  1. I thought the roof strips were obsolete?
  2. Me neither... he'll either be great or just tarnish the fact that he left pretty much at the sharp end. Hope that I'm not deploying this smilie by March: :epicfail: Yeah, well you finish on a real high, but can mess it all up by trying to make a come back and FAILING!!!!!!
  3. Nice! :D Bet your well please with it! Is the air filter a cone filter? If so get rid of it and either go for a BMC CDA or a Standard Airbox. :D Good choice on the KWs but if you're only after a 30mm drop, maybe best (cheaper) to go for some shocks and springs, H&R springs with koni shocks are a known good setup. The roof strips are very saught after, so you'll have to keep your eyes peeled on the breaking and for sale threads. Not too sure on the exhaust, Have you looked underneath on the back box, maybe a name on it? AND Welcome to the forum!!! :D
  4. thats 2 cars a year on average! HA!
  5. Thats outrageous  How old are you OSV?
  6. Yup good stuff. Not sure about Shumi coming back though... will be good to see. Role on March.
  7. Unfair, some of you have an advantage of age  old g!ts. i've had not many, infact ive had more Corrados more then anything else. 2000 1, H reg Rover metro - rotting from the inside out, was my first car when id just passed my test at 17/18years old.... dont ask what went through my head. The most expensive thing about it was the stereo  2001 2, T reg pug 106 - not a bad little car, cheap insurance. But part ex'd to get >>>> 2005 3, M reg Corrado 2.0 8v Flash red - loved my first rado, was in excellent condition, just a shame it was written off. Though it was bought at auction apparently. So if anyone knows where M639 FNL went, get in touch! :D 2005 4, J reg Corrado G60 - mechanically sounded, needed alot of TLC on body work. finally 2006 5, K reg Corrado VR bordeaux - loving it! even if i have spent lots of money on it. Its all comes with the ownership :D
  8. That's a good point. Look how thick the MK2's B pillar is compared the Corrado's. I think a pop out window on the C would compromise bodyshell rigidity imo. Aye, you'd be surprised mate! Ever driven a Corrado with a new windscreen where the glue hasn't hardened fully? You can feel the car flexing a bit. Not as bad as an Escort Cabriolet scuttle shake-tastic kind of way, but definitely floppier than usual.....like Walsey's c0ck after a night on the tequila.... You learn something new everyday. Didnt realise glass would have such an effect.
  9. Good man! I hope there's a restoration thread for that.... would love to see it being brought back to life :D I cant believe it got pushed into the lake just because its gearbox broke... silly fool!
  10. Really, i wouldnt have thought glass would be that much benefit towards strength? only one way to find out... you get the hammer and ill smash the windows in. Then we can roll it over and if the roof bends then we know its essential [/quote:2xejsnf1] after you my friend....

  12. Ah yes the stabaliser - just had that replaced and doesnt seem to have made much of a difference. Which leads me onto investigating the float or sender in the tank?
  13. Shiny shiny :D prefer the first wheels over the borbet tbh. Nice either way. What was the scare with the spacers and wheel bolts?
  14. Obviously something thats going to get worse over time, like rust, needs sorting out asap if you can. How much was the engine?
  15. Cheers for the response David. Got a pic of the Voltage regulator? PCB?
  16. Yeah looks like a Yaris. Hopefully one day he'll forget to raise it at the next speedbump  but tbf, ive seen ALOT worse.
  17. Hi all, Right leading off the WTD thread i started. I've been having fuel gauge reading issues and also water temp issues, I was thinking that it maybe the gauge. But after a bit of thinking im going to start looking else where. Firstly the water temp issue. The needle on the water temp gauge never sits bang in the middle. It will take a while to move at all and when it does it will only go up to 70 even when the car has been running for miles. It will very rarely, if ever go over 70 degrees and when it does it wont go much over. Today i driving as normal and it went to its usual place of 70, i then got stuck in traffic and it went up to about 80 but no higher. It then dropped back to 70 once i got moving again. Now the oil temps are normal. I also plugged vagcom in and the temp read 96 degrees, the gauge was reading 70. Could it be one of the sensors on the front of the engine, seen as the ECU seems to be reading fine but the gauge is off? Which sensor is which, is the blue temp sender for the ECU and the yellow for the gauges and fans, or the other way round? Ok fuel problem. The gauge doesnt seem to have been right for ages. BUt tonight confirmed something was wrong as it was the first time in a while i'd filled the car right to the top . I filled the car until the nozzle clicked, which was 52.7 litres. Now i know the tank can hold 15 gallons, so that equates to 11.6 gallons. The needle also doesnt go right to the top but sits one line down from the max. So the tank looks like its short 1 gallon. Could this be the float in the tank, the sender or something else? Sorry to go on a bit but i dont like to be vague in my threads. Any help is much appreciate. Gaz
  18. Not had to do that myself, the USB type works fine.Though it will only work in COM port 3 none of the other 3. When I was running it with Windows 2000, it worked like that, I upgraded to XP, and could only get it working like that. Weird. Ho hum, works ok anyway. Yeah it is weird. The cable is also temperamental, doesnt always work first time.

  20. People who say things like that about Corrados, know nothing about them. I've got a mate at work who likes to take the pi55 out of my car, saying its a banger and laughs that its 15 years old. He knows nothing about the car. Oh and this is from a bloke that drives a bright green Fester. :pukeright:  Ye I think she was just winding me up cos so many people were raving about it- but why do people feel the need to comment if they don't have a clue? I'm always quite proud of the fact that my car IS 18 years old and still on the road (and faster than most things you can pick up for under £2k, old or new) But hey, I guess if everyone new about and loved Rados they'd be a status symbol for tw*ts instead of a cult classic! :D Very true mate. I do always say to the bloke when he comments - i cant wait to see what your car will be like in 15 years time. I can already guess it'll be sat rusting MORE in a scrappers lol
