  1. It's £265 for a sports cat....
  2. Since when did shrick stop making their manifolds? You'd have to set about stripping a manifold and taking drawings from that, I think.
  3. I thought any O/T comments would have been from envious people wanting photoshop lessons :(
  4. Would anyone know how long the standard exhaust manifold and downpipe are for a 1.8 16v? I have a 4 branch to fit, and am going to connect it up to the rest of my current system, but I need to work out roughly how long I need to make the adaptor or how much I need to hack off the current centre box to get it to fit nicely. I'm after the measurement from the back of the head to the joint with the centre box in just the horizontal plane, if you know what I mean. If you don't, check out the sexy picture... Also I assume that the standard pipe diameter is 2 1/4 inch?
  5. That part no. according to your table is the corrado selector lever guide, didn't you say you had fitted the passat unit (375 711 055 D) ? I added you on messenger so that I could bother you with other random questions about this, hope that's not a problem? Tom
  6. Like the juxtaposition of the moonroof on the white car. Need to locate myself another moonroof soon!
  7. Nice work matt. How're things going? Take a look at the forced induction 20v thread for some interesting info, and I've heard a lot of good things about JKM in Portsmouth on the remap side of things.
  8. I've also got an alpine 98something in the VR and am really impressed with it, I've got the ipod apapter hooked up to it. I also have an old sony Minidisk head unit in the valver with pioneer 6x9s and kenwood 2 way speakers in the doors which sounds ok.
  9. Why were you told it needed replacing?
  10. For some reason, I can imagine a group of old men sat in your car soaked in gin, smoking pipes and talking about the war. Good individual interior though :thumbleft:
  11. Don't forget you'll be getting through a few more cfm with teh 16v head... Nice pics btw.
  12. As the D. says I'd try a new slave cylinder. Have you got any brake fluid at the bottom of the bell housing? Mine used to leak badly and left a trail of brake fluid around the place. You can recon them I believe, although I came across a nearly new one that I fitted. Not sure If I have a spare knocking around here though...
  13. He clearly doesn't remember all of E38 last year then ;) Rofl.
  14. My valver has random travel, some times the biting point is 1/4 inch down, or others it's 1 inch down. Never been able to sort it out. Think its something to do with the rear bearings and how tight you have them. Wonder if pumping particularly hard/fast would help?
  15. You mean....... it was outside????/
  16. :( That's a bugger. I might be around tomorrow if you want a hand?
  17. Didn't H8RRA used to make them or something? Look at Deisel Geeks, I'm pretty sure ther's a guide there. Gruvenparts do a kit that reduces side to side motion by 35% I believe. it replaces the plastic arm on the gearbox shift tower.
  18. You did both nipples on the ABS pump?
  19. Oh yeah, I remember that! Thought it was a brakeline at first? That would make me very sad if one burst on me, going at pace.
  20. Out of interest and slightly related, is there a difference between the shifter in early and late cars? My valver has a far better shift than the VR, and I was thinking about using the shift mech (Well, lever and maybe cables) from my breaker in the VR when I rebuild it?
  21. Dinkles went well TBH, think it was the fact that we never emptied the resevoir that helped us. You can put a wieght on the brake pedal so that it's held slightly down and that stops the fluid escaping. You can cable tie the bias valve open, theres a helpful pair of rings on it. did you bleed the master cylinder and ABS pump again when you'd finished? Also ignition on or off?? I prefer to leave it off. Try pushing down hard on the pedal, then get someone to open the nipple, and repeat. CorradoVR6_Nos gave some good tips in another thread.
  22. Nice work Dave, like the slightly different caliper paint.

    a simple question

Are you sure? thought they were all 2.8's?! never seen a 2.9 passat ever... :? I meant Vento. I remembered just after I'd left the computer. I'm sure they're 2.9.
