I have one, you remover the bumper and it sits on the bumper irons and bolt up with the bumper as one unit, very secure and no need to chop the bumper. It also has light board fittings attached but will need to be wired up to your rear light cluster. Looking for 85 posted or 70 collected
  6. Funny but on a recent trip with my boss and another work colleague we went to one of our shops brands HQ up in Cramlington, my boss accidentally made a note of the post code but alas they had moved to a different unit less than a mile away 12 months previously. An Audi sat nav & both their i phones were pretty usless so i get my S2 out and say Take me to Scott Sports Cramlington. Booom it was on my screen in less than 2 seconds & my boss & colleague were stunned at how good it worked while they were faffing about with theirs. Guess it has a quicker processor or something?? Jim will be aware of my pathetic understanding of technology  but i thought i'd just share my little experience :) I like my S2 I do.
  7. Indeed, that isn't bad for what is essentially a pretty crap job, removing the shaft from the hub is a nightmare in itself sometimes. Not bad value if you ask me.
  8. Yep gotta love a MK2, looks lovely Tom. :)
  9. Na silver bike's look ****e, nice ride that Gareth :)
  10. Thanks chaps, yeah the mot mean loves it and always picks up the big screw driver to have a poke round for rust spots lol joking of course. I have to say I was terrified of the whole task involved but in reality I needn't have worried, there were some real ball aches yes but the knowledge I gained from tackling it was priceless. I actually enjoyed it all looking back even the challenging jobs. Get the tools out and crack on is my advise as if I can do it anyone can. :-)
  11. Agree with playing safe and leaving be, a bit of an arse should you ever want to refit the wiper once it's been filled in.
  12. Dot 4, get it from anywhere really, i like proper vw stuff but i like it that way. There's probably no difference to halfords own brand, especially if you have a trade card for them :) Get a couple of litres at least as you dont have to worry too much about running a good measure through the bleed nipples.
  13. I'll give you bloody drop  it's the way I roll Literally lol! yeah very pleased with it and what i achieved myself as i was pretty terrified about it all, especially doing it only a few inches off the ground in my garage. Don't wanna be doing that again in a hurry.
  14. Well as i had no power steering to get to and from Harewood plus an ABS light blinking at me the last few days have been spent changing the power steering pump for a new one and hey presto it works again :) Also fitted a new rear sensor after Crazy Dave located that to be the problem, and all is back as it should be now, just gotta get the alignment checked now and hopefully that'll be it for a very long time. (touches wood)

  18. Good result on the trophy Steve, 1st of many i'm sure :)
  19. I spent quite some time reading about suspension and talking to my petrol head friend as there was no internet as such back in the late 90's and i decided on koni Ta's with the standard springs to retain the look i wanted IE Standard :) ultimately i wanted to fit eibach roll bars too which i was told would help immensely but not really suitable for concours so couldn't really go there. Would have loved to have tried that combo though. Gone back completely to standard now even with VW dampers and it feels pretty good to be honest, it'll never be any use on a track but on country roads it feels superb and reasuring :)
