  3. nothing will happen,it wont get sucked up if thats what you are on about, might make the odd noise but that it! :)
  4. They just knock out and back in,best result is to use a old valve and weld a thick washer onto the them and use it as a punch to knock the new guides is,this method wont need to have them reamed out as they are a perfect fit for the guides(obviously) before fitting in the new guides measure the hight of the guide before you take them out (if they dont have a sleeve to sit against the head) and put the guides in the freezer over night, this will help.
  5. make sure the selector goes all the way to the stop and not held back by incorrectly adjusted cables mate, other than that its worn slow speed/sycro hub. :(
  6. No its easy to do in the bay, just time consuming.
  7. 2nd picture down, last cylinder has been burning coolant mostly as the carbon deposits on the piston head edges steamed off from the coolant leaking in,coupled with heat this steams it off and there are more signs of this but not as much on other pistons, but you should have both heads skimmed and pressure tested to confirm that the are ok. clean the surfaces with fine wet and dry sandpaper, around 1200 grit with plenty of lube, water or wd40,there is specific tools out there that can clean this without the hard work but sandpaper is the cheapest, make sure its spotless and the headbolt head holes have no fluids left in them, blow them out with a air line and use brake cleaner to clean the surfaces spotlessly before reassembly
  8. Yup its terrible! 91 is there best and the cheap stuff is 87  add that with high altitude of the rockys and you get one limp risted car!
  9. i miss read that, but yea oily injector will most likely be spilt oil,the only way you get oil on the nozzle is via the intake or in the fuel, but that would happen to all of them and not just one, also would hardly run,i think you are reading to much into the injector its probably nothing and as you said probably timing/air leak issue.
  10. is there oil running down the plug hole when you removed it,have you cleaned it up and retried it? do you have spark there? duff plug, lead or pack?
  11. yea what do your neighbours think of it  does look like a well kept example 8)
  12. never seen that before its a odd ball for sure! kind of has a saab look to the front end....wierd!
  13. another one?? how big is your fleet now?
  14. ah thanks, every time i walked past one of them i do a double take...its ugly....really ugly  ,cant find a pic of rear end,it looks odder than the front,i suppose its the same as the mk3 cabriolet with the mk4 front end.....just spare parts and a gap in the market to full
  15. Been touring the rockys in Canada for a few weeks and noticed this style of golf, its a mk4 with mk5 front and rear end, truly a odd ball.....did we ever get these in the UK....and why?? they have a mk4 and mk5 golf over there anyway, why the need to make a odd ball :cuckoo:
  16. hence i went for wilwood calipers,so much thinner and work brill!
  17. It should be direct from ecu that trigger wir,e i doubt an alarm fitter would have picked that wire to disarm the ca,r more likely he would have just picked a random ignition wire under the cowls, have you just tried to earth that trigger wire to see if the car runs? as ive seen theses feeds dead before as allot of folk try to send a 12v feed down the line and pops a little diode in the ecu,so ive just used a toggle switch to activate the relay, only down side is when your on your roof in a ditch and the engine stalls but still is spraying you with fuel......you get the idea  Ive sent you a PM regarding sending you the OBD2 wiring diagram
  18. yea they will fire and then die if the immobiliser is active and yes you just have to pull the relay out and check the feeds, thin small terminal should go to ground when you switch the ignition on(ecu trigger),then one earth and one battery live, the last terminal is the feed to injectors, coilpack etc. you could just breech these tow across and see if it fires?
