Its pretty damn harsh at the moment on the KW1's, am hoping it can't be much worst. Should be riding higher and softer shocks. Will be going to stealth after its fitted and asking Vince to setup geometry and also to check out most other parts for play etc. Am still convinced its something else causing my steering/handling woes not just suspension so being pessimistic about it all to avoid any disappointment.

A new Aux pump was the biggest waste of money i've done, i swear its stopped working now and i don't notice any difference, just its quiet when i turn ignition on instead of that silly pump whirring away. Am not in a rush to get another tbh.

I remember having some trouble with this before when i had weitec springs, they only fitted the early plate and i ended up changing them for Pi springs as they work with late plate. I will just have to see what happens, am getting used to taking suspension on and off

Suspension Parts Bundle [OPEN TO OFFERS!]
Jim Bowen replied to UseOnceDestroy's topic in Parts for Sale
Really interested in some of those bits. Mainly rear beam and bits. -
Have ordered some early top plates, am told they can work with late mounts so trying that.
-
nearly got everything i need. Got rid of most of the standard bits I now need when I fitted the coilovers. Things like springcaps and bumpstops etc. Should really update/sort out my members gallery thread soon.

Think I spotted that car as well. Did think it was you? Or was it you? Near the top of common.

They look like the shiny ones someone was selling. Mine had washers as well. Was a selection available. Some for wings and also the slam panel. -
Got some koni sports and h&r springs today. Seemed to be a few different prices about and different parts numbers for the springs. Apparently not all the koni sport rear shocks are adjustable on car. Can get both types. The type you have to take off and twist shock body or the top adjustable ones. Ended up paying the higher price, hoping it means i get the correct stuff 1st time.

Also rear upper spring plates. Not sure what the koni shocks and hr springs kit comes with so probably need more bits.

Self adhesive thick foam draught excluder
Jim Bowen replied to It's not a Scirocco's topic in Interior
I stuck some on my front wing the other week to stop the water that dribbles onto battery. Looks a odd but it'll do for now. -
Am not after the springs any more, just thought i'd let people know etc
-
Have now got springs and shocks and bought the wrong front spring plates. So after. -Early style front spring top plates.

Is a chap on ebay that advertises rebuilt VR6 gearboxes. Was £495 last time i noticed it. I was thinking of going down that route when my engine is rebuilt.
-
How old and what condition are the springs? Are they for a late VR6? Any pics?
-
I had that noise on mine, but changed the whole lot of brakes at once so couldn't really pin point what fixed it, but i've never had the noise since. Did 288mm fronts and the mk4 rears.

Cheers for the pics, am thinking of changing my suspension (again) Looks a little bit higher at the front compared to the rear, is that my eyes or do you notice that in real life?

Does look pretty minging!

Brand new unpainted number plate light cover with screws
Jim Bowen replied to OllieVR6's topic in Parts for Sale
I got the cover, the stainless screws and the little washers from Pat McCrotch, he didn't have many at the time, he did also sell a few of the lights. -
I sold all my standard bits when fitting coilovers, want to go back to a spring and shock combo but don't have any of the bits i need. From my head i am going to need: -Front spring plates -Rear spring plates? -Bump stops and dust covers, (front and back i think) Although could buy these new as i imagine they are cheap. -Have got some little metal cylinder/sleeves already, which am sure are for the rear suspension. Can't think of anything else at the moment
-
I mounted mine using the rear engine mount, Took the bracket off and used 3 of the holes in the back of block. Although it took a bit of working out getting the right bolts and using spacers etc
-
Haha this is making me giggle

Have you found any damage on the loom from headlights to fuse board? When mine burnt out it was only the wire from headlight switch to fuse board that got damaged.
