  1. Going to try order these on Tuesday. Will see what happens.
  2. Also quite simple to fit the plastic anti slip rings that hook onto the standard bit in carpet. Again they are cheap from ebay.
  3. I mention these to quite a few people I was impressed with them. They were something like £10.99 Inc delivery a couple of years back. Bargain.
  4. I did my last one without the guide thing. I lubed the crank bit a little.
  5. Nice one, would like the proper duct things if they are some, if not i've have to get inventive with some clips
  6. Also, got these from the dealers last week for 49p each http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Corrado-Genuine-VW-Handbrake-Cable-Brake-Caliper-Spring-Retaining-Clip-/331297334952?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4d22dc26a8
  7. Came across some of his clips the other day, good price but postage took the ****. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Corrado-Genuine-VW-Rear-Axle-Brake-Pipe-Line-Holder-Bracket-Clip-/331395703587?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4d28b92323 £6 to post one of them
  8. Found my old beam last night, luckily my mate hadn't binned it yet. The dimensions of the beam are the same so that's good news. But can see the studs for the clips are different. Just wondering now if the earlier axles had different black plastic bits (that hold the ABS sensor wire) as they don't fit this axle.
  9. The plastic guide is for fitting cover back on once seal is fitted to cover
  10. Fit it with cover off. It's not just slide in. I use a bit of wood and a hammer to tap it in. Just take your time and work around the edge.
  11. I have mine off the car if pics would help you.
  12. I've managed to buy some of the slide on type clips which should work with this axle, so as long as brakes pipes and the ABS wiring is secure i'll be happy. Am just hoping its the right width of beam for car. going to try and find my old axle to compare (i gave it to a mate to scrap, hopefully he hasn't been yet)
  13. Noticed mine was broken, no idea how long its been like that, but won't be replacing it.
  14. Was just looking for some clips for my axle and noticed this place sells a cable tie with a stud on http://www.bresco.com/acatalog/Cable_Ties.html Near the bottom of page 1^^
  15. mmmmm. better check mine, i bought a new one but not tried fitting it yet.
  16. Looking on vagca it does give quite a few different part numbers. Will try and measure old beam. Got fingers crossed I can use it as had it coated and fitted bushes to it. Are the older clips different to fit on the studs? I have some that slide on which I reckon came off this beam.
  17. Am I right in saying all vr6 cars we're the wider track? Am sure this is the wider axle as there were two widths from mounting face of the stub axle and this one was wider of the two. Might go check my rear axle is still in the skip!!!
  18. Mine is a 1995. Annoyingly I haven't got the axle I took off to compare. The clips that came off don't look like they have been on a thread. But they also don't stay on the studs. Would be weird for the axle to be longer that way. But that's how it seems. Or more likely studs in different place. I might look into p-clips and do away with the white and black bits. Just hoping the axle is correct size.
  19. First pic the white clip is on the stud. But other end is way off. Other pics show if I clip the black bit on first the white clip misses the stud.
  20. Perfect. Thanks. The problem I have is I think the studs for clips are in the wrong place. It's not my original beam. It's a replacement but the black plastic bits won't got on. Not sure if pics explain. Seems like the beam is longer.
  21. Need a new tailgate seal, i see on VW heritage its £105 = rip-off. Is there any other option or maybe a trim from another car that works? (have a funny feeling this subject came up recently) Looking on ebay, the seal for other cars are from £15-£40 which seems a more realistic price.
  22. I bought most of my bits for the fixed columm from VW, Pat McCrotch did some sort of group buy including the cowl.
  23. Yeah I noticed yours. Mine points straight out in the same plane as the tailpipe.
  24. I might of meant classic parts not vw heritage. I get mixed up.
  25. Might be worth asking Anna from vw heritage to see if they are available from Germany. I also want some. There was talk of some carbon fibre or fibreglass ones being made, but think the cost is putting people off.
