  1. Has anyone used http://www.emissioncontrols.co.uk ??
  2. Moved to suppliers. GSF or ECP supplied my 90A Bosch, £152 inc VAT I think.
  3. Fitted my new slimline fans with one of Dave's brackets and wired them up tonight. Not happy with the wiring, but it'll do for the MOT. Tyres are fitted along with the front wheels, they look awesome. Massively happy with them. Hopefully I'll sort some pictures out on Saturday. Need to fit another set of injectors, slam panel, lights etc, front bumper, and tidy a few issues up, such as brake line grommets, and then she'll be ready, I hope. :) Starting to rush a few little jobs at the moment. Off on holiday tomorrow morning, back for Saturday, off to a (St)Hag do on Sunday/Monday, then MOT is first thing Tuesday.
  4. Gallows, Misery. Misery farking loves me, and I love her too.
  5. As a word of warning. If you go down this route, you will spend more money than you predict and take far longer than you intend to. You'll want to give up at some point, but if you hold your reserve you should end up happy.... Vege engine is probably the easiest method.
  6. Chains really aren't that bad to do yourself. but at that age it would be worth inspecting the bores, and giving the engine a good once over to make sure you don't waste your time. TBH, the chains really shouldn't take much longer to do than the clutch. It's only a case of whipping the flywheel and cases off to get to them.

Continual flashing indicates low level as well as overheating. I assume you plugged the sensor back in?
  8. I was wondering if anyone would notice that.
  9. :) Awesome. Thanks for them. I really like it with no lights.... It might be, not going to worry about it till the car is completely in one peice. Cheers dude. I'm over the moon with them. Today, Tekara popped over and gave me a hand with the brakes, got the last of the air out, and seem to have a good pedal now. While I was at it, I refitted the arch liners with new screws and washers after spraying a layer of waxoyl on all edges that come into contact with the arches, just to help prevent any corrosion happening. Adjusted the front camber. I also put 2 more layers of paint on the bonnet, wings and side of the car. The latest batch of paint seems to be a far better colour match. Got the moonroof to work, and sorted the motor position out. Although it is probably a little bit out. Painted the centre caps, although I did destroy three. Speedline centre caps don't like petrol as a cleaning solvent.... :mad2: Refitted the glove box, after grinding the annoying bar off the bottom of it also fitted the under dash tray on the passenger side. Thought about breasts. Wacked the stereo in properly, listened to it a bit. Painted the aerial base. Scampered it up and down a bit more. Getting happier with it, although the running issues are still present. Will book the tyre fitter to put the new tyres on the rims this week.
  10. Avoid the Ford Ranger, and Mazda alternative. Good pickups, but the heads crack.
  11. I was going to buy one, but I forgot to bid on it... I reckon it should be easy enough to do. Move the battery over to the other side, use a cone filter or a BMC and job should be a goodun.
  12. Cheers. I fitted the wind deflectors after you left, then took her for another blast. Wind deflectors = 8)
  13. When you get the subframe back, borrow a proper air line fed waxoyl gun, put the waxoyl into really hot water until it's really hot itself, and nice and runny, shake it up, and then blast it in through any holes in the subframe and rad support panel, until it the entire inside is covered, some will run out, but mop it up when it dries a bit. IT will be worth it. Too many rad support panels and subframes rust from the inside out becuase the repainting/powdercoating doesn't cover the insides properly....
  14. Cheers Jim. Really pleased with them :) Anyway.... Bit of an update... Actually drove it today :) Been waiting for a few bits to turn up which haven't yet, so decided to clean the old injectors up, and wedge the old fan back on and start the car. Needed to actually drive it to see what else needed doing for the MOT. Found a few small issues, firstly the car struggled to idle, and was running on 5 cylinders for a little while, the tracking is miles and miles out, but that was to be expected, the main beam warning lamp still illuminates, the brakes need bleeding some more, the cat scrapes the ground leaving my parents farm at certain angles. Also drove it up the road with very few wheel nuts in.... Indicators flashing due to the alarm going nuts, and no slam panel/front lights. Was nice to have it out, no matter what. The VAG Com codes I'm getting are: 00533 Idle Speed Regulation 10-00 00533 Idle Speed Regulation 09-00 00513 Engine speed sensor, idle speed too low, too high, or Signal malfunction. 03-00 The car will cut out for no reason at idle, the idle speed varies and it stalls when dipping the clutch. Need to have a snuffle round and see if I can find anything obviously wrong. Edit, possible reasons for 00533
  15. I should have given you a few new clips for the other side. Was good to see you today. Am really impressed with your attention to detail with that car. Reckon we can sort the back end out easily enough. Pete's advice was bloody handy.... :)

    Aerial in ETKA.

Spoke to the dealer. The 6N part he found was amplified, but a "mere" £75 with VAT. I think I'll search for the non amplified version on ETKA tonight when I have a bit of time... I bought a mk3 version from GSF, but it has the wrong connections... :(

    Aerial in ETKA.

Cool. Got to pop into the dealer in the morning to pick some bolts up, so I'll badger them then.

    Aerial in ETKA.

It says something like "dropped 13/08/97, no replacement". If there is a replacement or something very similar, I'd be most excited to hear about it...
  19. We can fire some waxoyl in behind the rear cards on Saturday if you want?
  20. I hope they do. :) I'd love to pop over, hopefully will be able to in a couple of weeks once the VR is on the road. :) Cheers. It's actually Halfords own brand Matt Black, the big 500ml cans are about £7 each. Seems pretty good stuff, done a few brackets and mounts etc with it.

    Aerial in ETKA.

The number on my actual aerial is 1H0 035 503 C It's not amplified, which is where the difference lies I believe. Anyway, I can't ATP it as it was discontinued in 97. :( Might just paint it black and see how it lasts. I'll have a look at the special catalogue. Cheers!

    Aerial in ETKA.

Before I start to sulk, can anyone point me at where the aerial is shown in ETKA, for some reason I can't search on the part number... Cheers!
