Goofs and other probs with our Rado - Report

i would be up for a copy if they are going.....time to brush up on my 5 year old german skills (been meaning to get roud to it lol) -
i think my alpine has a 3.5mm mini jack on the back and an aux option.

Now you cant really say that, fair play if its your opinion but they are far from cack. As for the whole 8v golf thing I must disagree. My 8v golf/scirocco was nice for low down but had now where near the top end pull of the 16v esp. the 2L!. If you want something cheap (ish) and reliable (i don’t find the engine especially hard to work on, but i have had experience with k jet in the past) then go for the 16v - get a 2l for the abs and better torque. If its all out power with cheap mods you want i would choose a g60 and go for staged charger, pulley and chip then smile at a close to 200bhp car. IMO I would go for the VR though, simply for the lazy power and the noise  - not forgetting that all rados are super cool :afro:

and of course she is so pretty :-)

-

Reducing centre bore fitment on alloys ?
sciroccotune replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Drivetrain
Only reliable way would be to have new spigot machined really.. An engineering company should be able to do it for you wit aluminium -

bad luck mate, mine look the same tbh!! Would help but live in newcastle (BTTT lol) -
not sure if the shape makes a differance but i have the round one. Ill check the part number later for you..
-
get em pressed, looks so much better. welded ones can crack round the seams..
-
Sorry, I meant that could just need the assembly tightening up. Happened to me I took the hub off again, re greased and put back it together making sure that the bearing was seated correctly then tightened it up and all was well (touch wood). Will be worth just tightening it up first I would have thought..
-
can happen mate, but could just need to be niped up... at least worth a try...
-
yep as above on my car...:-)
-
you could use your leads on the 2l as far a i know mate..
-
its under the gear selector cover, lift it up and you will see the connector on the left (near where the dash meets the gear thing) :-)
-
Hmm so mainly from wet, may be worth getting the ecu out and examining it as I hear they can leak sometimes, also may be worth spraying every contact you can find with some contact cleaner. Do cheap things first. I still think that vag com would be able to show a sensor short, one of the ccgb guys did it for me so may be worth a go is your friend is going to ed38
-
Hmm an odd one for sure! Over fuelling when cold?? I guess vag com could tell you if there is a sensor fault, but is fairly basic on a 9a
-
Assuming no moisture in dizzy have a look at the WOT switch.. Can’t remember how to test however. does it only happen with full throttle etc..

Massive instability under braking & spin. Oh dear.
sciroccotune replied to jonrb's topic in General Car Chat
Chris that’s the one! Nearly had my rocco, ended up letting go of the wheel (last hope) and thankfully it just about ended up going straight!! As for the spinning incident its well worth having all things geometry checked after such an event
