  1. Well said Walesy, Tesco's comes in handy for some things but as far as fresh food goes it cannot compare to the produce you can find in local butchers / bakers and farm shops. Frankly I'd rather spend more on fresh quality ingredients and not eat some crap from a supermarket that's been made in a factory somewhere and is full of god knows what, the bread is especially sh!t when compared to a freshly baked loaf from a good bakery, I bought an organic loaf from tesco recently and it was vile. As for steak, it tastes loads better when it's been aged instead of the bright pink supermarket cuts that look pretty but taste of nothing.
  2. That's a great score mattosmond, but the gameweek isn't over yet  (I'll not get the top score mind, but someone else might)
  3. That's very cool 8) , maybe not much use as a shift light but who cares when it looks that good
  4. Mine used to be very similar to what you describe (appart from the creaking) before having both the engine mounts and gearbox mount replaced, it's improved a heck of a lot now but isn't as smooth as I'd like when engaging a gear, although as far as I'm aware it's still on the original clutch and gearbox (it's currently on about 151K miles)
  5. Looks good, in fact the exterior looks almost identical to mine :) the only differences I can see are my grill badges and wipers are standard, oh and my wheels are very rarely that clean.
  6. £175 it's the same for all older cars over 1400cc, £96.25 for 6 months.
  7. Cool, guess now we'll finally see how he copes in the premier league.
  8. Good result for me last night, despite being in top spot for ages that was the first time I've ever got the highest score! :) Loads of games in the next gameweek, probably a good time to make transfers / change captain.
  9. The previous owner of mine was a woman, also seen women driving them around Exeter, one in a blue storm, the other in a red valver. Like scarlett says, plenty of women drive rados, there's just not that many who post on here.
  10. I've got highsports and really don't rate them, don't get me wrong they're great if you want it slammed to the floor and the handling's great, but the ride is too bumpy for my (and a lot of passengers) liking. IMHO you're better off saving up for ones that have adjustable damping, getting jarred over small bumps and acquiring even more interior rattles soon loses its appeal.
  11. So what? For me, none of them have the appeal of a nineties 911 turbo, and since I neither know nor care what it's proper model name is, I call it "the black one from bad boys". The reason it gets mentioned so often is because everyone remembers how great it looks.
  12. The only porka I want is the black 911 turbo from Bad Boys, did toy with the idea of a 944 (s2 or turbo) for a while but decided the rear end looks far too dated nowadays.
  13. They have booklets in Halfords that tell you which ones are suitable for your car
  14. There's a popular nudist beach in Budleigh, you can see loads of people on it but it doesn't zoom in far enough to see anything .... not that you'd want to though, most of the people that go there are pretty old :gag:
  15. Rodders is right there, a £2K one will be way more trouble than it's worth, it's not just the engine that's pricey either, they have auto levelling rear suspension which will cost a fortune to repair if there's anything wrong, plus all the other bits on them are pretty hard to get hold of and damned expensive. Definitely not something to use as a cheap track car! Awesome cars though if they're in good nick, supposedly the best handling saloon car of the eighties and the evo version spanked the m3 in the DTM championships at the time. Oh and the 2.5 had f*** all to do with cosworth, if anything it could be badged as an AMG. Only the 2.3 had a cosworth designed (earlier ones were also manufactured by them) head, and even that one in my book is no more a cossie than any vauxhall with a red-top engine.
  16. Can't argue with the mini, my first car was a 1.0 mini mayfair when I was 17, brilliant fun, towards the end of it's life we stripped literally everything unnecessary off it bar the drivers seat and it really flew round the streets! Easily the most fun I've ever had in a car before the rado :)
  17. a passat indeed!?! I'll admit from a distance the front end (esp the fogs/indicators) looks similar to the older passats, but it's only from the front.
  18. That's not CorradoDriver's car btw. Nice motor though.
  19. Verrrrrry nice! Not convinced about the rear end but I love how understated it is for such a monster 8)
  20. The Rieger illuminated ones look pretty cool http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20863&highlight=
  21. I'm no expert on this but the last time I spoke to someone in the know he said it works out better to lease a car yourself and get your employer to pay you expenses to cover the cost of the lease. That way you don't get done by the company car tax.
  22. Do a search for 'recaro', there's plenty of threads about them. No real significance, earlier rado's had red VR6 badges, later ones had chrome badges. Depends what they look like, generally I would say it's easier selling a car with standard alloys. Probably only a few hundred auto's, definitely not as desirable as manuals. If you haven't got the original service book (which lists all the options on the car) your best bet would be to ask a VW dealer for the history, I don't know if they'll be able to tell you what options it had but they can give you copies of any services it's had at VW dealers. Get it insured as a second car, TPF&T with extremely limited mileage, shouldn't cost too much, plus it will be easier to sell with tax as potential buyers will be able to legally test drive it and get it home. Perfectly normal for the faces of brake discs to go a bit rusty when they've not been used, nothing to worry about. Cracked fog lamps are a common problem with all corrado's. Can't really comment on value without seeing pictures of any damage.
  23. Doesn't look too bad, could probably get a decent size FMIC behind that
  24. Everyone always says that but I had the same advisory on my last MOT so I had the bushes changed, as well as having a rear ARB fitted, but didn't notice that much of a difference :? Maybe it depends on how fecked the old ones were? Anyway, make sure you get VAG parts (£70 inc vat), my mechanic was telling me that pattern rear beam bushes he's been asked to fit to mk2s have needed a fair amount of "persuasion" to go on, whereas the VAG ones drop straight on. The southwest is great! My car was in the garage for the best part of two days having a load of new bits fitted and I only got charged £160 inc vat for the labour :)
