VR6 Mocal cooler boys - show us your temps!
CorradoVR6-Turbo replied to Kevin Bacon's topic in Engine Bay
i used to cover 3/4's the cooler with plastic lid that i robed from my lunch box, cable tied it on and it really improved the temps as well as warm up time. -
this will never happen.....hid's probably as most project a piss poor pattern when i test them, the rest i just cant see how you would enforce them, also when it comes to chipped/mapped ecu's as long as it passes the emissions test whats the problem?

i replaced some headlights on a 07 bmw x5....sounds simple? um not both front doors off, sill covers, front lower section, arches, front wheels, ineer arches, then lots of nuts and bolts to remove both front wings as the headlights are screwed to the rear of the wings!!!!!! simple job....um no way!

my mapped s3 runs all over my mates 4 mo, so they will have more poke out the box and i prefere the looks of the s3 compared to the golf.....have a go in both if you can? as for running costs, compared to the raddo.....its cheap lol

just vent the throttle return to atmosphere, but be warned the oil vapours lubricate the scrolls in the charger, sure a g60 lad will keep me right

Yea got to drive on a few stages but had to wait sometime for the stage to be fully clear, police will let you do what you feel like and drive like a loon, but a vw tiguan fully loaded was not that fun

Well after watching wrc on the telly for a few years me and some mates decided to go to Salou in Spain for this years round, being a newb to this sort of thing is was overwhelmed by the hard core fans who travel from all over the world and go to all the stages and that alone is truly bonkers! But being up close to the drivers, pits and cars was great so here are some very few pics.....

what are the compression test results in bars for 2.0 16v

10-13 bar (autodata) -
yea the intake hose has the air bleed for the idle valve on the obd1 so this is not needed, black the hole in the pipe...job done! You will have all the components for the immobilizer, but if there is a problem it will fire them die, best before you go for a start, cycle the ignition and check for fault codes, this will be a good means to fix faults before they happen. Also i have a late OBD2 wiring diagrame on pdf,if you want i can send this to you via email,pm me if you want it. Cheers

You need the engine loom and the bay loom to fuse board. Blank the pipe,OBD2 has a motorized throttle body that controls the idle. You also can have the immoblizer removed for around 50 quid via steath or C2 ect for ease of fittment. All the sensors on the engine are the same as the coil pack -late VR6,bar the maf and throttle body which you have. Remove the servo ect to gain accsess to the loom and to pull it out,lie them on the ground together but you will need to remove all the headlight lighting etc from the OBD2 loom, and you might incounter a problem with wipers and aux water pump not working so check the loom before fitting. links http://www.a2resource.com/electrical/CE2.html http://www.corrado-club.ca/forum/viewto ... sc&start=0 http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... conversion http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?3914622

CorradoVR6-Turbo replied to Ghillie989's topic in Engine Bay
yea the main water pump, the aux pump is to provide flow when the car is swotched off to provide flow and eliminate hot spots but over my time with them they have done nothing when the coolant sytem is pressurised and they are mounted to far up and are against gravity hence why all the newer stuff have them mounted low down in the bay.......good idea poorly placed. -

they wont boil if the cap is off while warming up,its possibly boiling due to the lack of flow and they wont show massive flow back to hrader tank but im suspecting your water pump, they are not bad to do,so would go for that first mate. -

the aux pump does fu*k all imop,ok so the pipes are getting hot but does it flow well back into the header tank? -
they are old cars and if its had paint that would be expected but to notice its had paint work is a sure sign of poor work, maybe up your budget or keep looking. Having paint work done is going to cost you and trying to match old and new paint is never going to work and your probably going to end off having a full shoot......£££

are the pipes running into the bulkhead hot? the aux pump has nothing to do with the circulation while running, whats your cooling system like? does it flow ie is the water pump working or is the impella just siting still as they often do this as the original units are made from a sort of plastic. -
