  1. Lol just having the same issue with the VR Joby, had to leave it with them to sort it and they thought it ought to have an eccentric bolt in one of the damper holes, i said nope both the same top & bottom and just a pain in the ass to get right. I did also mention the thinner bolt. Hope they manage it :/
  2. As Goldie says, remove the rear rooflining trim to get to the 22mm nut holding the ariel in place and away you go. The worst bit is removing the trim as there will be a big blob of silicon sealant right in the middle to hold it in place so dont just try and yank off the trim, get a small craft knife and try to stab/cut into the sealant then once it's chopped up the trim clips will just pull straight out directly away from the body of the car, the same kinda clips you get on the A pillars etc.
  3. Yep some heat will sort it.
  4. Man up ya soft git :-) you'll only regret it and want another so hang into it. You know I'm right deep down.
  5. Thanks chris, can the resistors be repaird? Cost £30 and only lasted 10 mins :-( can do without that. Looks like nothings fouling the fan too. Will try and check for a chaffed wire.
  6. I also read the switch panel can go faulty but not sure on this one, there seems to be a lot for sale on ebay so it could well be a problem. Will get her a new filter and see what happens
  7. Indeed Goldie, i'd have it at that price if i was after one. As Baz says it'll have some form of warranty but probably only 3 months.....
  8. Hi All, my sisters MK5 golf keeps blowing the resistor packs and i have just changed the fan and another resistor for genuine vw ones but within 10 mins it had gone again :( Can anyone suggest what to look at next? I've read some posts on various sites suggesting a blocked pollen filter. could this be the cause? Hope someone can shed some light on it as my sis isn't too well and would like to help her out as this is another issue to the ones she already has :( Thanks all.
  9. Yeah good steady progress James, keep out going youth ;-)
  10. Whoopee not long to go now, getting the alignment on the VR done this weds so hope all goes well aftetley the recent work I've done. Anyone else going?
  11. Have thought recently about it all, especially my VR as i feel it's caused me to miss what i really wanted to do in my other life (cycling) I could have done so many trips abroad riding the mountains of Europe several times over with what i've spent on it. now it's pretty much as i want it to be i feel i'm a bit too old to pursue these thoughts but a big part of me also appreciates what i have too. :) I feel more nervous driving the Nugget as much as anything and it's amazing how many near misses i seem to have with folk opening doors, pulling out of junctions etc i'm on constant vigil with it and it annoys me a bit to be honest but feel i've gone too far into that to give up on it now and sell it on. :) So guess i wont be leaving here soon either. Sorry lol!
  12. I'll pass thanks ebby as i have two already that are painted and was after the chrome finish one.
  13. £15 for the mint badge? looks like it has been painted though as i cant see a black outline around the edges so can you confirm that is the case or not please? Thanks
  14. Hi chaps, Well thought I'd try easiest options first so checked the fuses and replaced the headlight ones anyway then wd'd the connector block and with a good bit of wiggling it came back on sd of guess the contacts were slightly oxidised. All good for now. Thanks all ;-)
  15. Tried a brand new switch and liberal WD40 but still same, thinking more like a wiring issue so will look around the loom to see oif it's damaged anywhere, Bugger! Last thing i wanted to be faffing about with on my day off tomorrow, ride first though hopefully :)
  16. No loom on it chaps although i have a DG one to fit at some point. Switch Hmmm may look into that one first then as it wouldn't surprise me with the age of it. Would a dodgy swith allow the other to come on though?
  17. Welcome back Ron :) That was some layoff lol!
  18. Only have one working headlight at the moment so tried a new bulb and still no joy, so thought i'd try a spare headlight to check the unit was ok but it was still not working so am guessing it could be a wiring issue. Any ideas anyone before i start delving in lol!
  19. Hi all, Bit of a thread resurection but i'd really like to change the date and time on this camera i have, it's the yellow date/time version. I really dont understand what a txt tag file is or how to even get to that state can anyone help please? promise to return the favor with a good video of me looking terrible tomorrow after the race lol :) Kip
  20. Wowsers! you're brave lol! good work there though but that'd terrify me.
  21. Often easier to use photobucket mate and just hover over the image you want then copy the IME code(or whatever it is) then paste it to your post :)
  22. That's the going rate for these though to be fair, just wish I had a few new ones spare
  23. Chris, my calipers are new but we used this on Jude's to very good effect, I'm only selling as i didn't realise we have 2 sets already in the garage  Some pics here on page 5 & 6 http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?35322-Butterflys-thread-I-worked-out-how-to-change-it-again/page5&highlight=butterfly

Depends weather you want VAG or not, if not then carparts 4 less instead of euro car parts as they are a fair bit cheaper. did mine on the vr recently and wasn't a bad job at all not sure if it'll be easier on the valver but i'm guessing so, although tackled it over a few days as i have a daily too.
  25. Thats good work on the beam Chris, it'll be like silky smooth that will :)
