I prefer the VR over the G60, BUT... i'd get which one was in the best nick for the cash i had to spend. As said just go view and have a drive. See which you prefer. You may prefer one over the other but then not be able to find one in a decent enough condition. If that makes sense.

To keep or not to keep..................?

Ok... it turns out it is blowing ever so slightly at the flange that meets the cat. So im going to get it back on the ramps to seperate and refit. As theres only a slight gap the blowing isnt loud, and sounds worse when the car is jacked up - almost like the sound is being masked when the car is on the ground idling. Not looking forward to having to get back under the car :( -
Anyone got a detailed pic of the oil filter housing (VR6)

Hi all, Ive just had a new stabiliser chip fitted to the instrument panel of my VR - its the black chip that sits top right of the circuit board near the rev counter. I noticed on the way back from the garage that the spoiler now goes up at 55mph not 45 and goes down at 20 mph not 10mph. So i hooked vagcom up and it appears the speedo is reading 10mph higher then im actually travelling. Now, i can only thing its the chip thats caused this. But i cant see how a chip for the fuel gauge would affect the speedo. The rev counter appears ok, not sure about the temp gauge. What could have been disturbed to cause this, or how would the stabiliser cause this??? At least its reading over and not under...but would want this fixed really. EDIT - could it have something to do with how the needle was put back on?

You've got to be joking! Damaged in transit? The guys trying to get his money back and pull a fast one! Andrew took a hacksaw to a wheel liner just for the picture, come on! For £23! I don't think so! Someone's bloody telling porkies! Just refund him. I agree, as i said in my previous post. Andrew isnt making any sort of advantage, financial or otherwise to falsely claim these were received as the pic shows. Come on guys get this sorted.
-
I cant see why he'd buy arch liners from you, then either buy some more to hack or hack yours. Just to have to pay to send them back to get a refund. He'd be back where he started before he even bought them - so no gain for him to hack them himself and claim thats what he was sent. just my 2p Hope the situation gets sorted.

Anyone got a pictur of how the KW's are installed?
Critical_Mass replied to Mawrick's topic in Drivetrain
The nut that is above the bearing? just over finger tight. -
That will be steam you see not smoke. All cars do that when cold, but should clear up once the engine is up to temp.

So the reading in vagcom the 02 reading is voltage? The thing is the reading doesnt jump from the lower end of the range to the higher end it will go 0.98 0.99 1.00 1.01 1.02 etc all the way up to 1.07 and then back down to 0.98. Even if the lambda is ok and the manifold flange isnt blowing, theres still the 'sucking' noise to put up with  Im kind of hoping the flange is the cause of the noise. -
Right, I had a raceland 6 branch fitted and although it didnt give any power gains (wasnt expecting that anyway) it did seem to slightly improve throttle response, which i was happy with. BUT when i first fitted it, it had a 'sucking' noise when giving the car revs - even more so when engine is under load. I was informed that this is simply the exhaust gases going through the tubular steel (makes sense) and it would stop when the carbon builds up in the tubes. But it hasnt stopped at all. Even when the manifold is wrapped the 'sucking' noise is still there  Now, ive just fitted a Milltek sport cat and now the 'sucking' noise is even worse. I hooked the car up to vagcom and the O2 reading is fluctuating from 0.99 - 1.07, but no lambda fault codes, which im told is the lambda trying to adjust constantly and implies theres a leak before the lambda. The car went into the garage tonight to get CV joint front discs/pads etc fitted and have asked my mechanic to make sure the flexi joint etc are on tight enough, so will see how it is when i get it back. To be honest its annoying me as it sounds awful, almost like the exhaust is blowing. So im considering just going back to the standard manifold and before i had the noise. Can anyone advise me otherwise or what i can do to get rid of this noise or whether im right to go back to the standard manifold? HELP!?? PS - sorry to drag the above on a bit

Yeah it just had no grip in the wet and the front brakes were waaaaay too sharp, which unsettled the rear. The tyres were way too wide for it's weight and power, so just skimmed across the wet tarmac like a pond skater. As the lanky, frilly topped one said, at least it looked the part if nothing else  I think the Fig did a remarkable job controlling that thing and both of the recoveries were pure genius imo :D Yes, great recoveries! Would like to see it do a lap in the dry :D -

Yeah, TG is starting to get back to standards. Loved the Stratos, was suprised to see that Sting struggled to control it - set up maybe? -
Indeed mate. Before i got mine, i was unsure if they were as good as people had said. Im in agreement, they are exceptional!
-
Yeah definately let me know!

Thinking about it, my VW specialist has used it on my corrado before, so infact there's not a problem.

I had a go in Fay's car today. At first I was a little bit worried that they would be too hard. They felt harder than my Koni/Pi setup, but on the move they are really supple, the damping is spot on, and I was attacking corners even faster than I would have in my own car. I think I might be buying some at some point. :) You must Tom, i cant praise them enough. They are hardER, but like you say the damping on them is brilliant! Go on lad!!! :D

Been tempted by one of these myself before. Its exactly the same as my friendly VW specialist uses. Seems Cheap at 70 quid! I say "yes"! Let me know how you get on, i may get one too  I do notice that on the pics there's no corrado listed, theres a mk3 golf but no corrado
