  1. oh dear, sounds like this could be fun! I have a bit of movemnt in this area and im hoping that this new arm will solve the problem- if not new rack so will be rack out anyway if it looks fine!
  2. does not sound normal, no outlet there. may be worth getting a new tank they can crack.
  3. new cap good start, where does the water come from on the expansion tank?
  4. hello forum peeps 8) When i finish work (@ 1pm) i will be heading home to change my driversside track rod, track rod end. does any one have any tips for me? I did manage to get a track rod with a multi sloted end to allow better spanner action. Im guessing i can splint the track rod end with a hammer and screwdriver as i dont need it again. is there anything else i need?? cheers (i may even get time to do my rocker cover gasket if all goes well)
  5. also the 9a should be able to sort out the timing, maybe the knock sensors on the front of the block have seen better days/ have been over tightened. redex is fine to use, just chuck it in its worth a shot. i often use a little bottle every few weeks - every little helps
  6. yeah should be comming, its sounds like fun! just have to make head or tail of the location and time lol
  7. i love the lupo gti, closest to mk1 golf fun to be had in a new car i thinks!
  8. good choice of colourfor the raddo ;-) and the mk3 is not to bad either. you going to the section 5 meet in newcastle?
  9. agreed! same here. best stick the to the clock face if you can.. Im still looking for a new clear plastic front for mine edit: you should have no problems fitting the clocks but you may need a speedo sender as early cars had cables.
  10. there is a single alan bolt about halfway down facing the left side of car (when viewed from the front). both methods work..
  11. it could be sorted in a few ways. 1. new metal welded in 2. use a slide hammer to get it back to shape then fill and re paint. cost wise who knows depends on the shop, could give it a bash your self. I mangled the bit of sill on the fron drivers wing but since its open i just pulled it back to shape and covered it in waxol.
  12. thats, not good mate (but you knew that!). Guess you could fit sideskirts?
  13. thats cool, thanks! Ill have a look whats the best ET for a C and try and get my wheels to that. the front wheels just sit in a bit to far...
  14. good point, the wheels i will be using will run 195 50 15 and i think hey are 7" (min of 6.5")
  15. I have read that hubcentric are the best type of spacers, so with this in mind would it be ok to stick 15mm spacers onto my front wheels to fill the arches a bit more. my wheel et is 35 and its all std height. cheers
  16. yep, fairly sure they will indeed fit on the front not sure about the rear
  17. heres an idea. Halfords (well at least ripspeed) now do chroming of plastic and stuff. they are charging arount the £25 mark for a wing mirror so these should be cheap to do. they also do carbon effect and something else.....
  18. not really, if you can do a stereo then you will be fine. 2x earth 2x 12v (igg) and 2x12 for illumination.. 1 sender wire from oil press sender. thats it really
  19. i have a 2l16V with oil psi and volts. probs the most usefull gauges as the guys say.
  20. the golf is a diff injection system also, there is lots of power to be had from the rado 2l16v so it likly just reflects the needs of VW at the time in terms of what they wanted to put out there. edit: all mk2 16v were 1800, mk3 2l 16v used fully digi injection probs motronic or something like that not KE-jet like 2l16v raddo
  21. vag com is the best way to tell, probs just a bad sensor or dirty sender ring...(hopefully not anything worse)
  22. i have also done it, but could never get my existing fob into the small space of the flip key so gave up.. edit: to get the key blade in all you have to do is push the pin out that holds the existing blade in and copy its base shape ont the your existing key, put pin back in and there you go
  23. not really, you would probs need it to go lean for some reason. but it is poss that they fail - crack etc..
