  1. Got the local garage to sort out my discs and pads in the end (did the calipers/hoses etc. myself). They managed to get the bolts off the carriers with some heat in the end. Now that the rears are bedding in (and the 288mm fronts) the braking really is so much better.
  2. Love the fact that you went to the lengths of heating the brillo up to 'smell match'!

    Cheap Mod

Drive down a hill. (Don't go back up it though or you will be dissapointed)
  4. Scary stuff & something to watch out for in future... I had smoke pouring out of my vent when I fitted my new headlight switch recently, turned the ignition off then back on again and it hasn't done it since... :?

    First aid kit?

Yeh get from the dealer, much more sensible... ']['H3R4POR, I can't believe you have magic beans! How much and will you swap for a cow?
  6. Not yet... but I will...! :)
  7. Looks very Old's cool mate, OBD2 rules :)
  8. Jezza might have to pop down and let you have a go at bleeding my brakes. Still not happy with the pedal feel after fitting the 288's & MK4 rears. :(
  9. I reckon it's the pearl effect that makes it look a different colour depending on where light is coming from... Thanks guys. Thinking about converting to red dials/clocks next. :?
  10. He was just doing that when I arrived! It's actually Dragon Green, and yes the bonnet does look a different colour at times and from the right angle. But when you look up close you can't tell the difference...
  11. Sure thing It's SPS Bodyworks in Wadebridge 01208816665 I'll get a picture of the box of rust that was the remains of my old sill up soon.
  12. Well i'm back from the bodyshop! Picked her up about an hour ago. Really impressed with the work the guy has done. The paint is really smooth, blends in perfectly with the rest of the car, no sign of the dent and the ridge is still nice and straight. The work he has done on the sill (which failed the MOT) is also very impressive, it looks like new under there and he's obviously spent a lot of time clearing it up. Apparently minor repairs had been done on it in the past which didn't help matters. Anyway, i'll no digress no more and let the pictures do the talking. Sorry about the bushe being in the reflection of where the dent was but the car is just too damn shiny!
  13. Yup that's cool, i'll most likely be round yours at about 3.30-4pm if that's ok. PM'd
  14. I can confirm that if the car had rolled it would be very likely to come hurtling into the restaurant/land on the beach killing a few people on the way. I can let you know when fat tongue is around if you like Dave? I reckon you should keep it for a bit, get it sorted then think about 20vt. Def don't sell it or you'll just be wasting money. Pretty sure Em drove past us the other day and it looked very nice from where I was sitting. Plus you've got the great MPG. OT: Are you up for Sunday lunch @ Salt?
  15. Cut the edges off on mine as well. Looks weird for about 2 minutes then you don't notice and it just looks a lot cleaner.
  16. Autoglym vinyl & rubber care is good for the stuff on the inside. Makes all your plastics come out nice and black and it smells really nice as well. I use Vanish Oxyaction on the headlining etc.
  17. LOL - Are you a Meguiars rep Furk'z?! To be fair every Meguiars product I have tried has been exceptional, spent £30 on some more Meggy stuff yesterday...

    Door / Panel ?

Click the Add Attachment button on the reply page. Browse your computer for the picture & make sure it's max 1024pix wide. My car is in the bodyshop at the mo getting a small door dent repaired + door & rear quater sprayed, it's costing me £250.
  19. I might have go air in mine I reckon. I'm going to leave it a few days and try again. Have read a couple of threads where folks have found their pedal magically firming up after a few days...
  20. I used some of those little bits for the fiddly stuff on my manifold. The the pinky coloured ones do wear down very quickly though but they are quite effective. For the main part of my manifold I just used an orbital sander decreasing the grit (starting with a very coarse one) as I went. Finished up with wire wool & autosol... Since doing it i've been going over it with autosol & kitchen towel once a fortnight and it seems to be staying nice and shiny.
  21. Got my re-test on Monday after numerous fails... Multiple brake pipes rusting Hoses disintergrating Nearside balljoint knackered Nearside sill rusty Rear lights flashing red 1 tyre was just a failure ...fingers crossed.
  22. Just pull, that's what I did and I managed to get it off without any breakage...
  23. Good work Neil, can't believe it took you 2 hours! Nick... I'm still waiting... :)
  24. Never seen them before and I hope I never see them again...
