  1. Hi mate, thanks for offer but after checking i only really need the one side.
  2. Great, let me know how much you want for them? Thanks for looking
  3. Think I've confused things. Those are the numbers for the doorcard trim. Also checked my bits and i need passenger side, both door latch cover and the door card trim.
  4. I find it easier not to mask too much paint and just wet sand off the over spray at the end and polish everything. I think photos hide quite a bit of the mismatch/imperfections in it. But looks acceptable in real life.
  5. I found 535837475 and 535837475 01C - Satin Black Both left side
  6. That's what confused me, is one part number with no colour next to it, then the other one says "satin black" Didn't know if there may be two types of black?
  7. i only actually need one side of the latch covers, will have to check which side. Could you get a pic of any parts? Looking on vagcat it lists two colours of the trim, i guess i want the black but not sure what the other colour is?
  8. Just rattle cans, i don't want to fork out for a respray yet. TBh when it is respray time i think i'll buy all the gear and do it myself. I just don't believe other people you pay are as enthusiastic/anal about it as i would be.
  9. I am after the plastic covers for the door latches and also the trim on inside of door, going along the top of door card (door card clips into it) Both in black. Anyone got anything?
  10. Cheers Jim, I think its all ok, starts up fine and idles quite smooth, i've disconnected one of the Spal fans for now. Not really done much else, doing little things like sticking trim back on, indicators etc. Also painted one of the last bits of bodywork that was annoying me. Had a few rust spots/bubbles in the paint. Needs a polish to get rid of a bit of orange peel. Need a chip fixed in the new windscreen (not sure how i got some many chips in it already, hardly driven it).. Will probably get mot done in a couple of weeks time.

    Coolant

Blimey. I just plugged the sensor and cut the wiring off  Might have to check this. My car has been like it for years and not had a heating problem

My car came with aircon. I removed it all and also removed the black sensor. I was under the impression you only need it if you have aircon.

    Do you have aircon?

I looked into waterless coolant a lot as i was fitting new engine and cooling system, but decided against it. Quite glad i did now as engine came back out and i lost most of the coolant, seems a pain in the arse to try and reuse it. Never been able to undo the drain valve on the crack pipe, despite fitting a gruvenparts one. A couple of things i learnt about the waterless coolant. (my reasons for not buying it) Because the waterless coolant doesn't create any pressure, there is no warning your engine is overheating unless you always check the dash gauge, with normal coolant the pressure would build up and probably pop a hose off etc. Also i read its not as good as transferring heat as water. Its expensive. You would need to carry a bottle of it with you, as you can't top up with water. You end up thinking most manufacturers of cars don't specify it and millions of car around the world are cooled just fine with water/coolant.
  15. A tatty and cracked hand brake cover, only £50 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CORRADO-BLACK-HAND-BRAKE-COVER-TRIM-BLACK-PLASTIC-535711463-VR6-16V-G60-8V-/272597647034?hash=item3f7815feba:g:oj8AAOSwuxFYz72g
  16. Any pics and do you know what sort of mileage they have covered?
  17. Fired it up today, had a few issues but got them sorted. Somehow had the + and - connections to starter motor touching each other, so went connected the battery got a lot of spark and i presume the starter motor going mental, sounded like the aux pump whirring. Was rather loud at first and ran really lumpy, but sorted itself out, i turned it off and let it cool and started it again and it was much better, quiet and smooth idle, but when the cooling fans kicked it it started to rev itself up, and then let out a big pop/backfire that seemed to come out the air filter (bmc) and then died. Restarted ok, but turned it off and left it for during the evenings next week. Am sure it just needs a long drive. Thinking about disconnecting one of the spal fans, seems to put a big load on battery when both fans kick in
  18. Another day at it. Started about 11.30am, the little bits seem to take the longest, i did machine polish the bumper before fitting and have been spraying underbody wax on everything as i fit it together. Got to fit an oil filter and then should be ready to start.
  19. Been at it all day, got engine in. It's a bit of a fiddle on my own but manage it with a bit of patience. Just stopped for the evening, should be running by Monday
  20. That's what I've done now. All torqued up ok without snapping
  21. It does say they are stretch bolts, but all three sets I've got here all still look identical and same length. That's my dilemma, do i wait until next weekend and fit new or just get it all done this long weekend.
  22. Was hoping to fit engine this weekend and had ordered new flywheel bolts as they are meant to be renewed. But they never arrived so can't get on for the whole weekend. Anyone had a bad experience in the past when reusing them. I know I've done it before and not had any problems.
  23. The glass can be removed, but not easily, i either sacrifice the lense or the housing depending which bit i need
  24. Have heard the Techtonics tuning cams are good, but have to import them. I usually wait until the right time of year and they have a 20% for black friday
  25. I can't remember if i solved this problem or not, think the engine self destructed before i fixed it. Maybe my valve is just old, am sure it had one when i redid the pipes etc
