  1. I've had Samos for over 10 years now on various VR's. never had a single problem. Thing that put me off the roose was the plastic connectors on the top water pipe, bound to go brittle with age. You will also need to get hoses for the oil cooler as these dont usually come with the samco kit.
  2. Replaced my Corrado motor with one from my old golf. All seems to fit ok But can anyone confirm if this is positioned right ?
  3. I did my stem seals not long ago, but wished I had done valve guides too. Vince @ Stealth says they would usually need doing after 80k I'm on 119k now and it's burning oil pretty quickly but bottom end is fine. Pete
  4. Same problem here mate. Everything moves nice and freely until I connect up to my heater controls. Broke my second of controls now.
  5. If it ain't broke, don't fix it :)
  6. Looks great. Will be speaking to Peter shortly. Will post up anything worth mentioning from our conversation later.
  7. Progress... Developed things a little more today. The rear box on the far right is our standard part but with the rolled edge removed and the slash cut increased to match the OE box. The effect seems to be to make the tip look larger. It would be interesting to see it on a car as it could still look quite aggressive but it's not the solution for getting closer or to an OE resemblance. I then knocked up a tip using some 76mm tube (slightly smaller than the OE 81mm as I did't have any 81mm) and ovalised that in the press, then slash cut to match OE. When positioned relative to a std. box everything begins to look the part. Whilst this all might look like good progress it's purpose is really to help me understand what's what. The process to go to jig, mock up proto, trial fit etc is easier in theory than in practice simple due to my time constraints etc. I am committed to sort something out without firm orders etc as this takes me back to my roots, but it will need to run to my timetable.
  8. Don't forget it's the V6 Festival at brooklands on the 26th October.... Wouldn't want them clashing ;)
  9. Remind me to never go to Darling Buds Classic Car Show! I will advise anyone from the VR6 Owners Club not to bother either.
  10. Kleenfreaks have confirmed and TTOC attendance. Going be a great day with a good range of cars at an awesome location!
  11. Vr6oc did one few months ago at stealth.. was a good turnout from folk on here too.
  12. My rack is goosed. Turns easily left, heavy to the right... Sometimes it feels lighter turning right at times. Strange.
  13. Mines actually working fine, just upgraded to the new version that came out today. Search works great too. I did have some issues the other week that I fixed by deleting the app and re-downloading. Been fine since and lightening fast. Pete
  14. It's for full system only, not sure how just a back-box could work, as there are many makes and presumably with different fitments, unless anyone has successfully (for example) fitted a Miltek backbox onto a Jetex system without any cutting and faffing about, I'd have personally a thought the Dub Power back-box has been specifically designed to be used with the rest of their system. In order to keep this a reasonably prices system, we are just looking at re-profiling the tailpipe to give it the OE look, hopefully the tailpipe wont be "rolled" either like shown in the picture. I don't think that any company would be interested in that because you compromise the quality of a good product and add the risk of running into fitment issues, something which Dub Power pride them selves on doing. I can ask though. Here is the product page: http://dubpower.co.uk/Exhaust%20systems.HTM
  15. Here I'd how their current system looks. The quality and fitment is superb, however I can't comment on, however I'm sure others will. Sound preferences will always get different opinions. So this will simply sound like a dub power exhaust but have the look of an OE.
  16. Peter is planning on I to have a go at re-profiling the tail pipe tip this week and see how it looks.
  17. Right guys, here's the crack, most standard exhausts are falling apart. Not many good after market alternative... Apart from Dub Power, but doesn't have that OE look as the angles are out! Well, I've been talking to Peter from Dub Power, he now has in his hands a standard exhaust, and plans to modify the existing design. Here is the current dub power design side by side. Would anyone else be interested it these were mass manufactured to be more OEM looking? Just trying to gauge interest here...
  18. Hi mate. Yeah black is what I'm after :)
  19. My flaps (excuse the pun) all move with ease with the cables disconnected. It's really weird. The cables also move easily also when disconnected from everything.
  20. Pretty sure I might have some ABS bulbs in my garage from when I soldered a new one on my board. You can get them from RS Components, but quantities of 20.
  21. I bought new ones last year. 115 quid, if they are going for this much I'm gonna sell em lol
  22. No probs. fitted my seat back in and have it a good hoovering!! Just dash trims to refit and come up with a solution for my heater controls!
  23. Hand brake handle plastic and bulk head heat shield that covers ABS pipes? Do you have these pal?
  24. Does the travel seem normal on this guys? Trying determine why the second set of heater controls have given up again... Seems to go really stiff once everything is connected up, but all appears to move freely when disconnected from the controls?
