Not really its her car not mine Gav

I really really miss owning a rado. The story so far.... No.1- Bought an aqua blue g60 about 5yrs ago with a blown engine, rebuilt it and sold it on. liked it but had a UR quattro at the time so didnt really drive it that much. No.2- Bought a Red vr year before last as i thought i was going to have to sell my s2 and the vr came up pretty cheap. Body was imaculate and had black leather and aircon. A few of you will remember this from e38 two years ago as some of you helped me swap the black leather for beige leather on the sunday. Loved it to bits but looked like i was going to manage to keep the s2 after all, sold that to a forum member. Ended up selling the s2 after all so was on the look out for another rado. No.3- Bought a blackberry vr from Big pants baby in bristol, needed a bit of work but the price reflected that, this was short lived as my other half has a blackberry vr and it turned out to be a bit twee. Ended up breaking the this one and putting the vr into a helios blue mk2 golf. N0.4- Swapped my old Honda fire blade with a guy off e38 in bristol, dragon green and drove very very well, had coilies and some nice rims and a few other bits. Sold this after a couple of mths as i couldnt justify the mk2 and the rado. N0.5- Although the mk2 was great fun it wasnt practical on a 130mile daily commute. we went upto blackpool and boiught a burgundy pearl vr and i fell in love with it, fitted some of the bits and peices id put aside. Another cream leather interior, konigsports, some deep...deep rimmage and a few other bits and bobs. After a few mths, turned out we were going to have to move and having two pooches needed something a bit more practical. So sold the vr to a guy from no-rice, (this has since changed hands and is now owned by another forum member--yay!) Ended up buying the green one back, breaking it for spares and putting the running gear into a mk3 estate we'd bought as a pooch carrier. Its cracking fun and great for the pooches and trawling bike and car crap around, but i do really miss not having a rado, especially after stonor last weekend. Cracking show and some stunning rado's on show. I will have another and hopefully keep it, what is it about thses bloody cars that makes you come back for more? Sorry for boring you with this pointless rant Peace out Gav

PM rc-stoney or clavicula, rc bought a set from him earlier this year. Gav
-
got a couple of mini rims here if you want to try and see what work will be needed Gav
-
to be honest im more interested in getting some quality pics of the goof by a professional photograher than having it featured, especially for what the goof is
-
hmmm....theyve asked to do a feature on the goof. Seems pretty persistent. Undecided if i want it in there to be honest Gav

anybody actually read any of the last few issues?
-
thats kind of my point, i know what it used to be like but had heard since the editor (?) had changed theyd had a bit of a rethink in the last few issues aiming at the less chavvy end of the spectrum and going for an much more upmarket feel Gav
-
has anyone read any of the latest magazines? is it still a chav porn mag loosely disguised as car mag a with some gash motors in that look like theyve ram raided Halfords with a bottle of pritt stick? Cheers Gav

signed up the other week , but as yet not found anyone i went to school with or was in the raf with, how sad is that.

Good work! the loom looks a bit of amre though. keep us posted Gav

hmmm....id be inclined to say no. But dont take that as gospel. The mk2, mk3 and rado all share the same supsension but im pretty sure the vento is different from the rear. Might be worth popping onto the vr6 owners club and asking Gav

he also did m15vw's charged vr, top bloke cant recommend him enough. He two audi s2's and a mk1 valver i had, never been disapointed. Top bloke, but as said very busy this time of year. Gav

aye this is the justification for selling my c and buying a hearse. Carry all our car and bike crap around in and the pooches

The last line is incorrect yes, we.ve bought numerous sets of Brand new boxed 5x100 As and dont think any of them have been re-drilled. M15VW has had a set on her charged vr for the past two years and no issues. Theyll be perfectly fine. They were available up until summer last year diect from borbet, I ordered one from them last year but they couldnt uphold the order in the end due to a tooling error.ill see if i can find the email i received from them last year. Gav
-
not totally correct. The 5x100 A was never officially sold in the uk as the hub face wasnt thick enough for uk approvel. However it did achieve aproval in eurpoe and was available imorted into the uk. They stopped production of the 5x100 A last year due to lack of orders. This info came from Borbet last summer. HTH We've got a 7.5" 5x100 A for sale if youre looking for one? Gav

Has anyone got a how to guide on replacing the valve stem oil seals on VR6? Also need a list of tools needed if possible. Ive heard there is a tool to allow this to be done on the head, (air line pressurises the system keeping the valve up) also heard the one about feeding a bit of rope in the psark plug hole, till it hits the valve, rocking till tdc then the rope sits under the valve keeping it open. Other than the long nose valve pliers what else do i need to replace the seals? Got everything else to get the head off etc. Thanks in advance Gav

proper refubrishment, not just replacing with new parts off the shelf truly amazing
