  1. Stole this fair and square from club gti. Nice little read about the G60 engine and how it works: http://www.ballisticpower.com/G60General/index.htm Check out the site it's self too - there's talk of 16VG60's and a G60 TSI!!!
  2. I've broken that linkage before now, it's a bit of a weak design. I had to tie it on with some electrical cable to get me home!

    G60 fuel pump

Some of the early G60 have only one pump. I've defineatley only got one pump, I know what the the external ones look like as I used to have a valver. How do I wire/plumb in the KR one to work with my existing unit?

    G60 fuel pump

How can I uprate a standard G60 fuel pump? I have the early type with the single in-tank pump.
  5. Well I pressed them right through anyway, if it blows up i'll post pictures!
  6. OK so I have a set of these ready to go in. I brought them from BBM and i'm sure they're the right ones, but I'm having trouble pressing them in. When I'm pressing them they go through the rod it's self just fine but the raised spines are too big to go into the cap easily without cutting quite deeply into it. Are they meant to cut in or am I doing something wrong?

    door pins

Not sure what you mean, have you got a pic?
  9. lol, i remember when mine clocked over to 100,000 - still got a pic somewhere
  10. By the breather pipe, do you mean MFA vacuum pipe? I think the digital clocks use a digital speedo drive not a worm gear and cable, not sure though.
  11. This is a great book, I got one when I was about 16 or so, well worth it
  12. excellent, good luck
  13. Just had a quick look on etka and it appears that all the 4 cyl models use the same driveshafts so it's all good. Could have sworn the G60's thicker
  14. Yeh i think the shaft is thicker on a G60 (or one of them is anyway) but i would have thought you could fit a G60 to a 16V or vice versa because they would be the same length.
  15. We need some competition to race against. So we've been trying to spread the word some more - see if we can get some rival teams. My mates next door neighbour built a kart last summer though, it was basically two bikes cut and shut to make a kind of trike but it was no match for the mighty binsleigh.
  16. This is my second project, it's a highly modified wheelie bin that we started to build when we were at school, it then steadily evolved to what you see today: 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf23092007033.jpg[/attachment:57bdd] Spec: 9.81 mid mounted Isaac Newton engine Kids bike front wheels with bb's mountain bike rear wheels with bb's Digital speedo perpex windsheild Very crude adjustable ride height suspension seat 23092007034.jpg[/attachment:57bdd] Top speed is currently 29.8mph but we have a top secret 'nos' plan in the pipeline to push us over the 30 barrier. check out the myspace too for videos and construction pics.
  17. have a look at vagcat.com it's basically an online version of ETKA you will find the part number there.
  18. The compression ratio still has to be lowered as it's the increase in air pressure due to the turbo that causes an increase in charge temperature and that causes pre-ingition of the mixture. The overall strength does play a small part though.
  19. Iam looking for an uprated fuel pump for a G60 with the single in tank fuel pump. After reading a few posts i've found out that some folk have fitted Sytec and Walbro units. But which one do I ask for and where do I get one? Thanks

    ENGINE

twice as long as it's half length :)
  21. Yeh I rate them, I got a full set on my G60
  22. VWspares do nice OE Febi ones for £38.12.

    ENGINE

Quite a question. Can you be a bit more specific?
  24. 'Twas very nice. I thought it was just a TT at first lol, then I was like hang on it's got a set of extra calipers for the hand brake at the back - then it clicked.
