  1. Did you ever used to park on manor avenue in fletton? Used to see a white corrado parked there a couple of years back. Went to the meet at sub11 either last year or the year before, so would be good to make it again if I can, although will have just had our second baby so will be a maybe until the day itself!

Have you seen the one for sale on the forum? Looks in better nick than either of those, but a bit more $$ too..... http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?78097-VW-Corrado-VR6-Storm-Interior
  3. Yep - have to say I love the snow! Original post was on Mon when the forecast on my phone was that we wouldn't get any more this week..... Have had the Corrado since 2005 when I moved up here! Initially was my daily when lived in Hampton for the first year I was here then moved to Fletton in 2006 where the car was just street parked most days, as used to cycle into work so only took the C out at weekends.... Have recently moved to Oundle so back to using it as my daily and loving it (except for the sunroof which I now need to fix after it's finally gone after 151k!) Think we have a mutual friend in Quicky1980......
  4. Here's another pic for you of H&R / Koni TAs in the snow!
  5. Sorry to hear that stone - hope it's not too painful to get sorted. Was more careful today but still really impressed with winter tyres - much more grip than I think I'd have had with my toyo t1r's...
  6. Hate to say it but sounds very familiar to the MAF - started to drive to the shops fine, in shops for 10 mins then took ten mins of trying to start it! Next day was fine again, but then played up a few days later again. Hopefully not the case and that it was just a random blip for you....
  7. Sound very similar to when my MAF went - difficult to start but once warmed up was fine, seem to recall the MAF is less critical once the engine is warmed up and running? There's a Bosch MAF in the below sale thread.... http://www.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?78761-Lots-of-parts-Wheels-recaros-oily-bits-etc
  8. As Ian says you'll need new discs and pads as the main benefit of the upgrade is the increased pad contact area between the pad and the disc because the mk3 pads are so much larger - the actual diameter difference of 8mm makes very little difference as far as I understand....
  9. Another vote for the 288s - very pleased with mine. They do just fit under speedies, but had to get my wheels rebalanced so that the weights were right up against the inside of the spokes if that makes sense, otherwise they rubbed (and made quite an annoying sound!) on the calipers.
  10. Anyone else have fun playing in the snow today? Couldn't resist driving home along the back roads to finally give my winter tyres a good test which was great fun! On the ungritted roads round here there were some pretty slippy patches that you could easily spin the fronts on with a gentle nudge on the throttle, but the tyres pulled it straight back into line if it started to wander round corners..... Sadly no more snow forecast for us this week tho :(
  11. Wow that's a fair bit of inflation! Did mine (Drivers side Wiper Arms * 2, Drivers side Wiper Blade & passenger side wiper blade) for £79.37 from my local VW garage back in 2006!
  12. Just had a look at the above - €94.50 posted! Was thinking about it until I saw the price, €26 postage is a bit of a killer! Although stays at €26 postage regardless of how many you buy, so would be worth getting a group buy if anyone does go for it - they may even do a discount on the part cost too then!
  13. Yep had jumped the gun assuming it was a vr! Hope it all goes well...
  14. Hi, If you're considering a rebuild it's worth checking if cylinders 1 and 6 have any ovalisation, as they are prone to this which contributes to the oil consumption and I'm not convinced new pistons / rings will cure this (others may be able to give more definitive advice on this!) If you're doing this may be worth considering a rebore and oversized pistons. Cheers Phil
  15. Is selling the daily and using your current Corrado as your daily an option?
  16. Hi, I'll take this as was need one to eliminate an occasional stalling issue but didn't want to pay dealer prices. Thanks Phil
  17. Just got a replacement roof to have a go at this with as I've got this too!
  18. Yep was done 6000 miles after the rebuild - Vince reckoned it was still a little tight as the higher power result was after we'd let the engine cool down for a bit so might well do it again in the summer by which time it should have covered 12 - 15k. Engine is standard except for jetex stainless exhaust and vibratechnics front engine mounting. Know exactly what you mean about driving a diesel versus a vr - I'm rubbish at driving my other half's TDI!!!
  19. Sorry for slow response - have now got the torque and power graphs below from two runs. You can see why you feel the kick at 4000 rpm! If you're getting it more round 5, might be worth getting it redone although unsure as to if / why peak torque speed would have changed - would be interesting to see if there is much difference if the cars still in the same spec as the original... Cheers Phil
  20. Got one from Halfords for £13 many years ago that iirc looks identical to OE.....
  21. Think I've got a 94 VR6 drivers side arm that you can have if Rob can't dig one out - do you have the part number from the broken one, as I'm not 100% sure if it's drivers or passengers side!
  22. I knew someone would ask that! Not sure off the top off my head but may have it in my folder of receipts - at a guess maybe a litre every 3000?
  23. Gutted for you - some people are complete low lifes.
  24. Hi, have also had a stealth rebuild and am using synta silver - prob done about 8k on it and it still burns a little bit of oil but I think that's pretty normal for a vr, think the manual says up to 1l per 1000 miles! Wouldn't have thought it would be that high at 75k though. Have to say the power on mine still kicks in around 4000 rpm - will dig out the rr print out if you like from about 5k after the rebuild...
  25. Have got a drivers side one but it does have a crack in it, so depends on what you're after! See ad: http://www.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?77857-280-Brakes-Wiper-Arm-Drivers-footwell-kickplate-Cracked-RHS-front-indicator&p=939095#post939095
