  1. Corrados are a tough one, the sort of people that love them are the long time members on the forum, most other people would see the price and then look at the alternatives and dismiss the corrado. I don't think its ever going to make someone a fortune by holding on to it for years, its a car to enjoy. Its not too complicated that you can't be a DIY mechanic. Not sure why people are wanting it to be a classic
  2. Not much faster than a mk3 VR6 either
  3. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK3-VR6-CORRADO-VR6-FRONT-WISHBONE-R32-UPGRADE-C217-/191067021733?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c7c7b61a5 Not sure what brand the wishbones and bushes are though
  4. They used to be a place that sold the wishbones already fitted with the better bushes etc, can't remember the name though, veedubmachine or something similar.
  5. Indeed, imagine buying a £7k one and spending the £18k change on it. I think he needs to keep it another 10yrs before assuming its a collectors item.
  6. Yeah it screws into the plastic housing, i ended up just pulling mine out and then sticking some glue/silicone on it before pushing the heater box back in.
  7. Looks great, a shame you have to sell.
  8. I meant so mucky
  9. I love this painting, nice job... i want to be able to do it. Are you using a spray gun and compressor?
  10. Is that how the floor mat comes from the factory?
  11. Wow, it looks so good in the pics, rado porn!
  12. Excellent I'll buy them tomorrow. Cheaper than the ones I'd found.
  13. Just realised i asked the same question in both ways. Just to be confusing. Thanks. I did hold them side by side and couldn't see any difference. I wondered if it was to do with the slider pins. As one is flatten off and one is round. The carriers i looked at came with pins.
  14. Managed to get the rear discs and bearing fitted today. Which meant i could put the wheels back on. I buggered a thread on one rear caliper carrier so couldn't fit them yet.
  15. Thanks for all the good comments. Its kept me busy for a while. Will be strange when it done and not having a mammoth about of work to think about doing. They are new brake guards. Bought them on eBay a long time ago but never got round to fitting them. Quite a lot of the parts I've bought over the years have been parts someone else bought and never fitted. Like the timing chain kit and arp bolts. Tank straps were also bought from someone on here already blasted and coated but not fitted. Had them a few years.
  16. Are the left and right side brake caliper carriers the same? Buggered a thread on mine today so looking to buy a pair but notice they mention which side it's for and also two part numbers on vagcat.
  17. Can't find my old header tank and cap. I maybe sold it a long time ago or its well hidden somewhere.
  18. I'll be keeping it. Never like selling things and its the first car I've ever worked on so would like to keep it.
  19. I'm certainly looking forward to driving it again. Managed to fit my rear beam on my own today, the lifting beam for the jack worked perfectly
  20. These are the TT ones i got. They do make a red and also a blue set. Were $90. But then have to add on shipping and import duty.
  21. Put the exhaust and tank on today. Should get the axle on tomorrow and have it rolling again so can finally fit the engine
  22. good news then. Should be quite a cheap fix.
  23. I should have my Corrado blue cap somewhere. I went to the mk4 tank and cap so it's spare now. Probably got a fairly new header tank as well. Will have a look.
