I've had the barrel fail and have to change it. Couldn't move the steering wheel at all or turn the key when mine went.

Have you got a set of vernier calipers? If you think they have worn into an eliptical shape that should be easy to measure. Is there a difference between where the inner and outer races sit? Edit, got beaten to it....

Cool. Do need to catch up soon! Already got a hectic winter lined up, and not nearly enough weekends free.

DG Autotech supply the elongated centre tube if you want one. I don't think you can change the filter housing.

From ETKA. White and Black are definitely the wrong combo, I'm sure I got a blue one for the VR recently enough.

Looks good matey. Didn't know you were doing this at home. Would have been tempted to come up and fondle your balls while you worked.

A ferret and a jar of mayonaisse.

NSFW!!!!11one [youtube:2ksriwf1]KbW9JqM7vho[/youtube:2ksriwf1] I've grown a strange soft spot for Die Antwoord, just because they are clearly mentals. Otherwise the DJ Fresh Album and the Mixtape version of the Magnetic Man album is good, loving Fire with Miss Dynamite at the moment especially.

All the 4 cylinders have oil jets for cooling the pistons.

DanVW has a ralleye engine in his car. I think the main one difference you'll notice is the head bolts, which are only available from VW and very expensive.

Worth a try, i suppose. Just use your scrotum, it's nice and soft and leaves no streaks.

You'll cook the ABS with track use, it's not designed for lots of repeated heavy braking.

Thats a good idea, be a bit fiddly to splice an earth in though without cutting wires. It's not the end of the world cutting two wires though, and if it sorts the issue out, it would be worth it.

I would just leave it be. I guess it works to show you when it's getting empty?

I'd run a new fused permanant live and earth straight to the battery from the stereo. Leave the switched live as it is. That way you can make sure you've a nice clean supply to the head unit.

Glad it came off ok. :)

Stopped by police for being too low....

I think after seeing people mash themselves across roads, and having to tell parents, and partners of these people the bad news, then coppers have got a pretty valid reason to be arsey when you're driving like a scrotum. -
These are not the droids you are looking for.

Yup, even poked inside an open barn does a good job of keeping the frost off. I'd suggest slowly stretching your genitals until you can lay them across the windscreen and melt the ice. Or start the car and leave it running for a few minutes while you use lukewarm (Body temp at most) water to melt the ice.

Next time I'm just going to coil one out into my hand and throw it at them. -

I quite agree, so many people go round with ridiculous attitudes now. I've had torrents of abuse from motorists when closing roads because of accidents and fallen trees, and been on the site of a fatal crash when a person in a people carrier has moved the road closed signs and bollards out of the way, and then driven through all the debris lying in the road. W@nkers. -
Spoiler motor cleaning and repair

I've just tried to remove mine, and both nuts on one side have spun in the casing. Any hints on how best to remove it now?I've tried pulling the plastic over the nuts, but that doesn't work. Wondering if I'm best off drilling the screws out and dealing with the nuts later? -
Whereabouts were you doing Materials Science?

I must admit, my VR has fewer lugs on the ring than it was made with. :D They can be bloody tight, and they're a right turd to refit.
