sounds like the cable isn't connected, the plastic guides at the ends of the metal part the cable runs in, they snap off. happened to mine, i just bought the assembly from ebay and it has been fine for over a year now. i did take some photos and put them up somewhere of fitting etc

it was done not long ago when all the calipers were changed and a few other brake line, i think the four going into the brake unit are the only original ones -

is blanking off the brakes lines recommended once i disconnect them? i've got nothing to put in the open hoses etc? so they may have to sit there open until i get the beam off, refurbed and back on -

this thread is great for me, i'm just coming back to it as i'm going to do my rear beam like yours. think i may as well get the new brake bias too. Do you just bolt it on and connect the lines back to it? or does it need setting up etc? -
i'm going to borrow another jack for that  , i have a little wooden trolley too so planning to lower it onto that and wheel it out. do i need to take all the rear brakes off or just leave them in place? calipers and discs etc?
-
done that, that was easy once i got the hammer out :D when i take the axle off do i just undo the single bolt that goes through the bush or do i need to undo the 3 smaller ones that hold the bracket onto car as well?
-
do i lift them from the front or back?

i've found most products to be rubbish on plastics, they only last a day or two some people use the heatgun trick, it'll be on youtube somewhere

i've used the halfords axle stands and trolley jack for years now and never had a problem. the problem i find is the trolley jack doesn't go very high. does anyone know where to buy the rubber jacking blocks to help protect underside of car?
-
aren't they on the gearbox under the bonnet? i know i've done it before but not on a corrado fuses?

Am trying to get rear axle off, so i can fit the rear axle bushes and then my coilovers. couple of problems i've hit already. Where the 4 brakes pipes go into a box, they are all seized and just rounded one of the union things, so probably have to cut the 4 pipes and make new ones :( not so bad as all the rest are new from fitting the calipers all round, so just these 4 originals left. I've disconnected battery and pumped the brake pedal, like it says in book, so now do i just cut the lines? is there anything else i need to disconnect etc? Also i'm trying to find the ABS connections under the rear seats, but how do you get under the base of the seats? they don't seem to fold up or anything? do i need to unbolt the backs of the seats first? think ill give up for today, its too cold  Is it wrong to put car on 4 axle stands and take all the wheels off? is that safe? I always have nightmares lifting car up safely

my manual talks about cruise control in the corrado, meant to be on the LHS stalk by steering wheel, not sure which had it fitted though?
-
i always seem to average about 320 miles to a tank, can probably do more but thats when it gets near the red then i fill up
-
refurbed the original wheels too, might of mentioned that before, but did them with rattle cans :D

A few more pics, recent updates etc had the 288's and mk4 rears all fitted, car feels much better now under braking and the handbrake works great too. Audi TT wiper upgrade, probably the best mod i reckon i've done  no squeaking, perfect wipe, no missed bits on screen smoked headlamp protectors and after i found the rear axle bushes to be knackered, i just received the KW's to fit and some powerflex bushes, looking forward to getting this fitted asap, have moaned about the ride for over a year now. also fitted some new plugs, leads and a coilpack which means i can drive in the rain now :D.......quite pleased recentely as things are improving

TOP choice horney, they look awesome

i'd buy a rusty old VW for £200 then spend £14,800 on some nice wheels and suspension, i'd be the scene-daddy  seriously i'd probably get an r34 gtr vspec skyline as i've always wanted one and then drive it

the way i always reset mine, and its the scorpion as picturered is.. disconnect battery, put key in ignition and turn on, connect battery, turn key to off position but don't remove, hold the left button for about 10secs until light goes out, remove key, and its done

early vs late rear spring uncompressed lengths
Jim Bowen replied to boost monkey's topic in Drivetrain
Why not order some PI springs for a very late VR with the late top mount? That might make a bit of a difference. thats the setup i have now, late Pi springs with the 92cm top coil and late top mounts, i had weitecs before that with late top mounts, and the same before that but with early top mounts :( -

i was hoping so, that the coilovers won't be too low, as it stands the front wishbones are higher at the wheel than where they join car, only by about 10mm think i'll be happy with them level i binned all my original stuff :( -
Used my japan-english photo translator 8)

early vs late rear spring uncompressed lengths
Jim Bowen replied to boost monkey's topic in Drivetrain
so if i wanted to lower my late VR at the front by about 30mm what could i do? am pretty set on buying some coilovers now, but would i be better ordering ones for a late passat? Is there a chance the KW1's are designed to a golf/early corrado strut length? I want to be sure that by replacing the current -40mm springs with the KW1's (which say a minimum of -40mm) i won't be stuck in the same situation I.e: front too low -
the handbrake has been on both times i've tried it. thinking back the 1st time i noticed it was after i had jacked the front up (back came with it) to check front brakes

one thing i've done on the scorpion fobs before is to knock the slider switch on the side so its not up or down, its sat in the middle instead. the fob lights up still but doesn't do anything to the car
