  1. Moved to members gallery as it seems more appropriate now.
  2. There's a lot of advice around, and even servicing guides in the Wiki. Just have a bit of a search.
  3. Whoot. Can I help the vetting? I'll bring my own gloves and everything! I need the rubber bits, and they have been delivered now apparently. Cheers though! Just waiting on flywheel bolts and sump gasket to arrive tomorrow. And then I have to pay for it. :( Am using a TPS account, so I dread to think what it would all cost if I had gone to the dealer...
  4. Yup. Just need to get in and drive it and it will all be worthwhile... Still need another £300 of bits. :(
  5. Losing interest in the wheels. Also having massive financial issues. Not helped by ordering the following... Edit. and a set of tappets... Should come to £600....
  6. :) I am a massive fan of this car. Love the colour.
  7. That is quite cool. Seen a radiator from a Rover 25 like that too. Imagine if you had your head under the bonnet and it popped, like what happened with PeteGriff...
  8. But it won't work properly until the throttle position sensor fault is fixed... The ecu needs to know where the throttle position is to get the fueling right...
  9. I had a very similar problem with my vr6 and it was the speed sensor, as soon as that was replaced it ran fine :? If the engine is not running then the ecu returns the error that the speed sensor is not working (No signal), if the engine is running then it may return a different fault, such as intermittent short etc. It won't return a No signal fault if the engine is running, as it can't run without a signal. If you see what I mean.
  10. The RV6's head flows the other way to the VR, hence the distributor take off on the back of the block under our exhaust manifold...
  11. Yes, there's an electrical connector on the throttle body, that's the TPS.
  12. Well if you want to be a bit pikey, you could clean the disk up and spray it with VHT paint, trying not to paint too much of the swept area, although the pads will clean them back up.
  13. It covers the bells and all the surfaces that are not swept. Makes them look tidier. The VAG disks are balanced too...
  14. Have you had the tracking checked recently?
  15. Lol. I just ordered a set through a TPS account I have access to. Didn't ask about price, although the guy did suggest I should go non-gen. Think it's going to be >£500 total though. :(

    parts similarity?

Probably all very similar for a late car. Do you want to come and snuffle around a manual VR with no engine and box in place so that you get an idea what is required etc? Could probably sort you out with a lot of parts from my breakers too including pedal boxes, shift towers, brackets and piping....
  17. You can ignore the engine speed sensor fault, as the crank sensor doesn't pick up anything with the engine off. Your throttle position switch may be responsible for a few of the other faults. I'd start off replacing that and seeing what codes come back after a drive.
  18. Speak to Dave... He's got one on his car and has noticed a drop in inlet manifold temperatures. I spoke to him breifly about it at BVF, but he'll be able to fill you in properly.
  19. Might be worth trying another headlight switch too. They do fail with time.
  20. Without being rude... You are flicking the headlight switch on to the right position? I.E the second position. If you have an uprated loom, then it might be putting dipped beam on instead of sidelights and confusing the issue.
