  1. Do a search. Failing that click here G60 Timing Soughted my 60 out
  2. Some on the forum say replace this bolt with a different kind. From a Mk1 GTI or something. Is this a bad bolt or something?
  3. I was under the impression that all speed humps had to be a certain size and profile according to some regulation or other, mind you it would mean looking like a complete chimp with a tape measure to get one changed   Heights It will be appropriate to vary the height of the hump, in accordance with: circumstances of the location (e.g. strategic route or residential); speed reduction required (mean "between hump" speeds of about 30mph, or 20mph); and the type of the road hump feature. Table 1 indicates general height dimensions for road types in accordance with approximate "between humps" mean speeds. Spacing between humps will also affect speed between humps: the lower the height the smaller the spacing to achieve suitable speed reductions. Ramp gradients may also influence mean "between hump" speeds. "Thumps" in excess of 50mm high may cause considerable discomfort to vehicle occupants and are not recommended. Kerb to kerb flat top humps, of whatever type, cannot generally be laid to footway level without the kerbs being "dropped". Standard kerb heights between 125mm to 150mm high would exceed the prescribed 100mm height for road humps. And more here
  4. Did the garage not check the pump??? They should have really. Its in both your interests. Their bill and your car. If your headgasket has gone. Demand a propper two skin metal headgasket. Don't let em fit a compound fibre gasket. The sought of thing you may buy at your local shop. The Corrado headset is expensive. It includes all the required gaskets and new head bolts. All in all my mission cost me £352 all in. Not bad really £35 for the head to be skimmed, new stat and the headset plus metal gasket. Not had any probs since. I bought a new blue cap from VW a few weeks back to complete the job. Cost about £6. Good luck bud
  5. Did the garage check the waterpump? Maybe its dead! Do you have the new water expansion cap? They are blue in colour. The old black ones are prone to pressure failure. Ask the garage to do a water test. This will show if you have headgasket trouble. Also flush the rad with a hose pipe. Maybe it has a blockage. My 60 had lots of probs. Was boiling over all the time. New stat still not fixed. In the end they tested the pump, it was fine bur my headgasket had gone. The water was flowing down my exhaust! This was why I could not work out where my water was going. Head was kinked had it skimmed and refitted no trouble since.
  6. AHH well not to worry. Only asking as my mate sat in her the day I got the car. 11. I know I know I'm going to be beaten for posting this... I got a print out from the dealer about my car. Its service hist n other details. I am still trying to find my cars colour. So howdo I read my code? Where the original airbox sat there is a orange sticker. Printed on it is a barcode and J9J9. On my printout from the dealer my colour ref is K9K9xf So is it the K's n J's I read? If so J9 = Aqua blue pearl effect and K9 = Inca Blue Metallic So what colour is me car?
  12. morning again to the man of G. My tickover seems to be soughted. I got out my old throttle body and looked at the screw settings. Very slight difference's between the two. I matched the settings and tickover on start u seems to be good. Suffereing a sticky starter motor now  Can't win. Turn the key and .....silence! Swift use of large hammer shaft seems to sought it  have to take that off and grease it all.
  13. As an add on. See here. Informative site. Lots of tech info on Corrado's with the all imortant hotograh's..
  14. Hi there. I was wondering that. The arm seems to be a slightly different design to my old arm. Not the cable run but the small arm that touches the rear micro switch. I was going to start tinkering with screws. Reminded me of teenage days of carbs n mini's. Oh now my carb does'nt work anymore!! So I left it. Is it just a case of breaking the paint seal on the screws n winding em till the arm touches the switch?? Oh I got the RSR kit yesterday all on and running :-P
  15. Here ya go. Always a good start to yr knowledge. Not a bad site as a whole either G60 underhood Corrado club Canada
  16. I agree. That blue plug is the give away really. 2nd shot is your knock sensor cable. Mine was in a sim condition. Tape it up. Follow it back it will have a plug on 1 end. The other end is bolted in to your engine block or 'Should be' Mine was not. Again the cars wonderful previous owner who was an employed mechanic!!! Other shot. Well could be for attaching to an oil switch or it could be for the alternator. Does you Alt have a single wire coming of it? If so is it connected? Mine has a single wire that breaks at a join like that. For removal of the Alt I guess. Hope that helps
  17. This is interesting. What with my recent throttle body woes. I sourced a used body of Ebay. Since fitting it my idle has been a little erratic. Floating around thw 1500 mark and dropping back to 1000. I tap the cable arm and it drops down to 750. I will swap over my micro switches tomorrow and let ya know how it goes. I actually posted about this in the week, members thought it may be a sticky cable also.
  18. What that looks like a shock absorber??? If that is it then its the charger belt tensioner. Takes up slack on the looping path of the belt. The cam belt tensioner is below the can sprocket. Where the belt dips in and rounds a small pulley wheel. It has an offset nut two small holes. The above is if your not taking the P****
  19. Hi. Pulling up an old one after a search. So I pull the wire touch the engine and my fan comes on. I lift the wire it stops.. What does this mean.. My fan works.. Does the run on sensor not?? Just ordered my rad mounted fan switch from VW and checking the others around the engine n stuff. I did the wire bit my fan came on. So does the sensor work or not?? Just wondering.
  20. Mmmmmmm I love my ring spanner(s)

  22. I replaced my pump a few weeks back. Easy to do. Loads of shots. Need to get a 'How to' written really. i bought a VAG original for £28 just need to return your old pump as its a part X thing. For the price and as yr doing work why not.
  23. Try to get ya a couple this afternoon. Raining at the mo!!
  24. The F3 crash was literally infront of me. Like Oh sh*****t As I started to step back. You are very close to the trac and it just happened so fast. Next second the car was sliding back across the trac. The Mk2 Golf they were running was totally stoved in of the start line in race 1. Some Golf sheared its drive shafts so they told me. The field was at full pelt of the line and this golf just stopped. It was hit by the Mk2 and then the Mk2 was totalled from behind by god knows what. It was out for the day and maybe terminal. it was in a mess. All the suspension bent and the rear was next to the drivers seat... They have 3 weeks to see what they can do with it. The C is being a pain at the mo. This was its first podium finish. It was running 2nd but it was passed on the last lap infront of me. It just seemed to slow for a moment then it was all over not enough time to pass again on that lap.
  25. Yep I fitted it last week. The man of G supplied it for me. Its Sweeeeet. Really well made. Car sits pucka. Not really taken her for a spin yet waiting for my charger line and RSR outlet kit. Then it will be out and having it. Well after I have run the rebuilt charger in.
