Make a small hole in the grommet itself to feed the wire through Hasan. ;-)

Yep did just this but left the wings in situ when i removed my vr subframe last year. Also wont do any harm to rest the engine on a few blocks too.

Good stuff. Once your access to the Members Section on the site is given simply add your name to the list in the Events List Section. You can easily remove it if you can't make it. Be good to have the stand full with the recent news so come ond people. Only a few days before we need to send passes out. Kip

Chris Gaskell (RW1) Gathering at 1pm at Stanford Hall to Honour Him
KIPVW replied to KIPVW's topic in General Car Chat
Thanks Steve, spoke with both Sarah & Chris's Sister last night and She thought it a very fitting tribute to him. I intend to print off the tributes to Chris from here & the CCGB forum and send them with a card. Sarah & I were also discussing a gathering at Stanford Hall at some point in the day to mark our respects. Wil keep you posted. Kip -

He was older than 53 by the way, I think more like 60. Still no age :-( -
It is with immense regret that I have recently learned the very sad news that our Dear Friend, Enthusiast & Honoury Member Chris Gaskell has passed away earlier this month. I'm really quite unsure of the details surrounding his death but will update if i get to know. To say Chris was an enthusiast is an absolute understatement, if there was anything he did not know about both Corrado's & Scirocco's it really wasn't worth knowing. He will indeed be sadly missed by Judith & I at events throughout the year and his continual if only to wind us both up negative comments  The membership will no doubt miss his very informative and correct information regarding literally anything Corrado related. RIP Chris. You will be Missed by All. There is a thread on the Corrado Club Forum should anyone want to leave any messages. http://www.corradoclub.org/ccgb16/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=4&id=5482&Itemid=190#5482 Please also feel free to make a donation to Chris's other passion as he was also involved with BAE Systems for many years and this would be a very fitting tribute to the great man of all things mechanical. http://www.justgiving.com/ChrisRW1Gaskell Paul

Just click on Join the club tab on the top of the menu bar. That will then give you chance to use paypal etc. Ideally everyone needs to be paid up in advance as it's a bit of a nightmare collecting on the day but it's easy to add yourself/remove yourself from the list on the link once you have signed up or indeed wanting to attend if you are already an existing member. Hi All, Stanford Hall really does need no introduction and as this year marks the 25th Anniversary of Corrado we have kindly been allocated a 50 car Special Display area to commemorate it. We have a few places spare so would be great if any members would like to sign up to membership and help fill the stand. http://www.corradoclub.org/ccgb16/index.php?option=com_illbethere&controller=events&task=view&id=53&Itemid=202 Also have some Anniversary Balloons to dress the cars up with :) Need to be added to the list by 22nd April as this will give us plenty of time to send the passes out. Thanks. Paul

I'd have 6 script badges & 6 front VR ones if they were good replicas :-)

Stick with standard rather than grooved.

Are some parts departments deliberately unhelpful?
KIPVW replied to timthetinyhorse's topic in General Car Chat
Glad you contacted VW. Infuriates me service like that. If they worked for a small company they'd be bending over backwards but as they think the company is so big they, are, safe to toss it off as they think their business will never ber affected. Lazy Gits. My local TPS is exceptional and the chap I deal with even pays for anything that comes from vw heritage on his own credit card and I pay him the cash when he delivers it to my work address lol he's a legend alright :-) -
it it definitely bonded in as per your front windscreen. I had a new rear screen last year and watched them cut it out and then fit the new rear screen I had ordered as the one they removed was scratched.

Feeling a spoonfedesque ban coming :/

He he loving the state of the floor while this is going on. Makes me feel not so guilty to have a conservatory full of corrado parts :-)

Events 2013 Corrado Club, get your name down
KIPVW replied to Tempest's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Are you hoping to attend Stanford Hall too Ben? I Will have the passes to give out tomorrow too so if you aren't already on the list add yourself to it ;) http://www.corradoclub.org/ccgb16/index.php?option=com_illbethere&controller=events&task=view&id=53&Itemid=202 ;) -
Chris, yes definitely remove any paint where the stub axle sits as once everything is back on and settled down you would probably need to re-check the 4 stub bolts after they have compressed the paint if you leave it on. Where as if you remove the paint you wont have to do that & a smear of copper slip on the 2 mating surfaces will help keep rust at bay too ;)
