Think it will be far better with 1.5T formula, especially if like the Audi-Palmer formula, the drivers have about 30 seconds per race of 100bhp extra boost available to use at their discretion. Obviously at F1 states of tune it would be more like 300bhp extra boost!

D&G step into the breach yet again! Well done fellas! :salute: -
My quest for the perfect Storm! Now supercharged..
Philmo replied to greasegriff's topic in Members Gallery
I'd go along with that! :D Greasegriff - 296 sounds good and looks the part with wing vents! Would be interested to see the bhp and torque curves. Did Vince set it up to run with MAF or have you gone MAFless? -
I like that. I’ve just realised that I almost bought your car! I saw the advert and called the Seller to arrange a viewing but was told the car had already been sold…. I even took a screen shot! :D :D :D Looked at this on PH a few times myself - looked a minter - 1 owner IIRC.

Has Kip got himself an Icelandic ash monitor then? My car's still collecting fall out.
-
Jeezuz! I know pulling out can be messy, but how far was it stuck in? Wedged in nice and tight. Luckily I caught most of the mess in the bin bag. Not the first time I've had to do that  Nice one - I find bin bags cheaper than rubbers too!!

Indeed - pity the Rover version didn't get too far, though I recall the conclusion was that it might be OK for long distance racing, but a little impractical for a daily!!
-
Surely the bigger the cross sectional area, the less is the friction loss and pressure drop? I recall Harra had a right beast of an intercooler which kept his inlet like a fridge!
-
Me too! It's also good to continualy change, improving all the aspects of internal combustion. Just look at the specific power outputs of modern N/A production engines, close to 100bhp/litre with perfect tractability through modern instrumentation and ecu design. We're about due for another leap forward in turbo blown development.

Had my BBS CV's off today, polished inside and out [with tyres on though!] Ready for Elsecar Megameet. :D

Gobsmacking attention to longevity! :notworthy:
-
Should - fits between towbar flange and towball flange, with longer bolts of course!
-
'fraid the FWD Bora towbar doesn't fit the 4WD model - but I'd like to see how close it gets with a view to possible mod! The commercially available 4WD towbars are expensive and don't have the towball plate which I'd want to accomodate the cycle rack box section bracket.
-
I know someone not a million miles away who needs some tow jobs doin' ! :D Nice lookin B Good No plate ......PLZ - perleez! But I guess that will be going?
-
Blimey! Never thought the day would ever come. Lost your license Shaun? How about £12k?

ABS Pedal distance sensor now obsolete... Grrrrrrr

OMG - $146???? -
They're a PITA! I bought a nearly new C [4k mls] from a dealer in '95 [sales director's co. car] and got a fresh rear badge under warranty!!
-
VAG-hag & I get good prices from Fluxy year after year for both our modified C's. VAG-hag has his on NCB, agreed value. Mine's on classic agreed value policy [no NCB].

Shaun's old tailor made 2.5" SS catless exhaust - started fitting it just before Easter and took it for a run to Oulton Park Easter Monday races - day out for VAG-hag, his GF + me. Fits like a dream but blew slightly from front flange joint - thought I had a new gasket in, but re-used old one! Final phase of fitting today - fresh gasket ont' front flange joint. Burbles lovely at idle and at speed, responds to loud pedal in volume and umph, seems to smooth the torque out, just keeps coming on stronger all the way up to 6.5k rpm and probably beyond. Haven't any photos yet, but photos of it on Shaun's perfect storm below: 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf's old 2.5 System.jpg[/attachment:eyewpja3] 's old 2.5 System Tail.jpg[/attachment:eyewpja3]

ABS Pedal distance sensor now obsolete... Grrrrrrr
Philmo replied to Vince@Stealth's topic in Suppliers Forum
I'd be amazed if VW made the part themselves. Won't it have been manufactured by Beru or Bosch or ANOther specialist electrical supplier? Are there any tell-tale names/codes on the part? -

Me too! :D -
Commiserations Jim. But congratulations on pulling it round to a positive way forward and best of luck. Must keep the V9 flag flying!
-
Agreed - pretty neat.
-
Well that was much better! Button clearly demonstrated that the more smoothly you drive, the closer you can safely run near the edge. :D Pity about Vettel and Webber - but it never pays to drive too closely!

Like the white ones in your signature? :D
