should i be geting beaten by these cars?
sciroccotune replied to mistrall's topic in General Car Chat
dont need to go to the red in a 2l, power falls off before that. i think peak power is like 5200 or something... as for getting beaten by 1.4s, cant say it happened to me. maybe off the lights but only for a short time as my corrado tends to skip and wheel spin.. :) -
coss you like it this way ? random question has your car always had the back seat hump?
-
when i went 'hump' i didnt cut holes etc as the hump just squeezes in between the seats. of course you dont have the tilt this way but no cutting and messing about!
-
I know it sounds silly, but have you checked the wur is getting 12v? when i built my syncro gti this caused problems for ages before i managed to sort it, dodgy connection on the wur. from what i remember it gets 12v all the time.

is it k jet from a 1,8 or ke jet as found on 2l16v???
-
you can get black ones like mine, you wouldn't even know they were there so its like getting rid of them but way cheaper :)
-
Take it that its 1.8, if that the case the euc does the timing, so there must be a thermo time switch involved...in fact sure that there is, on the gearbox side of the block maybe? hope you get it sorted mate, sorry i cant be more help not so familiar with the 16v kjet but WUR is my bet to.

second one makes me want to go GT style with the corrado and tour france or such like!!! mmmm sunny
-
can see it now, my monitor at work was to dark.. come on gradeA knock one up
-
Make sure you don’t go pushing the peddle with no fluid in as you can damage the seals as far as I know. As for the bad feel, my corrado is like that to, but not so bad. does your car have a rear compensator? If so you are meant to have the spring unloaded (removed) to do the backs correctly if my memory serves.

i like it! i want my raddo like that, thinking about getting at least the bonnet done! :-)

ttt :-) -
Does anyone know any good places to get vauxhall parts?? My stepdads frontera needs a new middle and back box for the exhaust and the cheapest quote has been around £490 from vauxhall themselves. its a 3.2 limited ed.. if that helps It just seems a little steep to me! so if i can get the parts ill do the fitting. cheers guys!!

since the pads get thinner quick, can you not use a vented rear disc, they have to be 2x as thick. im sure i have seen 5 stud passats, 1.8t, with these???
-
i like em, red with red car cant go wrong.
-
not sure if it would be a problem in terms of heat but are they long enough? and are they better than normal ones out of interest?

Is it possible just to set the camber on the front by loosening the bolts that hold the struts on and putting the cars weight on the wheel letting it settle to full camber (may need some jacking and help but you see what i mean) and nipping up? Is the full camber offered by stock struts to much, as in it will cause problems in the wet? sorry just a random tonight really. :D

yeah true, it is made by texico but then again they are not that big in the uk so... loving the tesco avatar
