    Sunroof fixes

VW were selling repair kits for the lhs and the rhs but don't know if they're still available.... Otherwise try some of the guys on here who regularly have breakers where you may be able to get the bits you need or a full working cassette - just be wary that the electrical connector is different on early and late models....
  2. Does the Skoda have unlimited mileage on the warranty? Impressed if it's still under warranty with that mileage. Am biased as have got an 05 A4 avant, which am a big fan of. Quattro handling is immense and I think in s line trim it looks way better than the super - b, but boot size is definitely small for the size of car, especially with two kids a a large dog! Our compromise is a roof box for the family holiday! I think both will be solid cars, the a4 a bit more fun, the super b a bit more practical.
  3. Needs an active spoiler for a start if it's going to be a Corrado! Link doesn't work on a phone but does on a Pc....
  4. Any idea on what sort of miles are on the cat? And would you post or where abouts are you based?
  5. That sounds a lot better than what they cost from the dealers!
  6. Have you seen the motor calibration described in the Pdf for sunroof repair in the wiki? Put a link to it in one of my posts last week after I repaired my sunroof in case that helps - it's towards the end of the write up....
  7. Pretty sure that top end on mine at stealth included chains and tensioners, but recall that stealth now use a mk 4 hold tensioner as there we've durability issues with the original....
  8. Hi, Interested in the cat, presume is original vw - any idea of age / mileage / condition and what price posted? Cheers Phil
  9. Repaired my sunroof for the first time! Working so far....chuffed! Just hope I've aligned it correctly and it doesn't "whistle" when I take it out for the first time!
  10. Should be there - had to get my car weatherproof again as been doing my sunroof the last couple of days so now have a working sunroof for the first time in the last 18 months! Now just need some sun for the weekend! Cheers Phil
  11. Evening, Finally got round to repairing my sunroof (only taken 18 months to get round to it!). Really helped out by the article in the wiki - anyone know who wrote this as would definitely like to thank them for taking the effort to write this up! Also hadn't realised that there were early and late models of sunroof, as the replacement roof I had was an early model (hence motor wiring different from my late model) and then found that a late motor doesn't fit an early frame! Hence stripped both and made a late working model from the two! Fingers crossed after all the effort that it lasts a while! Also found that refitting the headlining and the internal seal between the headlining and the frame significantly reduced a nasty vibration when sliding the roof back - guessing that the seal provides some sort of support to reduce / remove the vibration in case this helps anyone in the future.... also that the headlining was a lot easier to fit back in by sliding it in from the front of the windscreen backwards if that makes sense, as then there is a lot less headlining to get past the B and C trim if you haven't fully removed them (whilst I 'm sure they're very simple, wasn't keen on messing around with the seat belts!) http://direct.the-corrado.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=11234&d=1125498176 Cheers Phil
  12. I tried both vw and speedline a couple of years ago - both said no, try the other!
  13. Just did a similar exercise for my dad - ended up with the 2.0tdi passat as a compromise between the A6 and one of the two Skodas.....
  14. Interesting that it's on lowering springs but is also totally unmodified and standard according to the description!
  15. If anyone needs some of the blue grommets for fixing the rear VW badge let me know before Friday - just ordered 4 from the dealer but they come in a pack of 20! Cost price of £0.71 each plus postage if it saves anyone a trip to their dealers!
  16. Me too, ordered this morning with lastchance30 which worked a treat - thanks for posting up the code Steve, much appreciated.
  17. Sadly renew30 doesn't seem to be working now as just tried and not valid for bulbs, so £17 for the twin pack....
  18. Just had mine changed as it was leaking from the seam - only problem is now all the rest of the plastics in the bay look very tired and dirty in comparison! Worth doing though just for ease of coolant level checking!
  19. Bit confused - Why is it only good for m or n reg cars? Thought you could transfer a plate onto any car?
  20. Hi, Can you supply just the connectors that go onto the connector on the headlight unit itself? I've already got an upgraded loom but it just uses spade connectors onto the terminals, so would be nice to finish it off with oe connectors... Thanks, Phil
  21. Could also be due to the flat battery - the ecu learns the response of the isv and controls it accordingly so if the battery went completely this learning is lost. My vr did a similar thing when I changed the battery and then got better with time/miles, although eventually I still replaced the isv to correct the occasional stall that was still occurring....
  22. Hi, may be able to help - have a look at my fairly old for sale post as ended up keeping it when I moved! Have got more photos if it's of interest....
  23. Unfortunately Sub11 has closed down - didn't get a response to emails / phone calls so popped over there a couple of months ago to find the place all shut up sadly as James was a good guy. Jabbasport seem ok but they're focused on forced induction, so depends on what you've got! Whilst it's a bit of a trek, when I lived in Peterborough I used to go to Stealth in Southam for anything serious as their knowledge is excellent - about 1hr 15 to get there.
  24. If this stops them rattling them yes please on the next set!
