  1. Theres a connector that on mine had failed - mine was behind the bumper but I think its supposed to be behind the headlight.
  2. What I did on a budget: Usual car soap Clay bar (used weak car soap mixture as detailer/lubricant) - This makes a MASSIVE difference if you've never done it Own brand T-Cut substitute for major scratches Autoglym super resin polish all over - This stuff is really great for finishing the above and getting a good shine A couple of layers of the most expensive turtlewax (in a tin) halfords had at the time Car looks great :) Its about as good as I can get it without a proper machine polish.
  3. Bingo, thats the conclusion i came to as well. 5) OBD connectors was down to a dodgy connection. 4) Red and brown/white behind glove box still a mystery.
  4. Are these front or rear wheel drive? What engines can you swap into them easily? Very cool alternative to an original Mk1 GTI, love the 80's ness of it.
  5. For the front VR6 badge also: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=71388&hilit=+badge The one ARZ sell is a passat one, cheaper off US ebay.
  6. On some corrados theres the wires for the optional gauges (oil pressure and voltage) in place.

    What's missing ????

The ABS related relays are up behind the glovebox instead of above the fuse box on UK cars
  8. They do this so you can't put the standard bulbs in the lights as you need orange coloured bulbs. Its part of the TUV approval so you don't end up with white indicators. The orange coloured bulbs should have an offset retaining pin so need different holders (I know you can get them with normal retaining pins). To wire up your lights connect small spades to the bulb holders that came with the lights and insert the spades into the original connector. Easy peasy and no gaffer tape or bodged wiring.
  9. I think the hubs stick out further on VRs (longer wishbones), and the wheels have a larger offset to accomodate, placing the tyres in the same place.
  10. Classic story depicting the delivery of 3 Lamborghinis 1000 miles from Modena to London in 1976 at speeds of up to 185mph: http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/greatest ... urope.aspx Cracking read....
  11. They are for conencting diagnostics, e.g. VAG-COM to the OBD of the cars ECUs. However IIRC your G60s engine ECUs don't have any diagnostic function, only the ABS ECU has diagnostics in G60 cars. Since you have dropped the ABS in the transfer of stuff to the golf, the diagnostic connector will be of zero use to you.
  12. Whenever I see a thread like this I wonder - is there any benefit to this? Is the air actually any cooler than from just behind the headlight? - i see you have a temp probe hooked up - did you test the temp of the air from behind the headlight before you started? Are any benefits of colder air (if it is any colder) negated by the air having to be sucked up that winding pipe (long and not very smooth)? I heard on here that someone had a BMC CDA hooked up and tried it on the rollers with and without a "cold feed" pipe, without it made more torque and power, the pipe was acting as a restriction.
  13. Thats how i thought it worked. I'm still interested in your corse wheel btw.
  14. Not when you take it off before you sell it? I suppose if I went to see a car like a corrado, and the seller said "i used it to tow my heavy caravan every weekend" I'd probably leave it, or at least look very closely for any damage and expect a discount. But my car may well have been used in this way in the past without my knowledge. Who knows how many of our previous used cars had a towbar fitted then removed?! Most just bolt up to existing bumper mounts. That one above looks a little heath robinson, and the I doubt the spare wheel well is designed to take heavy loads like that. It would be fine I reckon for light duty eg a small boat. I suspect VW designed the bumper mounts to take a loading, due to their similarity to golfs etc that could be expected to be used as light duty tow cars. IIRC there is one out there that bolts up to the bumper mounts and goes around the bumper. On a low car this might affect ground clearance, I'd probably just get whatever I can find and get a spare bumper sprayed up.
  15. Well they are worth a fair bit in 15" as they are rare, if you ever sell advertise on the 'scene' forums e.g. edition38 as they are sought after for MK2 golfs. they look kinda like a smaller porsche design 90. They do really suit the Corrado though - i's be tempted to paint the inset bits black or dark grey (as they came new) would just set them off.
  16. Nice! Not seen a C on those wheels before. I had them in 14" on my Golf GTI - I'm assuming yours are the very rare (and sought after in the 'scene') 15" versions?
  17. Oh ok, thanks, I'll pay more attention next time :? They DO make a more industrial one - the Eezibleed Pro: http://www.gunson.co.uk/item.aspx?item=3448&cat=664
  18. How did you find sealing the Easi-Bleed cap to your brake resovoir? I did mine up, pressure tested first (no leaks) and then added fluid and got on with opening each nipple in turn. Only when I'd finished did i realise it had dribbled fluid from the where the cap screws on all over that side of the engine bay :mad2: It was screwed on pretty tight too....
  19. what size is your momo corse? I'm after one, but I already have a boss.
  20. Wheels and exhaust are terrible. Also the chrome on the dash looks a little chintzy these days (too much going on with the black and cream too), but except for that it is still an amazing motor.
  21. Yes and very good quality it is too - although I can't comment on fitment as I haven't fitted it yet
  22. i have one in the garage ready to go on, excellent quality!
  23. yeah their parent company ceased trading recently I think? Thus affecting Magnex and Peco. Although there is a rumour that someone has bought Magnex and is resuming business.
  24. The new (06 on?) corsa is actually pretty good. Much better drive and better equipped than the 3cyl fabia or grande punto. The car enthusiast's pick of non car enthusiast orientated cars if you like, and every review says how surprisingly well it drives. Its no Porsche though
  25. Yep, "normal" people don't think like us car enthusiasts  I would rather drive round in a dog of a bottom budget porsche and have to fix it every week than a brand new corsa that never goes wrong
