  1. i have seen C that look spot on and have all sorts of pannels. maybe they have been in crashes but i suspect that vw did a bit of random styling with what they had left  AHving said that i would say that it is mor early parts on late cars than the otherway round..
  2. well i pay that for a 16v so cant be all bad ;-) im only 22 ofcourse..
  3. good trick is to see if its an ht lead is to run the car with each lead disconnected in turn and see which one makes a difference. also its worth checking you have not disconnected any wires whilst cleaning. check for vac leaks around that fuel dizzy also :-)
  4. sump plug is anti clock when looking at it (i.e its points to the rear of the car on the gti/16v corrado). as long as you have the synta oil in a silver bottle its good. fairly sure the same goes for the filter. worth putting some oil in the new filter before you put it on the engine and remember to oil the 'o' ring too. have fun p.s put some paper down as its a messy job
  5. deffo as above! If your car is at normal ride hight you may not need to jack it up to drain the oil. oil filter about £4 from VAG 5l oil from vag £13 last time sump plug washer £.60 from vag (all as you say) I would use 10w40 (the silver stuff from vag) for the GTI and likly the Vr aswell. so all is fine with that!
  6. I would guess that its a vauxhall vectra..nice work too 8) the best thing for plastics is the sutoglym stuff. its liquid smooth 8) nice work too :)
  7. red!!!! wooo... liking the black wheels
  8. saw something coming towards me last night, looked cool, didnt catch on it was a raddo till we passed each other. Thinking green 16v around the newcastle/gateshead area :-)
  9. koni ta with standard springs is just fine ;-) but they cry out for a 30mm drop.
  10. im guessing that if you want to sand touch up paint its gonna need a while to cure just like any paint. is it not 2 weeks before you use compound?
  11. how much diff has that made Kev? think mine are going the same way...
  12. Thanks again guys, you lot understand my pain, most of my mates just see it as a car! I think im gonna look into the door plates as i have managed to bend the door back into place and (after getting it open, turned out it was just locked with the key and the plastic locking tab for the CL was snaped) it may at least be a short term solution. p.s its Durham Cathedrial
  13. the switch in the coolent tank can die, i had to replace that too. good stuff :-) not sure if the 60 has that black box in the engine bay but may be worth checking the fuse on that to, just 30 amp fuse wire if i recall.
  14. thanks for the info guys and ill try C&R. I cant even open the door from the inside! looks like they have wiggled the insides of the door something bad! I may give the same method that they used a try  anyway looks like i will be getting the bus to work tonight!
  15. my fan switch died a few weeks back...same problem solved with new switch. deffo worth a look. you can just bridge the contacts on the connector to test its not a fuse/bad wire etc..
  16. thanks guys, sadly i dont think that mk2 golf plates will fit, thanks anyway. any one know where you can get corrado ones? i guess i could have a look what they are like. :-) and cheers Neil Second problem is i cant get the door open! anyone know how i can do this with out killing the door card?
  17. Thanks guys!! in some ways im kinda impressed that the C held its own. I guess it could have been much worse! Still i am now sitting in a uni computer room waiting for the police to call!!! Indecently i was locked in the car park so would have been forced to stay anyway
  18. Well all I have to say is bunch of thevin tossers!!! My car was parked in one of the university car parks since mid day today and I return to find that some one has put a screwdriver between the door and handle wrecking both!!!!!!      The door wont even open!! On the plus side the F**kers didn't get me C, it beat them!!! Hopefully something will come of the cctv but I wont get my hopes up. Anyway it means that I now need a new drivers door before I can secure the car again! Looking for flash red peeps, and ill put a post in wanted later. Final question, how have you guys dealt with such instances in terms of fixing the door??
