Both you and guide say the same and thats how it was, the rubber interferes with that bolt either way I think Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk

Just got home and got this unwrapped and a bit confused about it. Its a Sealey made one. Basically the whole red beam rotates around the bolts in the black bits, can't see the point of it and can't tighten it up as its just a bolt into threaded metal hole. is this normal before i phone up Sealey tomorrow? ---------- Post added at 06:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:10 PM ---------- can delete this thread, think its me being stupid....lol

this is a front shock btw ---------- Post added at 06:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:37 PM ---------- like a little washer that goes in from the top? makes sense but i never remember seeing one

Noticed this before when i put the coilovers on, but was at the end of the job so just left it, now i've taken them off again i've tried to get pictures to explain the issue. I have this nut on top of the bearing ^^^^ When i fitted that to the car i put the rubber bit on 1st pushed the strut up so bearing sat in the the rubber, then put that nut on top. It didn't seem right at the time as it kinda went through the mount from above as i tightened it. ^^^Can just see where the nut has dropped through the rubber and damaged the rubber bit a little, i presume the domed top of bearing should fit snuggly in the opposing dome of the rubber mount. ^^^then that on top. Wondered if i should just swap the nuts over? Hope this makes sense

its not come from the fuel filler area in any way has it? you say you noticed it after filling up, and its that side the filler is.

-
Blimey i was a corrado-noob back then  must of been when i 1st got the car

Been looking up prices of bits i need, got a list thats nearly an A4 page now  Main things i've just looked at were ABS sensors and notice they also do a steering rack for £336, also something about £126 back if you send in old rack. Do they recon VW steering racks? The only things i haven't replaced in my steering stuff is the rack and the column and still have some weird goings on. Not sure whether to replace rack and column for VW parts of same spec, or do this fixed rack conversion (is that a polo column and rack?) But led to believe the cowling/surround plastics don't fit I guess a new VR6 rack and column is lots of money from VW, not been there yet and my list keeps growing ---------- Post added at 05:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:23 PM ---------- Hydraulic, Teeth Quant. 22, Without axle joint, Transm. Type ZF includes 126.00 surcharge pending return of old item: 336,00 GBP

Jim Bowen replied to rubberdubber's topic in Engine Bay
i looked at my temp sensor things, the other day, and is it normal for the yellow one to sit further out than the other two. mine doesn't look pushed in as far as the others -

Good news, i've never been too sure and thought i might of wrecked the pump by now and it wasn't cheap from VW. cheers -

is the aux pump meant to start as soon as ignition is on? replaced mine and it seems to be on all the time, i thought i had a problem with it. -

must of been whats happened, i should get a new windscreen really as it has an unrepairable chip right in the MOT fail space, but i've managed to get it passed for the last 5yrs. I was doing a search and thought i heard someone say the new windscreen comes with the trim? is that these bits of trim or something else...
-
The three pieces of plastic that are on the bottom of external face of windscreen. Got one off, but snapped what ever was holding it on, some white clips which seem to be glued to the back of trim. Glue has come off the white clips and the bits of clip remain stuck to the car. any tips, do i just break things and replace them?

I wonder if some of the people with the extremely mint condition low mileage examples actually enjoy them properly or just like getting there bum licked. Just enjoy your car, You could be getting the same experience from a £2k corrado as a £6k. I love to see a stunning low miles hardly used corrado but wouldn't want to own one and i think thats the same for most people. Just ask yourself what do YOU want from a car.

Renshaw project (probably going to sell / swap)
Jim Bowen replied to 24V Renshaw's topic in Members Gallery
never liked buying cars that aren't complete tbh, in fact i haven't bought a car that has had anything missing. like my corrado, it has all the clip, was 100% original and still isn't missing anything.......Its one of my key things -
Is the blower the round one on left? The box on right says diavia on it so taking that out. Also where is the heater matrix meant to be? learning as I go really. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk

Think its about 20 quid, halfords sell it, k&n recharge kit. I oil it really lightly and let it soak up and add little bit at a time. Quite easy to use too much Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk

do i need to take both these big bits out? pulled the hoses through and got them out now, its just the electrics to do. can't get to them very easily as they are behind that lot

sorted! Cheers people.

i want one. nice work..
-
well, i put wheels back on, dropped car and slackened the hub nut. now with car back on stands, wishbone removed etc Should i just need to undo the hub nut and the driveshaft/CV joint then just pulls out of hub?

i agree, found some pretty shocking bits. There is some wiring/pipe that that have just poked through a grill in the scuttle area, the grill looks like they have just stabbed through it with a screwdriver
