Just phoned up about a respray, 3k was the quote  Bit rich for my budget!
-
Guess you don't do resprays :)
-
Mr Tom is VR6 who's VR6??? My girlfriend's brother
-
I'll raise Tom's offer to a fully functional unchewed draught excluder.

Mr Tom is VR6
-
Looks like OBD1
-
Yikes, that's a bargain, the schrick and s/c alone must be worth near 3k
-
How much did the engine set you back?
-
If only he didn't have MPRESIV as his registration
-
178 is the Golf VR6, 190 is the Corrado The Golf is a 2.8 and the Corrado is a 2.9

I saw a load of dead chickens in the middle reservation of the M4 when I was over last.

That one always makes me giggle like a little girl.

Then they should build bit's that don't break  -
Happy birthday (you old git) :) Sorry, a lil bit off topic!

I know it's sacrilege, and I really wouldn't have wanted to, but I was just thinking of the car I could have had if I broke my rado. I added up what I would have had to spend if I broke my rado. Insurance: 3250 (4k less buy back and excess) Sold Schrick/BMC: 1,000 Breaking - £1-2K? So I could have had £5250+ to spend, which would have had me a much better condition rado than I have at the moment.

Time to go 24v? Seems like the best replacement option for a VR6 at the moment.
-
I overcorrected as well, and ended up going sideways...I didn't have the excuse of having to avoid anything though.
-
I know all too well how this feels, just getting mine back after crashing it 5 1/2 months ago. Glad you're OK.

Decided to get the ride sorted this time before the engine, so got rid of the shrek, and bought coilies. It's pretty much ready, and the insurance have just given me another grand, so I'll have to decide what to spend that on. ATM it's either new rimmage, put it towards a respray or get an 32" LCD TV (obviously not for the car)

Insurance: given me a rubbish offer: Finally resolved.

They never took my car, so it was pretty easy to get mine back. That's a bit of a crapper tho, them losing the car, reckon some scrappy had it? -

Just got a phonecall now, they are sending me another grand, so I'm pretty happy with £4,000 as an outcome, car cost me £400 to buy back, and £350 excess. -
I suppose it didn't quite burn :-) It's almost like getting a new car, hope I don't miss the Schrick too much, better start saving for a snail :-)
-
Insured the car as of next Tuesday, only got the lights to fit and the slam panel to change this weekend then it should be roadworthy. Bit nervous though... I've been stuck driving a £50 mondeo and a 1.4 polo for 5 months, and the C is a bit of a different animal! (especially considering last time I drove her I crashed and burned)
-
Yeah, it tends to rub a bit, especially without an uprated front mount. You have to cut a bit of the bonnet strut away.

They came through when I did a VR6 specific wheels.
