Got to say if i didnt have the Corrado, id have some sort of an estate car - Something i to get out of my system at some point.
-
Great. Thanks.
-
Nice. Is this going to be available in the foreseeable future Dave?

I agree with emu and swiftkid, either buy new wheels or get arch work done. But as swift said thats some serious arch work to get them to sit under the arch. Would be cheaper to buy new wheels. Can you send them back and swap for a different ET - assuming theyre new and do a higher ET.
-
They v nice wheels mate. Looking forward to seeing them on the car! :D

Cheers RW1 managed to get one today + a spare -just in case. You are indeed correct they are round and fatter than the ones i tried from DIY shop. THough im sure the one i took off was flat... never mind. Got it sorted now i think. The temp gauge is working and the fans arent as yet coming on every time i turn the ignition off. THough when i went for a spin the gauge only went up to 70, but a longer run will be the proof in the pudding.

Cheers RW1. They are flat though arent they? ie they'll sit flat against the sensor as opposed to domed (if that makes sense). Hmmm im doubting that'll sort the problem then. Sorry whats that part no. RW1- cant find it in etka.

Well, i thought things would be sorted today. Got a new sensor yesterday, the correct one (black with blue ring), it didnt come with a O ring... not a problem can use the one that came with the brown sensor. Today i took the brown sensor out and there was no O ring on it, so i thought it was still in the hole and had come off the sensor when i took it out. Put the new sensor in a started the car, no leaks. Took it for a drive and temp gauge works no fan coming on when i turn the ignition off. So i thought great! Headed home, then temp light started flashing so i thought the original problem had come back. Got home and popped bonnet to find the water level had gone down and water was leaking from the sensor. Took sensor out and had a feel for the O ring in the hole... no O ring.. hmmmmmmm it definately didnt drop out when i took sensor out as id have noticed... wasnt on floor nor in the engine bay - the brown sensor didnt leak. Odd! Went and bought some O rings from a well known DIY shop... though they are round in profile not flat, but thought id give them a go as i need the car for work ideally. But nope they wouldnt seal either. They're find until i start the car and the pressure goes up. So now a simple O ring is stopping me from using the car and theres the mystery of the missing O ring. Are the O rings available with out the sensor?

Willing to budge on the bourne boxset Steve? can get it brand new from amazon for £15. -
OK, well i'll get it changed this weekend and see how it goes :) Hope it sorts it as the bearings on the fan are starting to wear as its on every time engine goes off.
-
OUCH! Could he simply get a new roof for that?
-
My fans doesnt run constantly. It will come on when the engine is switched off guaranteed, regardless if the engine is hot or cold. But it does go off after 2-3 mins. Sometimes though it will come on for a couple of seconds then off for a second and then back on - its irratic. Still the black box?
-
What do you think? Sounds a bit dodgy to me!!!!!

lol i stopped after the first sentence, who buys a car without seeing it - well one that isnt £100. Definate scam mate. -
Ah so that could well be the problem. Is the Golf VR one the same? id imagine it is.
-
Saw a pic of this the other day. Didnt realise it was the new Celica. Not a bad looking car - though to be critical, i hate the lexus style lights on the back. All red rears would have been better. Looks a nice car though!
-
Cheers Jim, yes i seem to remember that box has something to do with the fans, has fuses in it also doesnt it? (metal strips). I take it the rad switch goes back to the this box?
-
Sorry to continue this guys. Still need some advise. The fans are still coming on each time the ignition is off, based on that ive removed the old sensor on the front of the block and replaced it wtih a new one, albeit incorrect one - this sensor cant be the fault with the fans coming on every time ignition is off. So am i correct in thinking it will be the rad switch in the radiator?
-
I got one of them in 2008. Had no complaints about it at all. Doesnt use a drop of oil, not even the stated amount in the original manual.
-
I agree, looks ok. Just upside down for some reason. It maybe wise to just replace the elbow along with seal (comes with elbow). Also change the fan switch whilst youre at it along with its seal. I didnt do mine when i changed Rad and wish i had - its a bugger to get to whilst the rad is on the car.

 ^

Well today, it was found that the sensor is the wrong one. Correct one ordered. It should sort the problem. But if it doesnt i hope its not the clocks, i swapped the temp/fuel gauge only a couple of years ago as the previous one was duff too. But im sure the new sensor will will sort

Looking good mate. :D
