First i have a Clifford Concept 300. Since satuday when locking i get 2 beeps then 5 seconds later 4 beeps, i consulted the manual and it said this meant a door was ajar when arming. Tried all the doors, boot, bonnet etc... and the only on i can leave open and still arm it is the drivers door, and i can open it if armed without it going off, all others set off alarm, any idea what it could be? I have also noticed that the cabin lights no longer work, could this be related? and my clocks keep resetting whenever i start the car, any ideas?

Roughly how many miles should i get to half a tank in my VR?
Dub_nut_g60 replied to -Neil-'s topic in General Car Chat
Sounds like the VR boys can hit mid 30's MPG doing 70-80! i can only dream of that at those speeds!! i have to sit at 60 to hit 35!! Think i might sell up for a VR! -

i have managed 500 miles from a tank honest! it was a case of doin 60mph on the motorway for several hours. a £60 fill will just about do a weeks commuting (43 miles each way) my tank is 15 gallons btw. Trig - didnt realise the MFA was so innaccurate, havent really bothered to work out the figures myself, will have to check! but think its about right Andy - 22.8 average mpg, blimey!! is that just due to your setup, or is it because you arent able to drive at 'economical' speeds on the island? -

i can get about 500 from a full tank averaging 33.2 MPG Your driving will affect the 'miles from a tank' figure, lowest i had mine was 230 from 15 gallons. -
mtc R32 You need to make sure you have disconnected the Dim Dip resistor (yellow thing attached to wing infront of battery) As i was told on my driving lessons (instrctor was an ex traffic cop) that you shouldnt really drive on side lights, if your going to have lights on it should really be dipped main beams. im not even going to comment about driving with fogs on when its not foggy tw@t. I have the same problem that i keep melting fuse holders, am using 20amp fuses, would using higher rated ones mean more or less heat??

easypops i dont think its actually as bad as it looks/sounds!! I thought it sounded complicated but after reading it a couple of times and drawing a little picture it all makes complete sense!! Basically its: 1. disconnect battery 2. find wires for door open switch 3. splice in length of wire to thin brown/white wire and attach to black wire on buzzer 4. take out headlight switch 5. splice another length of wire into red/grey wire and attach to red wire on buzzer 6. open door, switch on lights and hear buzz 7. put car back together 8. never worry about leaving lights on again! Ive attached a diagram which might (or might not help!!) help. Colors wont e accurate but hopefully you will get the gist! Looks easier than making an uprated headlight loom, and if i can do that anyone can!! EDIT - pic looked better when i drew it!!

I'm not THAT much of a liability, everything i did was carefully planned  Most of it burnt off on the trip up and back and what didnt was cleaned off. Only reason i asked is because my supercharger/altenator belt snapped the the other day and it seems to be a bit more spritely.

a slight delay in asking this question really, but only thought about it this morning!! At the Stealth Rolling Road day my car made the figures in my signature, and im more than happy with them. As most people know my engine was absolutly covewred in oil at the time, question is, is it likely that a fair bit of oil fot onto my belts and pulleys? and would it make a significant difference to the power output? IF so then i mgiht try to get her on the rollers again att he next chance, but if not i'll save her the distress!

Furki turns to Darren and mutters the immortal phrase "Bugger" I know you wanted retro furks but the Fred Flinstone approach is gonna make people think im short! So let me get this right, you slam the car then put the sunroof up to make it look taller??

Aye, as a Pompey lad i must admit i wasnt too impressed with him taking out quite like that! knocked him unconcious, and had a fit of some sort on the way to hospital, he is on his way down south today. As its a head type injury he is going to be out for a couple of weeks minimum. FA and police investigations are underway, but the trouble the FA might have with taking action is that as the referee saw it and booked him they cant technically take retrospective action. Hopefully they can treat it as an exceptional circumstance, its not the first time he's done something like this!

I only ever park in disabled bays when my dad is in the car and only then if he has his badges (after having both hips replaced and having his aortic valve replaced twice i think he's entitled to use them!) Really annoys me when people dont have blue badges and use disabled bays. its notjust about being close coz disabled people cant walk far, its also about them needed to open their doors fully to get out as they arent too mobile, watching my dad get into his car in a standard bay is painfull, have sometimes had to move the car out so he can get in. Can fully appreciate the need for parent and child spaces, means they have space to get the kids in to the car easily, people are also forgetting that having these spaces near the door means that parents dont have to drag their kids across the car park therefore reducing risk of a kid running away from parent straight into my car! as for the absolute w@nkers who abuse these spaces, they deserve to have their cars towed away and scrapped, yes even those of you who do it with Corrados. Parking over 2 spaces - as alot of car park count how full the car park is it car really screw it up as the system will think there is space when it cant be used. these people really are just asking for their car to be abused. For the record, i always park miles away from the door of our local tesco as noone ever parks there.
