The head gasket is probably leaking I'm afraid :(
-
Mine does that too, and also when you leave the car and the fan runs, it seems to stop and then run again, and stop, then run again for ages :? no idea why but I'm sure it shouldnt do!
-
You may need to have the head skimmed if it got really hot and has warped, and you may aswell change the valve stem seals and re-grind the valves while its off.

Cheers GIXXERUK, sits even better now I've lowered the front a bit more, and yup it could do with a bath but the mud covers up the bit on the back bumper where some moron decided to smash his festa right up!
-
Cool, only noticed it was you posting cuz of your number plate, looks good! Just done all the usual engine and exterior mods, chip, pulley, cam, red tops lowered, exhaust, and the essential lupo wipers and headlight loom. Got a big intercooler to go in now too, which I'm about to go and fit, and a ported charger on the way :) Not to hijack your thread but heres a few photos!

That'd be a valve to stop the isv bleeding boost at high (1bar?) pressure!

Think u have to press the button at the other end near the back, I couldnt get mine off either, my old man had no problems tho :?

Welcome to the forum! I saw your car in watton a few weeks back, outside the chip shop I think, looks very nice, had to drive past it a few times in my aqua blue g60, was it yours then, or you only just bought it? So you from Watton, I'm from Hingham? Ryan

Did you bounce the suspention and roll the car back and forth first?
-
At the end of the day an 830kg car shaped like a bus with 113hp isnt gonna do 140mph on a flat road with no wind
-
The scrolls in a g60 are 60mm, guess what they are in a g40? 8)
-
VW quote 0-60 in 8.1s for a polo g40, and i really cant see it doing that with 3 people alone, let alone the other stuff.
-
Steep hills and strong winds in Dundalk? :)
-
No way they can prove you were doing 22mph over the limit from a skid mark, maybe if you locked up from 62-0 I guess they could get an accurate guess. They're prolly just trying to get you to admit you were speeding!
-
It looks like the supercharger is on a magnetic clutch from the block drawing and switing off after 3.5k
-
I seriously doubt a mk2 8v gti is much more efficient, if any!
-
£40 aint a bad price, is a pretty simple job, but will take you a few hours, and on mine the strut top nut was tight as a nuns .. all the way! You also need a dodgy spanner to get it off, cuz u need to get an allen key on it also, I had to weld a bar on the socket! And I really cant see them getting the camber spot on where it was after removing the strut
-
Yea me too, surely they wont be using g-laders, I have thought they'd be using a lysholm 8)
-
Yea I plugged mine with a m8 nut and bolt and oil leaks thru the threads  oh well only a little
-
That would be cuz most of us in england drive on the left 8)
-
My god how did it get that dirty?
