  1. But for a gauge wouldn't a wide band be bettter? You could weld in the boss for it into the exhaust and wire it into the gauge and that way you can keep the standard one in place for the ECU to read
  2. So you didn't get the crank ground at all? If not, check that you've got standard bearings in there and not +20's or anything. Check the torques for the big ends and maybe measure the ovality of the big ends.
  3. Happy days, Halfords have a selection box and my local store has them in stock. Halfords have saved the day so many times
  4. Chances of them being open on a saturday though? Think i'm just gunna have to get up early a tour the town
  5. Hi, does anyone know where I can get some new A/C o-rings without having to wait? They are the ones that go between the compressor and the pipes
  6. Recently got one done on the Golf, wasn't through insurance but it cost £130 fitted. Went with National Windscreens, the guy comes to your house and does it in about an hour. Happy days if you ask me
  7. Green bulbs do work for sprayed lights, had them on my old Corrado and just put some on my Mk3 Golf
  8. My mk3 VR6 has the exact same problem, changed the pump as I thought it might not have been getting enough pressure but it still doesn't come out of the nozzle!
  9. I can supply you one, can post it on monday first class or sooner if you'd like. Looking about £50 posted? see here:

    horn wiring

Might not be the relay, maybe a knackered horn. They're right in the line of fire behind the grill, worth getting a test lamp on the case.
  11. I had them on my old 16V, they look great - especially the one's with the flat centre caps. Don't have any pics to hand tho, sorry
  12. I had them on for a about 6 months and they still looked great, can't believe they're the same one's! I used some red light spray together with green indicator bulbs. It was the correct lambda according to ETKA, so I went by that. I'd check the injector wiring harness, bit of a classic G60 prob and then the ECU, seem to remember if the harness goes it messes up the injector driver in the ECU. Only found the books the other day, must have completly slipped my mind, PM me your address and i'll get them in the post. The VR6's sound and drive lovely, really miss having a Corrado tho, it's true they properly get under your skin! I reckon the next logical step has to be a VR6 Corrado probably in blackberry. Saying that though the VR6 Golf's getting a few tasty bits (312mm brakes, mk4 rears, braided hoses.....) Can't remember how long I had the Golf GTI, must have only drove it for a couple of months, got good money breaking it though, still got bits of it around now!
  13. My old car mate! Broke the oak green and bought a mk3 VR6. How you getting on with it? Those all red rear lights I had on it were mint! Came out perfect! Hope you got good money for them lol. By the way, i've got the manual and service book for it still, you want them? Great example, spent loads on it, lots of new bits. Not sure that the fuelling problem is, had a new genuine lambda and CO potentiometer in the two years I had it, possibly injector wiring?
  14. Maybe try regriding a chamfer on the leading and trailing edges of the pad - helps with lots of seeming incurable brake squeaks
  15. Just like to say that DG autotech are superb, great service from the guys and the quality of the 312mm fitting kit I recieved today is top notch. Highly reccomended.
  16. I got mine from VW spares and new bolts from VW, came to about £100 all in
  17. Had a 1.8l 16v Corrado, then upgraded to a G60, then got an oak green 16v mk2 Golf, now I've got a Mk3 Golf VR6. I love the noise and feel of the VR but miss the Corrado in general quite alot, think there can only be one obvious next chioce!
  18. Saw that in the paper yesterday too, just said it had a modified engine (oh really - never would have guessed, lol) does anyone know anything more about the engine? Never seen that car before.
  19. Might not be down to the ISV on his car, could have a vacuum leak or something like that
  20. Thanks very much, i was going to completely take the battery out anyway to be on the safe side, Good info about the earthing. Thanks again
  21. I tried looking for these a few years ago and couldn'd find them either. I ended up buying some newer calipers of a similar size and swapped the pistons over as they were the same size
  22. Sorry can't remember exactly, but it wasn't much for good quality items, unfortunately the new eurocarparts website haven't got the bearings online yet so you'd have to ring up.
  23. I got my big ends and mains from eurocarparts. I struggled to find flywheel bolts anywhere - ended up getting them from VW.
  24. Dunno much about HID's but i'm sure it's been discussed before, have a look through the search function. O2A is the cable change gearbox used on all corrados. The O2A basicaly denotes the shape of the gearbox with a further 3 letter code denoting the ratios according to year and market, for example CBA and AYL. Not sure about a mk4 c/flow but i've heard of people using c/flows from new beetles on G60's. Have a look on VWvortex. Also The Phirm did a crossflow head on a 1H engine in a red rallye but that had a turbo, still might be useful to you though. G-werks would be best to ask about cams, or again try the search. I suppose you can fit ITB's to any engine - it's just a matter of making it all work. It would be very expensive and time consuming in terms of fabrication ect. Never heard of it being done though so you could be the first!
  25. Hi, I will be changing the gearbox and subsequently the clutch on my G60 next week. I have new gearbox oil, drive shaft strech bolts and a VR6 clutch (was significantly cheaper than the special order G60 one). Is there anything else that you can think of that i would need, like new pressure plate bolts? What about any special measures I should look out for? I have heard something about disconnecting the ECU. Any input appreciated.
