buy for the engine transformation coming soon! I think I might go with ECP or try that fella in Germany on Ebay.
  15. Ive just seen new ones on ebay for £104.90 delivered. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Radiator-VW-Corra ... dZViewItem Anyone know someone cheaper ?
  16. Radiators gone and I need a replacement! Ive already looked at GSF and ECP, I was just wondering knows where I might be able to buy a recon unit for less than £100! I live in Sussex ,but is doesnt matter to much as I can wait for a delivery. If anyone can help let me know cheers !
  17. How much would a modded car with that amoount of power cost to insure I mean?
  18. Yes the starter will be the same.
  19. May get a BMC after all then if you rate it that much! Will it make much difference if I have a cold air feed from the front up through the CC hole , or can I just rely on the headlight air? Was also looking at the Carbonio kit which has a very long track and tucks into the wing I think.Have you heard much of these?
  20. Where have you heard this helmholtz resonator increases torque kev? Im not saying your wrong but I have read that it can increase throttle response, but increase the intake noise? Also if it does do you know how ?
  21. Are you on about the short oval shape pipe that connects to the back of the headlight ? I don't really want to move it unless it improves air flow etc? Ive heard someone talk about de-coning an air box ,but I don't really know whats involved , anyone ? EDIT ; Just done a bit of research and what your talking about doing is de-coning! This is supposed to reduce restriction so should benefit slightly,probably/maybe unnoticed. You will as said gain some more induction noise. I think its pretty much the same last time I looked at the box,it has a snorkel shaped duct at the front.I think you just remove that part.
  22. I'm not making this for sound purposes, and I know I'm drilling the air box in some ways, but this hole is going to be sealed around my pipe. I'm not doing the Swiss cheese method! I also cant see that this duct Ive got plans for wouldn't benefit by increasing the cold air intake to directly under the panel filter inside the heat restricting air box! I can understand your point about selling issues ,but I don't think this would increase the sound that much and would still look standard. Ive had my car for a year now and although not the best example I'm going to spend money on it till its it how I want it ,and will have it for many years! lol :D
  23. Have you tried Gwent VW ? I think Im going to go for the custom oe box just to be different. I know people mod there boxs in different ways but Im thinking of running a 2 to 3" round duct up from under the bumper. This will then come up through the carbon canister hole and into the box. Ill be fabricating it from plumbing waste pipes ,angles and bends etc. Itll be interesting to hear how it sounds!
