yep agreed with g man. a compression test will tell you if something is amiss before all the cost of head off.
-
normally if the abs fails the car should be drivable with non abs brakes. I guess it at least mine was when there was a sensor problem. i guess the abs could fail in such a way as to stop the brakes working but it seems unlikly
-
that has to be guess of the day  well done! glad you sorted it mate, ill remember this tip
-
yeah i liked it to, probs doesnt do much for views/impressions of the us marines but hey fun to watch.
-
yep i saw it too! I asked my friend about this, and although dramatised ( a fair bit) its pretty close to marine life. Mybest friend being a US marine and he said it wasnt far off, scary eh!

I am the only one who thinks the Corrado looks stupid.......

good on the move, a bit silly at standstill i thinks -
thats not what you are looking for. it will most likely be a blue wire from the head uni iso cable - either 'rem' 'remote' or 'aerial'. run that the the rem connection on the amp. if you only have an aerial one you mate need to push the 'af' button as that seemed to turn the ariel function on and off on my last sony. :-) edit : to slow
-
i was talking about testing it, but i agree you dont want it on all the time. It wont however do it any harm to test, that way you can tell if its your rem feed
-
halfords now do it, worth a look as they seem cheap.
-
unlikly on the upper part, in terms of stopping conduction. overspill from filling maybe, wd40 etc.
-
good to see your car is still around, the bloke i sold my syncro golf to is now braking on ebay :confused4:
-
anyone tried the new autoglym yet? meant to be really good and low dust etc. at the moment i am mostly using that blue symol stuff...smelllls pretty
-
foofin hell! big is all i can say, should look classy!
-
you could just bridge the 12+ and teh rem terminals with the same feed if you have no rem feed.
-
the wont fit, will need mk2 style subframes. Could be welded to your corrado ones but would likly need someone that has doe it before. the mk3 subframe is wider than the C as mr D pointed out :-D
-
normally my amps dont come on with poor grounds, also i take it you have put 12 to the +ve and the rem on connections?
-
well £60 iin the last 2 days on track rod, nother £20 on monday to have tracking adjusted. based on that being an average few days im not going to add it up
-
yeah 8v bock is a goodun, had a golf syncro a while back that was on 175k and had likley not seen much attention before i go it, bit of work, gti bits and it was a flying machine. engine rebuild could take may forms depending on how far you want to go. Its fairly easy to rebuild the head (new tappest, vales gear, seals). The block isnt that hard once you have it out and all the bits you need. Depends on if any bore damange of course
-
little bumpstop type things may need adjusting?
-
also tyre places can just slap some black goo in there that seals the rim.
-
indeed it was/is! Well after a few hours of foofin about its all in and has improved the feel of the car no end. I did make the mistake of not getting a new boot so i had to go to VW for one (no where else open) and its cost the princely sum of £21!!!!!!!! and 2 for the clips!!! so with another VW bargin under my belt the old track rod with about 2-3 mm play is safely in the bin. thanks supercharged, thanks guys! :-D
-
When jacked, the wheel will move side to side by a few mm (same when you pull on the track rod) but it is hard to tell where the movement came from rack end or track end (em end). The arm i have got goes from the normal tie end to a big threded end . have i been given the right part? edit. i assume that the rod is fixed to the end of the rack and ball jointed to the strut.
-
what your engine mounts like? mine feels a bit like this at very low speed and as far as i can tell its the mounts being a bit sloppy. planning on changing them shortly so ill keep you updated.
-
So you dont think ill get away with using a big hammer? I knew i would have to do it the correct way  is it just the one spanner i will be needing? not sure i have a 32mm so will buy one?
-
oh dear its sounding worse and worse, i was worried this may be the case. but thanks for teh info so far, keep it coming. Im acctually not really sure how the track rod could cause movment now, as its solid where its connects to teh rack?? well ill get the boot off and have a look. keep the ideas coming :-)
